It's a good neighborhood pizza place. Friendly staff, clean and plenty of parking. Out of the many pizza places in that area, I would vote this one top. My only hesitation to a 5 star is their prices are a little higher and the menu in their website does not reflect their current pricing. A large cheesesteak was $7.50 and now it's $11 or $12. I know they can't control costs going up but it would be nice to have the accurate prices on the website for ordering purchases. I did take out so I can't comment on the experience of dinning in but they do have a good amount of seating and could shift things to accommodate a large group. Cheesesteak was perfect but the bread was a little soggy since it's not a hard roll. Tuna salad was one of the best I've had! Love how they make their recipe. My family always loves anything we eat from Palermo's. Sometimes it is take out and other times we sit down. Most of the time we get cheesesteaks there and they are always enough for 2 full meals! One of my biggest complaints of this area is everything closes early (around 7/8PM). On the Thursday we arrived in nearby Intercourse, PA, we had a late lunch and weren't hungry until after 7. It seemed like our only options were fast food / chain restaurants. In came Palermo Pizza with takeout options and 388 4+ star reviews on Google (sorry Yelp) that sold us. This is a pretty small, nothing fancy Italian restaurant that also sells bottled beer, which was cool! Staff was speaking Italian to eachother so we knew it was legit. We ordered quite a bit for a group of 5 (apps, salad, pizza, stromboli, and two six packs of local beer) and it only came to $77. That's an insanely good price. Especially if you saw how much food we got. Prices are phenomenal. Apps are anywhere from $5 - $7. The white pie was by far my favorite. Very garlicky and big scoops of ricotta across the pie. I was disappointed in the mozz sticks as they tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. We got a buffalo chicken stromboli which was HUGE for the "medium" size but I wasn't crazy about the buffalo sauce they used. My husband and I are from Massachusetts. We stopped in for a quick bite. The waitress " a girl from Jersey " was the highlight of our dinner. You could've get any friendlier!! Everyone in the place was treated like family and they all truly seemed to love this girl ! The food was delish although I would have liked the pizza to be cooked a bit more. I stopped at Palmero's for the first time this afternoon and purchased a chicken, bacon and cheese sesame roll (rectangular mini-calzone) and meat roll (ham, pepperoni and cheese) sesame roll (rectangular mini-calzone), each costing $4.70. Both rolls were bread-dominated, flavorless concoctions with bread so crusty that a sharp serrated knife and considered force were required to cut the crusty logs. Today's experience is a far cry from what I'm accustomed to in the Philadelphia suburbs. Ingredients at Palermo's were devoid of personality (Bland! Since when does pepperoni and cheese not have a distinctive taste?) and filling which comprised about one-fifth of the rolls. Chicken gristle was found in the chicken and bacon roll. I can only assume that Palermo's depends mostly on one-time tourist trade. On a positive note, a warm and welcoming waitress turned my visit into an upbeat experience. read more

This is a really hard review to write mainly because it's one of hubby's favorite places to eat. He drives here alone on the regular from our house in Landisville - that's a distance of 24 miles one way! So when he invited me to join him one Friday evening I jumped at the chance. Finally a place I don't have to think of or suggest! He knows me well and knows pizza places aren't my thing so that was fully disclosed to me. However since he gets a favorite pasta dish I thought to myself on the drive there that it has to be a bit more than just pizza. Nope, it's a standard pizza joint. Complete with the tacky faux Italian murals, office florescent lighting, yet prices higher than Olive Garden. And it was cold. Like painfully cold. I hated to have my feet on the floor as the cold radiated thru my body. Changing seats to one closer to the kitchen did nothing to remedy the situation, nor did dining with my coat on and ordering hot chocolate. Did they not pay their heat bill or what?!? I was uncomfortable from the moment we walked in till we left. Hubby ordered his favorite dish, chicken Alfredo and I took a chance on a dish featuring artichokes, chicken, sausage and my choice of pasta. At nearly $15 a dish I found the prices excessive for this type of establishment. I requested no peppers on my dish, yet it was served with peppers. I thought I could pick them off but when I tried the sauce the heat from the peppers penetrated the sauce. Our waitress took it back and claimed they made new but I felt they did little more than add olive oil to the sauce to cut thru the heat. The artichokes were few and far between. The dish itself was just meh but the pasta was cooked well. I sampled hubby's dish and while the butter was evident so was the flour. Instead of his sauce being smooth and velvety it was thick and over floured. I know our tastes are vastly different but even I was surprised that he's that impressed. I must say our server was attentive. I really wish I could give her a better review. She checked back often and knows how to "service" her customer. However her appearance wasn't clean. I don't know if she moonlights as a mechanic but her cuticles and fingernails were insanely dirty. She also had a crusty sore on her face. But her worst offense was touching my husband - three times to be exact - as she checked on us. A brush on the arm, a pat on the shoulder, a caress of the hand. Yes I counted and watched that facial sore crack with each flirty smile...... The worst offense beside the temperature, prices, and questionable waitress was the lack of toilet paper in the ladies room. AND the fact that it took five minutes and asking three different employees until they finally grabbed the ONLY toilet paper in the building - a half of a roll - from the men's room. Someone even made the comment that the ball was dropped and no one ordered toilet paper. How does one allow there to be no toilet paper on a Friday night full of customers yet there's a Dollar Store next door...SMFH....... read more

We recently moved to the area and finally tried Palermo Pizza. We ordered sandwiches to go and took them home. I had a mushroom cheese steak, and my husband had a chicken parm sandwich. The meat and mushrooms on the cheese steak were great, and the portion was huge! The chicken parm was really good too. The cheese they use here is amazing, as is their home-baked bread. Yes, I've been privy to many a quality pizza joint here in NYC... perhaps some of the best pizza I've ever tasted in the world; sure I ain't been to Europe before (including the homeland of pizza, in the great boot... i.e. Italy), but the amalgamation of cultures that is New York should generate a fairly comparable product relative to its place of origin (one would think... especially after considering the amount of legitimate businesses made up of persons hailing from the countries of their respective cuisines). But I digress about the diversity and wealth of legitimacy that NYC food establishments have when it comes to the authenticity of their cuisines... as we have a legit spot right here in little New Holland. We definitely were not disappointed. Our server asked us if we were "first timers" and we confirmed that we were. She brought us a plate of the garlic knots as a welcome. They were undoubtedly the best tasting knots we've ever had! We ordered the double pizza with steak, which would be similar to a cheesesteak stromboli, if I had to describe it.
