So I had to send an email with our voucher numbers to reserve our seats. Luckily, we snatched street parking directly outside since commercial parking on that block ends at 6pm (yay!). Class starts at 7pm. After climbing one set of stairs, we walk into the studio. Nikki, our instructor, greets us then provides a quick overview of the space. We select our seats, hang our coats, grab aprons and two slices of pizza per person. Who doesn't love a pizza party? I appreciated the prompt start, because it was a two-hour experience. The class itself (with 10 students including us) was pretty cool and relaxing. It was easy to "paint along," because there was a well-positioned TV that was connected to a camera over her canvas. She gave oral instructions as she demonstrated the techniques. We did our best to replicate what she just demonstrated as she walked around to give individual pointers. My right arm was definitely tired due to the repeated strokes lol, but we had a great time. Clean up was a breeze and it didn't take long for our canvases to dry. We're excited to come back for more classes. Aside from painting your own piece, you can also browse the pieces available for purchase. I can't think of a better way to adorn the bare white walls of our home than with DIY pieces.

I have visited a different location a few years ago and thought I could tolerate another project, but honestly was blown away by how interested and happy I was to create my project. I think a lot of it had to do with the staff and the vibes of the place. We were able to bring food and drinks into this location which made the experience even better. Sushi, champagne, French pastries, and a hands-on project was perfect for a Friday night. Our end project was so cute and something we can actually use in our homes. Also, a great place to have a small birthday get together, bridal event or even do with a large group. There is parking in the back also. My only feedback would be that even though it is amazing that its BYOB maybe there should be a limit because there was a man who was drunk, and he was making us uncomfortable with the things he was saying and him trying to touch us. One of the staff members kept trying to divert him back to his project, but he always found a way back to us, or other people.

My mom was in town visiting and I was trying to think of things to do with her. She had been an…read moreavid painter years ago and I figured this would be a good way to spend the day with her and do something she enjoys! We signed up for a Sunday brunch class! I unfortunately cannot remember our instructors name (she was super sweet with teal hair) but we had a great time! They studio for brunch classes sets out bagels and orange juice but I arrived with some prosecco and peach nectar for some bellinis ;) Everything you need is already set up - your canvas, brushes and paint so all you have to do is grab an apron and be ready to paint! However, me being somewhat of a perfectionist found that I really wished I had some smaller brushes that what we were giving for some detailing, but that is just me. The instructor did a great job of explaining what she was going, giving tips and going around and helping anyone who need it. She made everyone feel like they were Van Gogh or Monet and there was no wrong or right way to do it. I will say that the set up of the class is maybe not the best, you are in long tables with 4 canvases set up on each side, so if you are sitting toward the back, furthest away from the instructor it may be difficult to see, not just distance wise, but you have other people's canvases and heads in your way. Definitely come early - the studio is open 30 minutes before class. I arrived 15 minutes and was the first one there, so I made sure my mom had a great seat in front of the instructor. Overall a great first paint and sip experience and I would love to come back again and paint more!

You have to follow covid safety precautions: wear a mask, they check your temp when you get there, and the aprons are disposable. All things considering, it's just as much fun as it was pre-covid. I feel like the painting selections for this place are different and there's a lot of variety, compared to other wine and sip places (other chains). Also, they have a chunky blanket workshop where you hand knit a blanket! Giving this a try in the future! The only con: cause this is real life...is parking, but that's Weehawken for ya. :)
