The food is very good. The cashier is very respectful. I sat at the bar and order drinks. Everything went well. Food came out fast and hot. No complaints.

Attentive bartender and amazing salt and pepper prawns. Fast service. Bummer the pull tabs were not available. I guess the person was late to work. I am deducting a star because of the atmosphere. Actually it was just one customer. She was very loud and extremely drunk. She was interjecting herself into everyone else's conversations and hanging on people. She was also asking other customers to buy her food. She argued with staff and was creating quite the scene. I think she should have been asked to leave. Other than that, I highly recommend.

I don't gamble at all whatsoever, I just come for the happy hour on Thursdays. I highly suggest getting the salt & pepper wings, I don't know what they do or what they put in the wings, but they are some of the best salt & pepper wings I've had in years.

This is definitely my favorite place to eat lunch. Nice juicy burgers. Top of the line customer service and the food is amazing. Nice menu choices and the staff is always on point. Lisa and Will are my favorites. Always hustling working hard but still making time to smile, check on the customers and make sure we have our order the way we want it. Brittany can cook so good makes you want to slap your mama. Lol but seriously it's so delicious and the service is awesome. Keep up the great work everyone! David is the man! Good job Palace!

I love the chicken wings here and the steak salad. It's a great place to go after work for their happy hour prices alone. The food is great! The only downside is service is slow because there isn't enough workers from what it seems.

Chips and Palace casino is no Snoqualmie or Tulalip Casino but at 1 in the morning its a nice place to get a full meal. We ordered the won ton soup, the sweet and sour pork, and the honey walnut prawns. Not the best I've ever had but for the price we paid we definitely got our moneys worth. The soup was a little bland compared to other places I have been to but it was satisfying. I don't have any complaints about the rest of the food we ate except to lighten up on the sauce a bit. The service was OK. I feel like we waited a long time for everything and it wasn't that busy. The waitress was really sweet so that made up for it. Overall if I am back in Tacoma I might go back. I wouldn't go back there just for the fun of it though.

    So sad.

The bar is quaint and drinks are strong, thanks to the awesome bartender there on the weekends. It is quiet enough in there that you can have a conversation if you want, or change it up and go have some fun on the tables! If you aren't into gambling, head into the main stage room for a live cover band and dancing where there is a nice diverse and energetic crowd. Can't beat a dance club with no cover! No dress code here- I've seen sweats to Hustler Hollywood gear so you get in where you fit in. If you are bored with the live entertainment, saunter down to the pool tables in the back and show off your billiard skills! No smoking indoors ether, so you don't leave smelling like smoke which is a plus. They als do reservations for large parties (had a group of 20 once and they hooked me up) and host Mother's Day brunch sometimes. This is a nightlife gem in the South end!

If your kicking around the house doing the "what do you want to do tonight" give this place a try there is a little bit for everyone. Sometimes they pull a younger crowd but it is always a good mix of people of all ages. Only cons I can think of is the parking and access to the parking lot which is a little difficult since they put the dividers on South Tacoma Way.

As for the gaming side, it just wasn't great for us. My husband usually has decent luck at places like Emerald Queen and Muckleshoot, but here he didn't win anything on the slot machines. He tried a few pull tabs and walked away with $7 total, which obviously isn't much. I personally wasn't interested in the slots at all. The main reason we came was because I wanted to try bingo for the first time. My only reference point was honestly TV and movies, so keep that in mind. I was pretty surprised by the overall experience. A lot of the people playing bingo were... unfriendly. Some looked like they'd been there all day, and one woman literally glared at me every time I got up to get a drink or use the bathroom, which was uncomfortable -- especially since she was seated right near the drink station on the top floor. What shocked me the most was how quiet it was. Like, library-level quiet. My friends and I felt like we couldn't even talk to each other and ended up texting instead. People were shushing others around us, which made the whole thing feel tense. The bingo session itself was also very long. I did get a lot of reading done on my phone, though -- if I ever came back to play bingo again, I'd definitely bring a book and order food immediately so I had something to snack on. I didn't win anything at bingo. My husband did win, but he had to split it with three other people, so the payout was minimal. The staff at the front counter when you first walk in was super nice, and that stood out. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff just kind of felt like they were there to hang out rather than actively help or engage. Overall, the place has a bit of a weird vibe. It was an interesting experience, but with so many other casinos in the area, this wouldn't be my first choice to return to.

