    Racing floor

If you're looking for a fun new way to celebrate an occasion for all ages, this place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend experiencing slotcar racing. Alan the owner was the most generous host with his time, place and guidance to a party of about 40 people who had never slot raced in their life. He graciously let us book a party of 15 kids plus parents and extra family members in the middle of his busy Christmas month. You get access to a large party room with a kitchen and comfy seatings. Free to roam the whole racing floor with so much to look at between the two racing tracks. Even if you're not into car racing, this place evokes nostalgia of being young and wanting to be grown up and experience something new. Really hard to describe how much fun everyone of all ages had. Our son was turning 5 and we didn't want to do the same family fun centers we had been going to with other kids parties all year. I stumbled upon this place and couldn't have been more happy with the event. My son will be talking about this for years, as well as the rest of the family and friends. The logistic things to note. You can bring any food you want to serve. The only ask is to take out all the trash at the end of the party and leave it as you found it. Bring big garbage bags for quick clean up. Ideally plan for 1 hour for racing and 1 hour for food and cake. We were a large group, we went over time due to the learning curve of how to race and picking cars. So I suggest another hour if cars aren't already chosen ahead of time. Alan hosted by himself and improvised our needs as we went and was relaxed on going over time since we pretty much had the venue to ourselves. No rushed feeling of other parties waiting. Front of building parking, full bathroom, full kitchen with fridge, microwave and stove, separate party room, huge open concept racing event space, guided how to race and racing experience. Scores are taken and winners announced! Such a great new experience. Aside from the really affordable venue cost, you have to purchase a car per racer if they don't have one already. So instead of a grab bag, we let each kid choose from the base model of colorful cars to race and take home! They can then now be able to come back and book lanes to race at this place anytime! Overall pretty comparable in costs with other fun centers with add ons. But the experience is so much cooler!

    My sons 10th birthday party!

I had my sons 10th birthday party here with a total of 34 kids that attended and Alan went above and beyond to make this party the best it could be. I have thrown my kids birthday parties at many different venues in Washington and in California and this was my favorite because of the amazing customer service that was provided. I have even reserved the whole children's museum for a private party but you pay $500 to be rushed beginning to the end which I hate! Raceway gave us plenty of time to set up and didn't rush us at the the end when we were cleaning. All my guest had never been here before and they all loved it! The parents plus the kids were talking about how they can't wait to come back. I made sure to leave this review because the owners were just so amazing and patient which means a lot to a mom trying to throw her son a big birthday party with energetic kids running all over the place. I could of never had the patience he had to put all the kids on teams! I assigned kids their team color in the invitation so I had the red team and blue team, along with badges that I had made so the owners new which kids were paid for by me. Terrific Experience and I have 3 boys so we will be back again for another huge party in a couple of years when the younger 2 are older!!!!

What an awesome place to stop by!…read more If you have kiddos this place is extra great - the playground is so delightful I just had to go down the slide! There's a building that has some really cute turtles and frogs and there are animal costumes for the kiddies. As for the adults? There's a walking trail that goes around the lake. It's pretty short, but if you go around a few times you can get a nice walk in. It's very shaded and I will definitely be coming here more when Summer comes.

I actually saw a local mom influencer post about it on Instagram and decided to visit with my kids! The Discovery Pond playground is super cute and was a hit with my kids (5 and 3). It's all nature themed, of course, with fun slides and climbing structures, as well as a small playground off to the side of the main playground. In addition, there's fun trails for the kids to explore surrounding the playgrounds that I felt comfortable enough letting them check out on their own since the whole area is pretty condensed and it's easy to hear/see them. There looked to be some pond areas that were all dried up. From past photos I think there are normally some frogs and bugs and other things that sometimes fill up these ponds, but it being the start of the hot season they are pretty baren. Would be cool to come back and check out in the fall! I also appreciate the amount of benches and picnic tables around the playground, as we were able to snag a shaded one that the kids could have their lunch at and take a break from running around. After we played and had lunch at the playground, we went on the little half mile ish trail behind the info center. It was mostly flat and very easy for the kids. The hit was definitely the bridge that goes over a large pond where we were able to spot several turtles, tadpoles, ducks, etc. We didn't pay attention to the time and missed out on going inside of the info center (it closes at 2) so that will be on the list for next time as well. Overall such a cute little spot that we'll I'm sure we'll hit up several times this summer!

I attended a wedding at Titlow Lodge this last Saturday. While the wedding was amazing, and yes,…read morethe venue is beautiful, the lady from Tacoma Metro Parks who was there was atrocious. As a guest, I've never been made to feel so unwelcomed by a venue. To give a little background, the wedding was scheduled to take place at the venue from 4:30 to 8pm. This woman came out every ~20 minutes, in her Metro Parks cardigan, after the ceremony took place to stand in the doorway and glare at everyone, then turn around and stalk off. I had just finished having a slice of the wedding cake when the lady came out, went into the area where the food was still set up, and started to move around all the dishes the guests had brought. She'd glare out at the hall where everyone was sitting, eying every table, hands on her hips. She was so unsettling that a majority of the guests started to leave. It was 6:30, I had only danced to one full song and was half way through dancing a 2nd time when the Tacoma Metro Parks woman, who was coming out far more frequently at this point, had one of the parents of the couple come out and ask who had brought what so she could clean up. This was at 6:30, and the reception wasn't supposed to end until 8pm, (I learned later that they had the lodge til 9pm so they could do cleanup AFTER the reception ended at 8) but the Tacoma Metro Parks lady was dead set on putting a damper on the festivities! I had to stop dancing to go over and point out my dish because she wouldn't let up. I tried to dance again, but the Parks woman had the parents go around and take all the table cloths off the table. What few guests she hadn't chased away started to leave. A handful of us tried to stick around until 8. I found out later from the bride's maid that the Tacoma Metro Parks woman was constantly interrupting the photo shoot and set up before the wedding even began. While the lodge and grounds are lovely, I cannot, at this time, recommend this venue. If you do book it, I would suggest being very sure that you make it clear you want the venue representative to not be present.
