Painted Tree is such a unique store. It is kind of like a store full of kiosks with handmade things of all sorts that are really unique and often 1 of a kind. Artsy, craftsy things, clothes, some dried foods, coffees, teas, dog treats, scented candles, jewelry and the beat goes on and on. The staff is always friendly. Our kids are at an age where they never know what they wan lt for Christmas. We stopped in and walked out with a trunkload of things that they will be thrilled with. It is really nice for gift exchanges and a trinket for somebody really hard for. Love this place. read more

Located in a busy strip mall in Naperville on Route 59,this location has over 100 vendors selling home decor,fashion,gifts,and much more all under one roof. It is hit or miss on what you will find as the vendors and products are constantly changing. Lots of seasonal items as well. A fun way to spend browsing on a rainy day. read more

Really great booths there to shop. One of the staff have a big problem with the black people that shop their, it seams like a personal problem with people of color that shops and have booths there. Lynn ( she is the older woman with the white hair),has been stopping the clients there as soon as they walk in the door, she would harass the shop owners about signing in. Other times they would sign in without the harassment from the staff and they were very nice and welcoming. She did the same thing to the woman's daughter when she was there to help her move out. They were coming back and forth at least three times that day to move out and etch time she would start nagging and harassing to sign in. When she told the Susan what happened and the lady said that she was being harassed and treated like a criminal while she was trying to move out. Susan found a way to get offended and called the client a mean, hateful racist, and told her to get out of her store and will call the police. Is this the way we treat people of color that we don't know and call them racist in front of the customers and the other clients? Well if you think this is right then that is a real problem. read more

This was an exceptional surprise of a place. It features multiple booths from different artisians with things for sale. The items in the store range from art work, to toys, clothes, jewelry, knick knacks and SO much more. It's the perfect place for browsing or if you are looking to add decor, gifts or clothes. I was pleasantly surprised at all there was to offer inside - highly recommend checking out, especially for unique items that aren't going to be in big box stores. read more

Anyone who is concerned about people not wearing masks, don't come here! They are not enforcing the mandate. I walked in and despite passing several signs warning that masks are required, the first shopper I saw had a bare face, so i asked the clerk, who gave me the shocked Pikachu face and said, "I can ask my manager..." i said that would be great and went off to browse. (Really, I am not asking this clerk to do something I don't do all day at my job.) By the time I got up one aisle and down the next I saw two more people without masks. That was enough for me. Maybe staff can't enforce at the back of the store, but the first woman was right in front of their counter. Management, empower your staff and enforce the rules. I'll be shopping elsewhere for Christmas. read more

This place is essentially Etsy in real life! I love perusing the aisles and checking out the different things vendors have out. It is a great place to check out if you're looking for a unique gift. There are multiple empty spots, however I do enjoy the selection they have. read more

I love this store. They should change their name though like adding "support Local businesses" under the Painted Tree sign. I did not expect these kind of shop when I just saw their sign and decided to stop by. I thought it would be like Home Goods. One word, it is like Art Fair every day. Bunch of small business owners rent their multiple booths. I got many inspirational ideas and loved the cute vibes. It would be wonderful if they have a little cafe where girls, moms can hang out and shop in this cute environment. As being of it is not ran by big chains or corporations, price isn't affordable like Target or Walmart, but I would say, if you want to support normal people like us but gifted and talented small business owners, it isn't a bad choice to shop here once in awhile. I would come back with other toddler mom for this great experience. read more

No reviews for almost a year, that's crazy. This was my first visit and I recommend coming when you can allow time to browse. There are about 5 to 6 aisles that run the length of the store filled with booths/ items. Some of the items are obviously hand made. There is a wide variety ~ jewelry, housewares, linens, socks. It is a craft show, indoors, without the artist present. I purchased a few items and found them to be reasonably priced for what they were. No Rolexes or designer bags here. It is worth the visit and a relaxing way to shop with no pressure. read more

I was really impressed by this "store". I love shopping in little boutiques in Geneva or Galena, and this is essentially a target-sized warehouse full of them. As others have mentioned, it's also comparable to a craft show. Like a craft show, each booth has a slightly different pricing structure, but every single item I was interested in seemed reasonably priced. In a few cases, I believe the artists were even undervaluing their work a bit. There was even a live singer in today, which was fun to see! Since it's so big, there's lots of room to socially distance so this is a great option for gift shopping outside of the often too-crowded malls and big box stores. My only minor quibble is that I'd like to see a little more variety as some of the booths felt extremely similar with pops of sheer brilliance in between. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out! I hope so much that it does well and sticks around as a platform for local collectors and artisans to showcase their work for a long time. read more

Do not shop here for gifts for anyone. My husband purchased a gift for me that I couldn't use for Mother's Day and I went to return it 3 days later. The woman at the register said there was a 48 hour return policy. Not return, no store credit. She texted the vendor who also could have taken the return but reused citing the 48 hour window. I'm stuck with something I don't want and would have happily taken a credit. I would never shop here for any occasion of gift giving. I like to do my shopping early for birthdays and Christmas,as and there is no way I will with that kind of return policy. Buyer beware. read more

Upon entering and leaving the store, the 2 ladies at the front counter made eye contact, ignored us and simply kept talking to one another like we hadn't just walked through the door.. That truly was a turnoff.. instantly! There's nothing spectacular about this place, at all. It reminds me of an over priced Marshalls. It does look like things were scavenged from Good Will and sold (refreshed) for an anticipated profit. Some of the booths were nice but the majority seemed like an overpriced garage sale. Speaking of pandemic I thought that a mandatory mask policy would be to go without saying and that means worn over your mouth and nose not as a chin warmer. What a wonderful space full of a collection of small businesses. There is something for everyone here. The best part is knowing that you are supporting a local business owner with your purchase. There's so many booths and so many different kinds of items it's not possible to leave without finding at least one treasure.