We do love pinball, but we might have come along this place randomly. It's been busy the few times we have been, which tend to be weekend afternoons. Not so busy you can't play though, prices are comparable. It doesn't seem too claustrophobic like some places, lots of space to move around. Full bar and friendly service. Places to sit. We stayed a night in The Presidential Suite here. Due to the day of the week we had the place to…read moreourselves and that was a blast. The garden is calling me back. The place was immaculate and it was a beautiful view straight at the lake. Staying in the room where both Pres Teddy Roosevelt and Pres William Howard Taft slept was so awesome. As for comfort, I recommend that suite due to the double couches... Like nice stuffed modern couches. The 15th century paneling in the ballroom and great hall, the reclaimed stained glass pieces that were merged together and placed in every window, some shards going back to the 13th century, the love that went into the restoration of a place where once ancient oak was painted over (!!!) and according to comments that the sunken garden designed by Olmsted Bros was covered in blackberry bushes... It took my breath away. I felt very fortunate as I'd been dreaming of staying there. Hopefully a child of mine will get their wish and marry there. For those who are concerned, the wood paneling etc was purchased from a delapidated estate home that was noted as unsavable. In the grand tradition of Biltmore and Hearst Castle the import of entire chambers was done, but in a way this purchased material saved something precious. The stained glass was reclaimed by a member of the nobility in Britain or Europe whose passion was searching for these pieces. Having seen 3 different rose designs from the houses of Tudor, York and Lancaster, we're possibly looking at Tudor or even Pre-Tudor Britain for the all white and all red roses (look up The War of the Roses). Stunning. I wished I could have seen every single window in the place as it appears even servant's quarters windows on the 3rd floor have these beautiful stained glass designs. As for the brick that the exterior is constructed from, it was new brick made in good old Wales. Overall the brick and reclaimed building pieces were shipped around Cape Horn in 3 ships to Tacoma. Talk about a dangerous voyage. If you love horror the castle was practically saved by the huge payout from a network who made Stephen King's Rose Red. Each room has a copy on dvd. Also: 3rd floor common areas include a media room with comfy chairs open to all, a game room with a pool table etc, a small parlor with a prie-dieu in case you need to pray before a wedding ceremony or sit on its little parlor set. The second floor common area is a small library. For weddings, that and the suite across the hall are changing rooms. Lobby and ballroom on the first floor are common areas unless a wedding is going, in which case the weddings must wrap up by 9 pm. What a place. My only complaint is the final step onto the first floor from the staircase needs a railing. I fell hard and know I can't be the only one. It would be awful to fall as a bride who can barely see her feet while wearing heels. I'd also love to be able to order, online at least, a really wonderful book with old photos of the rooms etc and the facts and history of the house that the website doesn't cover. Bring cash to tip the maid as there is not really a modern checkout setup. The maids deserve a huge tip. FYI: this is no longer a B & B. They supplied our room with a lovely basket of snacks and there were complimentary sodas and water etc in the mini fridge. Yoi can order food if you want to but I didn't know how we'd let someone in the gates. As far as bringing food: do. There's a small microwave and a keurig as well as a small set of glassware, plates, actual utensils and linen napkins. It's a bit of a drive out to somewhere and check in is at 4 pm. Oh! Check out is 11 am which was nice. Again: please put a railing on the last step.

Consider Thornewood Castle Thornewood Castle is located near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, south of Tacoma, Washington. Hidden in the local neighborhood, the facility is strategically placed to take advantage of stunning shoreline views. The building has its historic origins from 400 years ago and moved brick by brick from the United Kingdom to Tacoma 1907. There have been many modern upgrades since its origins, but the staff has kept its ancient charm and made it a welcoming place for a modern 21st-century audience and beyond. Several parts of the facility can be decorated to meet the needs of your event. Chairs in the garden for announcements or wedding vows. The covered loggia, located on the eastern wing of the facility, can house plated or buffet dinners with room for a hosted bar. Mind you, a little elbow grease will be needed to make the facility as stunning as you need it to be. This includes having lawn reception for dinner in the back portion of the facility, facing the sun and beach. Be advised to make sure your caterers and vendors are aware of the facility's restrictions and limitations. Parking can also be a challenge given the size of the facility, but again, check with staff when making your booking. Now there are rooms for rent, and they are stunning. Rates and photos are available on their website. The photos can not adequately express how the rooms have been curated for short-term stays for guests. They are amazing in person to see.
