Not many people would expect the best coffee shop in the nation to be in the little college town of Canyon, Texas. But indeed it is! Warm environment, kind hospitality, passionate staff, historic Western setting, and most importantly, perfectly brewed coffee is what you will find at Palace Coffee. Stopped by the shop to grab something warm to drink. The atmosphere was great, plenty of room for a Saturday evening. The coffee was great and the hot chocolate that my wife got was really good. It was nice to find this place only a few miles from the house and the prices are easy on the pocket book. Will make this a frequent stop in the future. read more

I just moved into Amarillo and nowhere have I felt more welcome than palace coffee. It's a great place to meet people and chat up a conversation. Palace coffee also has some of the best tasting coffee around. Definitely worth the ten minute ride fromAmarillo. Also the town of canyon gives a nice small town feel to the busyness of city life. This place sort of gives off a trendy/hipster sort of vibe with the characteristic slim cut khakis and hair. read more

Went to enjoy the Canyons farmers market and I brought my dog, I got up to line and was asked if she was a service dog. I said no, the guy/girl (I couldn't tell) said I can't have my dog in here..I stated well I don't have anyone else with me to watch her and you don't have a drive thru so how could I have gotten coffee from you? It said I could of left her outside tied up. Wow! This is the last time I'll waste time standing in line for bland coffee. read more

Every visit to Palace has been great. Having previously worked at a "chain" coffee house, I am delighted to see the coffee scene in the Panhandle expand. I have had hand crafted beverages in Seattle and other cities and can say, without hesitation, that Palace is right up there. The roast they use is lighter and therefore more acidic, but if the shots are timed and pulled properly the flavor is incredible! I would go more often were I able. Canyon folks are very lucky to have such good coffee. read more

Definitely serving up unparalleled coffee in the panhandle. You'll have to drive into Austin for the closest cup of joe that can compare to Palace's. The cookies and pastries leave more to be desired, otherwise I'd give them 5 stars. And it's usually always quiet in there, so it's a great place to study. read more

I use Palace as a temporary getaway from Amarillo. My cohorts and I generally commandeer a table and study the entire afternoon. The atmosphere is casual, and I like that the music is present but not overwhelming. The drinks are pricier than a usual cup, but they are made with finesse. First time to try Palace, they were fairly busy, but were quick to get orders out. Enjoyed my hot Mocha coffee, it was very smooth and not too sweet. I love going in here. The coffee is Delish, the atmosphere is so calming and inviting, and the staff is extremely nice.

I am a local student and the Palace is my getaway when I want a peaceful place to study and see friendly faces. All the baristas know my name, they greet me when I come in and say goodbye when I leave. I don't drink a lot of caffeine but they offer caffeine-free alternatives that are amazing, not to mention the delicious sandwiches and salads they have at lunch. My very favorite thing about the Palace, though, (aside from the great service) is that they provide the best venue in Canyon for live music every weekend with a low cover (if any). I love the Palace and all the people who make it what it is. read more

I moved to amarillo knowing no one, and this place really opened up to me. I met a great community of young adults here, and it had the hipster vibe I was looking for. This coffeehouse is the main thing I will miss about Amarillo. The great thing about the canyon store is that it has concerts on the weekend. I like the Amarillo store a little but more because it has more of a young adult feel. But overall they have award winning coffee and was featured in the USA today as one of the top coffee houses in America. A must stop. read more

My friend and I were led to Palace coffee by good folks at Evocation Roasters in Amarillo. We were on a cross country road trip / coffee shop tour back to Portland. Patrick, the owner was incredibly friendly, gracious and generous. He loves talking coffee, which is a sure sign of a great shop. I had a cortado and it was such a delight! The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for a shop, big tables, comfy couch, open space, good music. And they have a ton of at-home coffee brewing gear for sale, yessss! read more
