It's been at least 2.5 years since I've tried a new coffee spot in Richmond, so my coworkers recommended Paix Coffee when I was visiting this past Saturday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is pretty small, but my cousin and I were able to grab a seat at the high top table to enjoy our drinks and catch up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] CORTADO - 4.25 Between oat and whole milk, the barista recommended whole milk. The drink was creamy and the espresso flavor was strong, but not my favorite. The notes were bright and fruity, but also had some bold, bitter flavors I wasn't as fond of. I know they rotate the beans they use for their espresso, so my review may not mean much in a few days. My cousin got the latte and he felt similarly about the espresso notes. Visited Paix during the week around 8:30am. There was no line, but I heard it gets quite busy on the weekends. They have a limited menu, but I went with the seasonal spiced latte (November 2024). The latte was $6 which seemed a bit much for the size, but it tasted pretty good. It was good to see them have a brick-and-mortar, attached to a clothing/apparel/accessories store that you can peruse while waiting for your beverage(s). We stopped by in the morning, and I tried one of their seasonal drinks - it was a spritzer, and it was well-made, strong, and refreshing. I just wished it came in a larger size. Wow!! If you're looking for incredible and high quality coffee, this is the stop for you! Paix Espresso is a pop-up coffee cart that ventures around Richmond. I've been wanting to try them for some time now and was so excited to finally try them this weekend with my partner. You can see their weekly schedule to find where they'll be on a certain day on their website or their Instagram. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk which was heavenly. My partner enjoyed his cappuccino. We loved walking around the neighborhood with our drinks after ordering. The two people who run this are not only knowledgeable about coffee, but also kind and patient. They took the time to answer my questions and let me review the menu.
