I generally use the post office, but to mail really big objects that need special care, I have always come to this specific Pak Mail. The couple that own it are super nice! Being I'm a musician, I send out guitars on occasion. They never cease to engage me: we chat while they are figuring out the best way to get a guitar across country. It's probably odd to leave a review when I've only been 3 times and spent maybe 40 seconds (total) interacting with the employees here, but that's how nice they are! Each time I drop off a package everyone just seems so gosh darn friendly, which means a lot coming from an asocial dbag like myself. It's a quick review, but I enjoy giving good reviews when something exceeds my expectations in multiple, albeit quick, visits; for a mail service, I'm used to crabby, miserable, intimidating employees. Edit - The store manager replied below, so I feel compelled to respond to his assertion that my Military ID was issued in 2002, and somehow, it was grounds for refusing me a simple service. That is incorrect. My ID was issued in 1998 the day after I retired from a twenty year career. For the record, Sir, There is no expiration date on a retired military ID card. The license I handed you initially WAS expired. THAT was the second reason I needed notarization. I'm re-instating my license after 5 years. Which I explained to the manager. HE stated he was "not comfortable" notarizing the docs based on the ID I provided. When I protested and pointed out that my Mil ID was current, he argued that it was "issued in 2002", as if that somehow made him right. Wrong Sir. I was humiliated by you, and should not have been. Not as a paying customer, and certainly not as an identified veteran. Based on my experience, I'm filing a complaint with the Texas Secretary of State. He also asserted that I was not refused service. I was. He stated plainly "I'm not comfortable with your identification". So what? Was he still going to notarize my stuff? Nope. That is refusal of service. He also made the assertion there were customers in the store. There were not. The only other person in the store was behind the counter when I walked in. So was it a co-worker? Or maybe a friend just hanging out with you? Lastly, there were no numerous F-"Bombs". There was ONE F-Bomb, accompanied by my middle finger as I walked out (for the last time EVER) their door. - End Edit - Never will I ever step foot into this Pak Mail again. I needed something notarized this morning, so went to Pak Mail on Anderson Lane. Put up the docs to be notarized and handed the "gentleman" behind the counter my retired military ID Card as proof of who I was. He refused to Notarize my documents on the grounds that my retired US Military ID card was issued in 1998. 1998 is the year I retired. It has an indefinite expiration date. After explaining that this was an emergency and that my son in Boston needed the notarized docs to get an apartment (I was co-signing), the "gentleman" still refused. As a retired member of the US military, I haven't been insulted like this in quite some time. What's more, the "gentleman" who refused me service seemed to enjoy denying me the notary service I requested. Adios Pak Mail. I will NEVER use your services again. Ever. I hope you enjoyed your fun. Took a quick hop down to the Far West UPS Store where they were happy to assist a vet, and thanked me for my service as well.. I encourage all my veteran friends to avoid this Pak Mail. They are discriminating against the very people who gave them the freedom to discriminate. read more

Ah Christmas - 'tis the season to wait in line, recive no customer service and get frustrated, but the boys at Pak Mail saved my heinie not once but twice! I took in my package to be delivered, they not only showed me a better way to package it that would be cheaper (!) but then when I sadly misplaced my tarcking number, they looked me up and hooked me up! I've been a customer at this Pak Mail location for three years, and I love it. The guys are always friendly and helpful, and they take good care of whatever I need to ship. And the one and only time they made a mistake and I asked for a refund, I got it, no questions asked, no hassle. I was honestly shocked -- not because I didn't expect it from them, but because customer service at most retail establishments is so cruddy, I've been conditioned to expect the worst. But I know I can always expect the best here. The only way I would ever stop coming here is if I moved so far away that it was no longer economical in terms of gas and time. I'm so happy with the service, and plan to keep going here as long as I live in 78757. read more

Went in to mail out a 5lb box yesterday. I was shocked to learn that it was going to be almost $23.00 for ground service. I asked if that was the lowest price and the lady said yes. If you did UPS it would be $25. So I simply asked why does it cost so much. (I never mail anything except envelopes). She she gave me the rudest bug eyed look and answer. She said.....ughhhhhh because of the size........,and ughhhh because of the weight. Very, VeRy RUDE. I was excepting a different answer. Especially since it was an item I wanted to return for $38.00. So what do you know. There's a UPS store around the block and I went in just to see if the pice was the same! Totally different price! $15.00! Done. read more

I went to PakMail to send a return for a car part I ordered. While the parcel was not heavy, the box was quite large (approximately 64" x 36" x 4"). The price to ship was going to be over $300, which was more than the original price of the part. Terry at PakMail suggested that I contact the vendor and get a shipping label from them so that I could take advantage of their shipping agreements. After a short call with the auto part store, I got a shipping label sent to me for $18. I forwarded it to PakMail, Terry printed it out and took care of everything, so I didn't even need to run home to print the label myself. Terry saved me from eating the cost of the part and was a pleasure to talk to while on hold, even though I could tell she had other work to accomplish. I highly recommend their PakMail location on Anderson. While you are there, check out some of the charming woodwork items in entry that Terry's father created. read more

In addition to having to drop off my package in the middle of the argument that Joe the owner/manager and his wife were having in the middle of the store they then proceeded to loose my package entirely. Joe even said he remembered taking possession of the package AND acknowledging that FedEx said they never received possession of it yet he refused to refund the $60 value of the package or FedEx costs sighting that since he is 'merely a FedEx drop off point' and has no responsibility in the matter. I recommend using a different packaging store due to very poor service and lack of willingness to operate in good faith. read more
