I got the jumbo sized original kolaches. The bread wasn't soft or the best I've had, but the sausage inside was great (juicy). Customer service was amazing here. It was super busy (prime time Sunday morning) and there were people in line, off to the side, in the drive thru, and dining in. The staff was well staffed and moved very efficiently. This Rise N Shine Donuts was one ot two locations that I knew of in Amarillo, TX. First off, their sign was not very noticeable nor easy to see from the street. The little shop was situated in an offwhite plaza with black lettering. Not very Rise-N-Shine-y at all. Lol. The staff was welcoming and friendly. There were a few indoor seating arrangements, but most folks seemed to get their items to-go which was what we did. The menu comprised mostly of donuts and donut holes, however, they sold a few other items that we didn't have time to try - namely kolaches and breakfast sandwiches. The donuts we tried on 10/8/2022 were fairly no frills. They had a small assortment that had the traditional Halloween colors, but nothing fancy. I heard about this place from a friend a while back and I finally got in here. It's not real close so it took me awhile. I decided to try several of my favorites, bringing some home to have over the next couple of days. I didn't know if they would have any actual breakfast foods but I was hoping so and they did. They had a breakfast croissant where you could choose your meat with cheese and egg, tamales, kolaches and breakfast burritos. Plus a wide variety of donuts. I decided to get the breakfast special with a bacon egg and cheese croissant which was delicious and it came with a medium coffee that included one refill. I cut the croissant in half and just ate part so I would have room to taste some of the donuts. I got a cherry Fritter which was delicious. I wasn't sure if it would have the kind of cherries in cherry pie or the kind of cherries in a cherry malt or dried cherries. They were more like maraschino cherries and the flavor was wonderful, the texture was perfect, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The cream filled donut was more of a disappointment. I did know in advance that it was going to be custard-filled not real cream filled but I think it's not really right to call it a Bavarian cream when there's nothing creamy about it at all. It's just sort of a see-through vanilla pudding was no particular flavor other than sweet. The chocolate on top was good though. They put it in a bag without a wax paper wrapper and about half the chocolate stuff stuck to the top of the bag even though I opened it within 30 minutes of buying it. The old fashioned was good but not the best I've ever had. It didn't have as nice of a crunchy outside, fluffy inside as others I've had but it was respectable. The coffee was the average restaurant coffee. They did have the little French vanilla liquid creamers available so I was glad they didn't only have powdered creamer. That stuff is so disgusting. they also had Starbucks Coffee available for $3. Oh and I forgot to mention they have a kolache special of two small ones with coffee. I just got one to taste. The Kolache had good flavor and texture. I didn't try the tamale. Maybe next time. I would like to come back. read more

We went to get donuts this morning, our grandkids are visiting. We went to Rise N Shine Donuts and discovered that they sale kolaches. My older 2 granddaughters each got the regular kolaches. My husband and I each got the Boudin kolache,. We also got various donuts and donuts holes! Everyone needs to go try the kolaches especially the boudin ones, they are delicious! The donuts a good too but the kolashes stole the show! Yum, after eating mine, I had no room for donuts! read more
