The dumplings we tried were excellent. We ordered pork and scallion fried and shrimp and chive steamed and they were both great. An order has a dozen so it's best to come with a number of people so you can sample different types. Ah-ma-zing!! We spend the summer in Dutchess County and we're looking for something other than our usual dinner meals. This did not disappoint! I had a very horrible experience eating this place. I walked in and waiter just ignored me until I had to asked him I am already to order. when food was ready, the waiter didn't serve the food and the another person who I believed it is the owner. I also ordered 5 orders of dumplings for takeout. when I finished my meal and ready to pay, the guy asked me if I pay in cash, I will get discounts. but I didn't carry so much cash and I paid in credit card. instead of giving my check, they showed me to pay on computer. even though they didn't show me what I order, on screen I just read a total amount , plus they showed me either I have to leave 15 %, 20%,.. tips ... for whole experience I had meal at this place was not very comfortable and delightful. I have lived in the village of Wappingers my whole life on the same street as this place and had never been before about 2 weeks ago. Came in after seeing so many great reviews and they sure lived up! I got the pork and chive (a few times) both steamed and fried, both ways are great but not different enough to recommend spending an extra $2 to get them fried. The ginger sauce is perfect. This place is quick, decently priced, and delicious. It's my new go-to when I'm not sure what I want to eat, especially since they're around the corner! You can call in your order and they give you an order # to give when you pick them up, pay inside. You can also eat in. Really great and def recommend. Palace dumplings is a lil hidden true gem in a rando strip mall near the bowling alley and some smoke shops.. don't let this facade fool you. Once you check the menu and see their dishes in person, and hold on.. TASTE, the magic.... you will understand. Palace Dumplings has the most delicious authentic dumplings in this area. They are made fresh in house and have so many options for fillings. My favorites are pork with cabbage and lamb with mushroom. One order is a dozen dumplings, and they come either steamed or fried (great both ways, though note that the fried option includes a $2 surcharge). I also love their vegetable fried rice and soy sauce flavored lo mein. There are delicious vegetarian options (including the vegetarian dumplings) which are not a downgrade version of their meat counterparts. To complement whatever you order, add their chili oil - it is divine. Every chili crisp or chili oil pales in comparison to Palace Dumpling's. When I am away from the area, I miss Palace Dumplings and their chili oil. The ambiance is casual which is comfortable. It is a good place to go on a chill night out with friends. Because the portions are large, it is a great spot to order a few plates and share amongst yourselves. The dining room is not large, so it is important to be courteous to other diners when you go with a big group. Pricing is reasonable for the area and great for the quality and quantity of food you receive. I attend school up route nine from them, so it is really nice to know a place that serves phenomenal food at a price that I can fit in my limited budget. As a college student, I do wish their hours of operation were wider, particularly later at night. There was one time when my friend and I went to eat, we finished our meal as they were closing, but they still let us stay inside while waiting for our ride to arrive. I'm a long time patron of the Palace Dumpling... The Quality of the has no doubt deteriorated since the initial opening... In it's prime -- a 5-Stars rating hands down. Delicious handmade dumpling wrap (which gave that chewy texture), well seasoned, supple portion, etc. Everything was great. As the years gone by, I noticed that the portions have reduced and today when we went, the side dish portion shrunk even more and I noticed they switched to the premade dumpling wrap, which was a BIG disappointment for me. While majority of the dumplings were still delicious and flavored well, the beef w. Onion dumplings were slightly saltier than I would've liked. The Service was also very slow. They only had 2 people serving plus the older gentleman. They don't seem to have a good flow as many dishes were delayed and we weren't checked on by the waiters (sometimes we were tired of waiting and got up to get our own beer). Very disappointed to see this happening to one of my fav Chinese restaurants, especially it seems that the business is blooming. I've had their dumplings before. And they're good. however, they change something in the menu. I went in by myself. I figured I'd order about a dozen dumplings like an assortment or three different types. the guy said they don't do assortments - that I have to eat all 12 dumplings of one kind. I said, but I'm alone you expect me to eat 12 vegetarian dumplings? I mean why can't I have four shrimp four vegetable and four chicken, for example. No can-do - it is the dumbest cuisine configuration I've ever encountered. I walked out. If you had three or four people then it makes sense go in order two or three orders of dumplings that you could share and split it, but if you're alone or even just two people, this place makes no sense. read more

We have been going here for years and the dumplings are the absolute best. They are all made, dough as well, on premises. The owner told me that she grinds her own pork for the dumpling filling. The noodles are hand pulled and the soups are great. If you like spice, get the spicy version. read more

Ok went here after researching Chinese food and came here based on yelp recommendations. Wow oh wow was I surprised at how good this place was. The food was a 10 out of 10 the place was spotlessly clean and the service was very good. I had the best wonton soup I have ever eaten and I have has wonton soup all over the world including many places in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan and the food here stacks up against the best Chinese food places I've been too. The dumplings were the best e Ed and I will be stopping by at least once a week to pick some up. You need to try this place asap. But not all of you otherwise it will be too busy. No I mean it come. Dumplings were good, but we had to wait over an hour for them. The small staff worked hard, but they prioritized a HUGE banquet take-out order that was phoned in, making all the in-person diners wait forever while they fulfilled that one order. One by one the sit down diners got up, paid for the appetizers and left, once they realized that "Just five more minutes" wasn't true, and really meant an indeterminately long time. I would suggest they either: 1. Put the focus on people that are actually on premises. 2. Be honest and tell them how long the wait really is, or 3. Also had: Spicy kimchee salad - DELISH Egg & tomato noodles - something I've never tried before .. it has a sweet flavor, very comforting Horseradish cucumber - refreshing but has a kick at the same time Hot & sour soup - so much better than your average Chinese takeout, less salty I can't wait to try more dumplings - we'll probably just keep a checklist of the menu! Ok now I want dumplings after writing this review (even at 7:30 am) **after returning many times, I want to add: -be mindful if you order the lo mein. I have been there twice and both times found the gentleman running the register rude. For example, on my last visit I had called in an order. When I went in to pick up the order there was one person in front of me paying for her meal. After the person in front of me finished her transaction, the guy working the register started going through some paperwork while I patiently waited in front of him. When he was done he decided it was more important to go clean a vacated table even though nobody was waiting to be seated. As he was passing me I mentioned to him that I was there to pick up an order. Apparently it was more important for him to clear the vacated table that nobody was there to sit at than retrieve my order. I left without my order and will not be going back. read more
