Margaritas (alcoholic beverage) lunch. Feels so good.

El Mariachi Mexican Cantina on N. University Drive, Coral Springs, offers weekday lunch four (4) days a week only. Had I known I would have tried to go yesterday on Thursday. That said, request to dine outdoors was a breeze (pun intended) and the Winter Olympics was on tv. Waiter is Daniel who introduced himself as "Dani." Request of legendary busboy for " no chips" was also granted. "Dani" takes care of all food, drink, and bar delivery service to the table with a smile. He can entice by telling all about Sunday Brunch and Happy Hour which starts at 4 pm. Happy Hour, as I recall and as he hinted, is not to be missed. Chicken Soup, Salad, Lechon Tamale (appetizer portion yet a substantial size) and more is here for your enjoyment. Just remember Lunch Menu isn't offered on Friday or Saturday, as "Dani" graciously explained. Great place for margaritas. On this visit I drank Iced Tea which is very good because it tastes fresh-brewed. Unlike me, splurge and eat the Chips! All food is a treat!

One of my most frequently visited restaurants. It's always great to sit outside under the fans it's never to hot. The server brings out your chips and each person has their own salsa which I dip at my own pleasure. Drinks are always on point. I order the same dish because it never fails it's always just as good as the first time I got it. Taco explosion salad with steak. I always recommend this spot for a lunch and or dinner and leave full

So the thing is that I love nachos and this place gets them right! I've been here twice and each time they were consistent with the layers of cheese and meet and there was a bit of everything in one bite. Not only were the nachos good but the service was pretty good too. Their margaritas are the standard. They serve the traditional chips and salsa to start and the salsa is decent. My husband had their enchiladas with red sauce substituted and he cleaned his plate. This last time we went was on a Friday night and we sat outside. They had an entertainer singing and she could sing! The crowd seemed to enjoy her. I prefer outside seating, which was immediately available, but inside seemed to be the more popular option. Maybe I'll give another dish a try but being that I generally go for nachos, especially when they're that good, I can't guarantee it.

Food was great, service was slow but friendly and attentive. The day was great so we sat outside. Get the lechon asado, you will not regret it

The food here is amazing. From the fresh, warm tortilla chips, to the whole fried snapper, which was all deliciously plated and tasty The restaurant is clean and has an authentic feel. Though the tables are too close together, which does not leave you much room for comfort While the server was knowledgeable and friendly, the service was extremely slow, and we received very little attention even while the location was empty. It only got worse once the restaurant filled up as time went on

My husband, Chuck, and my brother, Raph, went here recently for Raph's birthday. He had been here before on his own but it was the first time for Chuck and I. The food was amazingly good, the atmosphere was very pleasant and our waiter, David, was very attentive to our needs and go us everything we needed for dinner. David even made Raph's night special with a sombrero and a song with dessert. It's a little restaurant in a very busy plaza, but what a way to just dine out to get away for a little bit. I'd recommend this to anyone for any occasion!

TL;DR version- good food, terrible service. Had lunch at El Mariachi with my family, a party of 11 (six kids, five adults). As we sat down, a runner brought us some yummy warm chips and cold, fresh salsa. It took about 5-10 minutes for our server, Gabriel, to take our drink order. It took another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. My husband ordered a Patron margarita with no salt, but they forgot to pour in the sour mix or agave so it tasted like lime tequila. He sent it back for another one, and the replacement was mixed correctly, but the glass had salt on it. My husband just let it go. It took literally 40 minutes (from having sat down) for our server to take our order. It seems he was paying more attention to other tables (his own and other servers') instead of ours. My sister had to find him and ask him to take our order. His attentiveness did improve afterward. We all enjoyed our food (although the lechon was dry). The real standout was the churrasco steak. My husband and I will give this restaurant one more try but we will sit at the bar next time, hopefully for better service.

Came on a Sat afternoon. Not too busy. Sat outside. Staff was friendly and recommendation for the NEW BARRÍA tacos. Fire! Tender roast and super tasty!! Will def be back for the mezcal margarita!! Just enough balance! Muah!!

