He has deteriorated more mentally and physically since he's been there and they do nothing to take care of him. He's fallen out of bed numerous times. If I didn't live so far away from there, I'd be there giving them hell for how they are treating him. They are robbing him of his dignity.

She was moved to the dementia unit. I saw it once, and it was a sad place, but these places are sad at their core. So I can't give it five stars for fancy, Hollywood facilities. But Ivy Lodge over-all feels more like a home than a facility, and by the time someone moves to the dementia floor, they need constant care, comfort, reassurance, supervision, and careful monitoring. These, they have. The people there cared about her, they did their best for her, and they continued to see her as an individual, not a patient. She is gone now, and for her sake I am relieved. But I believe she had good care, she was kept as comfortable as she could possibly be, and the staff sincerely felt a sense of personal loss when she was gone. They are, in my book, heroes.

Communication has been excellent, and they have gone above and beyond to find aides my picky aunt will like, and to work with me on scheduling so I can extend our home care budget to cover just the hours I need. The aides I've worked with have been wonderful, knowledgeable, patient and compassionate people. I can say the same about Vitaliy and Julie. I highly recommend!

Everyone truly cares about each individual, and they tailor the regimens to each person. The daytime nursing staff - the nurses and the aides- are all caring and even though they are worn thin and always running around, they take the time to get to know you as a person. The night shift on the other hand is a different story. I'm not sure what the issues are, but trying to get someone to answer your call bell can take 30 minutes. There is always a lot of very loud conversations happening, and the aides hang out in chairs in the hallway. A few of the aides seem to be really tired from trying to accomplish tasks while others just hang out by the nurses. Overall the care is good, the therapy is awesome - however the food is almost completely inedible.
