Great family style, authentic Mexican restaurant. It was my first time coming, and I was so happy I did. Friendly staff, clean floors and tables, and very spacious and comfortable inside. We were offered chips and salsa just as we sat down and then looked over the drinks menu. We opted the sangria pitcher and a spicy rita! Both were equally delicious. For food we started with the crab nacho, and oh my gosh!!! It was one of the best variations of nachos I've ever had! Chunks of real crab, melty cheese and fresh crispy tortilla chips. It was so amazing! I also ordered the enchilada dinner with steak, and Jason had the carne asada. Both dinners came out, and I was so shocked by the large portion sizes, I knew neither of us were going to finish it. We both ate a little bit of our dinner, and it was very flavorful. For a Saturday night, the restaurant was very quiet, with just a few tables occupied. Great food, nice staff and amazing Mexican dishes, this is a definite must. The server that we had was not too familiar with English, making it a bit difficult to ask questions, or ask for that we wanted. My family and I have been coming to La Bamba (Margate) for over 25yrs. Every birthday, graduation, big family gathering, etc have all been spent here. The host staff are always warm, friendly and seat you promptly. The service staff are even better. Your drinks are always full and the food comes out hot and paced properly between appetizer and entrees. If you have a big group I urge you to make a reservation because they are always busy! The FOOD is what will always keep me coming back. Their fresh, homemade salsa is arguably the best around, especially the spicy. The tortilla chips are so addicting and they keep them coming. Always a great time at La Bamba. Was there last night on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated within 20 minutes despite being packed. We love the frozen margaritas here and always our go to spot. Last night I had the crab nachos and they were good made with real crab. Only thing was that the tortilla chips got a little soggy. La Bamba has stepped up there lunch specials big time! They have fantastic deals, with HUGE portions. I made my one meal into 2 1/2 meals, thats how much food they give you. I also tried there loaded Nachos, they were so good each chip had a large amount of cheese, guac, and sour cream. When I say topping ratio to chip was perfect, I mean perfect. All the food was fresh, and pipping hot. I went when they first opened, and people started rolling in shortly after. The staff was friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, and inviting. I use quotations on the spicy because it is not spicy enough to me, personally speaking. I appreciate that the service is always fast and everyone is friendly. I've never had to wait long for a table and/or food and I've dined here so many different times; weekends, weekdays, lunch and dinner. They operate this establishment very well. Last night I had the pleasure of trying their passionfruit margarita (frozen) with a tajin rim and this is easily the best frozen margarita I've ever had. The passionfruit pureè doesn't taste fake like some places and drinks so smoothly. Whenever I'm sick, only their chicken soup can cure me. It is my favorite (sick or not)! I normally get their picadillo, but had the enchilada / taco combo which was soooo good and hit the spot of exactly what I was craving - like I said before, they are always CONSISTENT - so no matter what I've tried, I know what I'm getting will be good. I couldn't wait to get back to La Bamba on my visit to Florida! I came to visit friends but would not miss the chance to have dinner here. It hasn't changed since i moved away! Thank goodness! Excwllwnr food and excellent service. I ordered pollo a la plan ha. A mouth watering chicken breast marinated in deliciousness served with sautéed onions, rice black beans and plantains. I can hardly wait to get to sleep and wake up tomorrow morning so i can have my leftovers for lunch! My 2 friends had streak fajitas and of course, loved them I was lucky enough to snag some green peppers from one pal, and red peppers from the other. I have great friends. If you don't know about this establishment, you will when I'm done. From the food, to the service and the amount on the plate. Once you get in they give you fresh chips and salsa and they refill it along with your drink. I only eat one thing when I go in, you let me know if you've tried eating here before. I went with the "Enchilada Dinner". Two shredded chicken enchiladas, refried beans and rice. The fresh salsa I like to add in the mix. They have hot sauce but I've never seen like a garlic cilantro or anything like that. But top it with the fresh salsa from your chips and you will be in heaven. This was my go to place for a fun atmosphere a really good food with years and years of going there and not one bad meal but it's changed. I reviewed this before it hasn't been there for a while so I went taking my family. Just hoping things would be better. It's small stuff but it's big stuff. Also I ordered what I usually like. And this was nothing more than the same taste you get with store-bought mild salsa. I know businesses are cutting back where they can trying to keep profits up and the fact we are basically recessioned already. Just it wasn't a busy when we went in. This place used to be so full. You would be waiting on the sidewalk at dinner time and maybe lunchtime as well waiting for tables. I will go back one time at dinner time to see what that's like because I've been going there for maybe 20 years I think? I didn't feel like the all atmosphere like I mentioned the last time. Large number of servers were congregating, and the music certainly didn't fit the environment at that time. Basically, I was looking for the Mexican charm that it used to give off in the great food that you never had the question and I didn't get either one of those. If you've gone there in the past the minute, you look at the walls and see the modern lighting and the rest of the decor has changed somewhat. You realize that some of the charm is gone and It went from a place I had to see and go and enjoy Very frequently and certainly if there was an occasion with friends or family we would enjoy it. I'm not saying it's off my list of places to go, but it's not sitting in the top tier anymore either I will go back again and try some time and I hope things are different or else it's strike three I mentioned previously, you can see businesses where the parents or grandparents had built a business and they had a lot of dedication a real passion for the place and then when the next generation of a family might take the business over they can run the business they can do what they're supposed to do but the passion is missing. I made reservations for a party of 20 which was scheduled for May 30. I spoke to Ramone who took the reservation and said to check back 2days before with headcount. It was a great experience, very friendly staff, Alex was our main server. We needed separate checks and had no problems with it. The Margaritas are so delicious for a lunch treat. The waitress was very nice but not fluid in English and it was hard for her to understand our requests. The waitress had the manager come over to translate. We ordered a bean burrito dinner, $13.95. We are vegan and brought a bag of no dairy cheese (unopened) and asked they could use it in our burrito, they said no. We used our non-dairy cheese when our burrito was delivered to the table. Our food arrived cold and was missing the vegetables and only had beans in it, nothing else. They have NO Vegan options other than lettuce. Palomilla can't be beat and I pair it with the cheese enchilada Chips and salsa better than any I've ever eaten in any state, or country! Never used to have this issue. The last time I ordered the chicken tasted bad and my kid said the beans tasted off too. The food was a disaster in a box. I have been dining at this restaurant since the beginning. This iconic restaurant offers the best Tex Mex food. So many varieties of entrees are offered on the menu. Unlimited chips and salsa are offered at free of charge. They serve mild and hot salsa. The best salsa I have ever had. I ordered grilled chicken tacos which was a healthy option and delicious. We also ordered a burrito which was filled with shredded chicken, rice and cheese which was also delicious. The service is accurate and prompt. The food is consistent and delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. The portion size very large. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and you will never go home hungry. read more
