Both dishes tasted great but our main gripe is the prices have gone way up. $21 for the sandwich and $20 for the Nachos. Plus each 22oz beer was $9.75. $9.75 for each beer! That is way too high for beer. Although the food was great we don't know how people can afford to eat here. We won't be back.

I just moved into a new house in the area and live five minutes up the street and thought this could be a new home bar, any way. About 1015 minutes later had bought myself one. My best friend gives me a FaceTime call. I'm at the bar by myself to be noted and it was an important phone call, not many people sitting around me or in the var at all to be bothered by a phone call so I took it inside. Went to move my napkin and my shot spilt over a bit a complete accident not a drunk accident either. I was a little tipsy not nearly close to drunk. I asked to order another one and she proceeds to tell me how I'm being obnoxious and drunk on the phone and that I'm cut off. Was only on the phone for about 5 minutes and then asked for another. * I did clean up the mess as it only split on the counter where I was sitting * I seen her serve the same people who were buying me shots more shots and shots after they had been there hours longer then be and clearly more intoxicated. Service was spot on and the owner was a friendly man who is an all around great guy. especially our blonde bartender. She always makes my shirely temple. Then I asked my same colleague and brought another colleague to the golden west the day after on 7/15 and we all went. The atmosphere was still the same. The colleague that went with me before on 7/14 went back to the game machine to play her game. (but her dollars weren't cooperating) but she got the BLT, I got my wings again plus the happy hour food special chicken Cesar salad, and my other colleague we brought got the Turkey melt. It was amazing as always. I always love coming here and it will be one of my frequent stops due to the fact of the chicken wings. Not going to lie. The owner is a great guy plus the bartender. I have been wanting to write this review for almost a year, and here it goes…read more My first time ever walking into Golden West was eight years ago. I was not new to the bar scene. I grew up in South Tacoma and am very proud of it. Quickly, my friends and I became regulars. It used to be such a good time. It's never been a very busy establishment, but we were able to play some pool, play whatever music we wanted, and just have a good time. The drinks used to be poured heavy, the servers were fun, and it became my favorite hidden spot. I even met the love of my life there, whom I now share children with. He was also a regular. I used to spend a minimum of $300 a month on shots, whether they were for me, my friends, or whoever wanted some! That was when the shots were $6.50 and poured fairly. Not to mention all the money I have spent on TouchTunes over the years. I even looked back at my bank records, and I'll mention that half the time I paid cash. But things started to change. I'm not too informed on the business side of it, but I believe the business was handed down from the owner to the owner's son. I have heard negative things from people and friends about the way he treats employees, and I've watched some of the most fun bartenders leave or get fired. The vibe just isn't the same anymore. The prices have also been jacked up to at least $10 a shot. Come on, just take a look around. There's barely anyone in there anymore. No one wants to go there because of the prices and because of the vibe that is there now. I have seen some of the improvements made inside the business, but that's not why we were regulars. We were regulars because of the VIBE. A lot of our regular music started getting blocked, and now the few good songs that are available are CENSORED!!! Really?! The bathrooms are gross they need a new remodel I won't eat there. The bartenders are what make a place like this. There was a bartender named Jen who I personally had a terrible experience with. Her attitude was bad, she was loud and unfriendly, and I often felt ignored when I was trying to order a drink. It seemed like she would rather play pool, smoke, or talk to someone than take my drink order. Eventually, we just stopped going. On the other hand, Tiny and Tina have always been good bartenders to us. Theresa too! At this point, we will pretty much only go if one of them is working. If you are the owner of this establishment and you're reading this and want to take some advice: don't just think about yourself when it comes to this business. Think about your customers. What do your customers want? Take a look at the cameras. Look at which days are busy, who is bartending, what music is being played, and what age groups are coming in. Pay attention to what makes people actually want to stay and come back. And if you're a customer reading this review, I know I can't be the only one who feels like the last 2-3 years have gone downhill. This place no longer feels like the home bar we used to love going to, and honestly, that makes me angry. We were loyal regulars. We spent our money here, brought our friends here, and continued coming back because we loved the vibe and the people. Watching a place we supported for so many years turn into somewhere we barely even want to go anymore is extremely disappointing.