Sangria frozen Margarita, not what I wanted but delicious and refreshing none the less.

Environment was nice, small family place. Steak was deliciously seasoned, tacos were full of thick juicy pieces of steak. I asked for them with cilantro, onions and lime, they aren't offered like this on the menu. I wanted a Paloma which they didn't offer and for flavored margaritas, they had some to choose from but no pineapple.

The menu is amazing here. Great service. We sat outside on the patio. The price was excellent... I had two massive burritos with a sub white rice with this amazing chipotle sauce.. honestly it could be a plate for two at only $13.00. The ropa Vieja had such a rich flavor I didn't know which to eat. I will be back and soon

We got a table right away, and were told the HH menu was available until 7pm. Being that it's summer and hot, we went with the sangrias, instead of wine. Their sangrias are great! We ended ordering more than we could it but everything was so good, we just had to try as much as we could. Around 7, I think, the live singer and flamenco dancer started performing and the ambiance became even more lively. People singing and jointing in dancing outside. And the owner went around all the tables greeting all his customers, helping with the orders, and encouraging everyone to have a fun time. The friendly/ family ambiance is one of the things I loved most of Tapas, and, of course, their delicious food. Can't wait to go back.

Simple combo, hard to mess up, yet here we are. The chicken was overdone and tough, like it was part of a south side gang tough. The black beans were bland, clearly afraid of seasoning. And the plantains were undercooked, still clinging to their raw potential. No bueno across the board. My wife went Mexican and briefly gave us hope. Her fajitas could be heard sizzling from several tables away, making a grand, theatrical entrance. Beautiful presentation. Lots of noise. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. The steak was overcooked, and the proteins were under-seasoned. All sizzle, no flavor. The common theme here? Just not a tasty meal. Service didn't help. It was slow, and the staff seemed far more invested in their own conversations than in, you know, serving customers. We felt less like diners and more like background extras. Credit where it's due: the music and atmosphere were nice. Fun vibe, good energy. If we were rating playlists and decor, this place would shine. But Yelp stars are earned on the plate, and this one lands firmly at three. Not bad enough to warn people away, not good enough to recommend. Mediocre food, slow service, solid ambiance. El Mariachi shows promise, just didn't deliver this time.

Bohio Latin Flavors, Margate…read more Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine with a heavy emphasis on mofongo, and based on this visit, that's one of the reasons to come here. They offer numerous variations, with your choice of sauce and protein, making this one of the more mofongo-focused restaurants I've seen in Broward. We started with the shrimp mofongo. The plantain mound itself was moist, flavorful, and nicely seasoned, avoiding the dry, dense texture that plagues lesser versions. Ours came topped with a rich shrimp sauce, but other options included a garlic cream sauce and a Creole-style sauce, both of which looked excellent as they passed through the dining room. Of the dishes we tried, the mofongo was actually my favorite. The masitas de cerdo (fried pork chunks) were flavorful and well-seasoned, although they came out a bit drier than I would have preferred. I'd still order them again, but based on what I saw arriving at nearby tables, the pernil may be the move on a future visit. The rice deserves mention as well. The arroz con gandules was excellent, with plenty of flavor rather than simply serving as a side dish. They also offered moro rice in both red bean and black bean versions, which was nice to see. The Punta Cana cocktail was worth ordering. Sweet, tropical, and considerably stronger than it looked. The dining room is much larger than it appears from outside, but this is very much a casual neighborhood spot. It reminded me of the kind of local restaurant you'd find in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic: a large dining room, full bar, TVs on the wall, families gathering for dinner, and the emphasis squarely on the food rather than creating an upscale experience. There's also a stage and DJ setup for live entertainment. One note: service was slow on our Sunday evening visit. After speaking with the manager, I learned she was also the restaurant's only server and that a single cook was handling the kitchen while also keeping up with a steady stream of takeout orders. Given those realities, the pace made more sense. Everyone was friendly, but this isn't the place to visit if you're in a hurry. Both English and Spanish menus are available, although the primary server was clearly more comfortable interacting in Spanish. They also feature Latin music and a DJ on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, which is probably when the room really comes alive.
