What a crazy experience. Tonight my cousin is here for a visit. We ordered a pizza from Palermo's on 63rd street. It was a complete disaster. A large pizza and salad was $58 and it took 2.5 hours to be delivered. When I called the manager was screaming at me that he's short handed and very busy and there's nothing he can do. The people who took our order on the phone were very nice. And the delivery guy was just as nice. That's what the two stars are for. The food, I placed a $230 order, was almost inedible. I don't mind a sweeter pizza sauce but their sauce is so sweet and full of sugar that you can't eat the pizza. The mostaccioli was overcooked and mushy to the point over half of it was thrown away also instead of a vodka sauce it was more of a cream sauce that they added some red sauce to which is not a vodka sauce. And the fried chicken was slightly overcooked but it had the taste of being fried in old oil. The Caesar salad had cucumbers and tomatoes in it and regular lettuce. The antipasto salad was the best thing we ordered. They really need to cut the sugar in their sauce and pasta should never be cooked to the point it's mush. It's a shame because the people were so nice that I'd like to support this restaurant again but the food was so bad I just can't. read more

Called and ordered a pizza at 7 :41 on July 4. Never received my pizza. Tried to call at 9pm, 9:05pm, 9:15 pm, 9:20pm and 9:25pm, nobody answered. Called on July 5th and spoke to a gentleman with a distinctive Italian accent. He said the card was rejected. I advised him that someone incorrectly put in the expiration date. He insisted he put it in the way I told him, even though I never spoke to him before. He said he tried to call me and told him that I checked my phone records and there was no call. He then backed away from that claim and said it was very busy. They may have good pizza but their Customer Service is pathetic. He never tried to make anything right. He just only explained why nothing was his fault. Will NEVER purchase anything from them. Ordered a medium pizza... online it states a medium pizza is 22.75 plus 1.60 for a topping if you add delivery fee which is 2.75, My order should have been 27.10 plus tax. I just paid $36 and added tip, which was a total of $40. We call the store and the guy says the online prices are not correct... so not only are you scamming customers but the pizza wasn't even great. read more

Wow, just wow. One of the bests sauces I've ever had on a pizza (sweet sauce). Upon entering we were greeted by the legend himself, Frank (the owner) is still slinging pies and is truly a master of his craft. Service was friendly and welcoming. Had heard about Palermos on the facebook group "Chicago-style thin crust pizza forever". They have a couple of locations and we dined in the one near Midway on 63rd street. We were greeted at the door and stepped back in time into the dining room. Our waitress Lilly was outstanding, she was friendly and very attentive. The owner Frank came out and talked to all of us and promised our grandsons ice cream. The Pizza was outstanding, the cheese sticks huge, and my wifes Spaghetti with with wine and brocolii made her happy. Yes the sauce is sweet and that was fine with us. I like most any pizza, but would rate the Pizza as exceptional as was the graciousness of the owner and staff. We had plenty of leftovers from our large sausage and small cheese. And as we were in a rush to get to Midway, Lilly put the leftovers in containers and Frank per his promise put the boys Italian Ice in containers for them to take it with them. No steaks or veal No risotto No Cavatelli No Artichokes My partner got the fettuccine Alfredo and the chicken tasted like it was from KFC and was very rubbery in texture. Very poorly done. Our server was friendly but she had very long hair past her shoulders that was not secured. When serving food, hair should be in a high ponytail or a bun. It should not be free-flowing. The minestrone soup had no noodles in it. Only carrots and peas. There were also several fruit flies on the wall. For someplace that have been voted best in class in 2016 I cannot believe how downhill it's gone. Just sad. Will not be back. read more

OMG! This pizza is soo good. It's saucy more than other pizzerias and the sauce is just a hint of sweet...., so good I can't stop eating it. The crust is thin - it's not like paper but definitely not overly crusty. The seasoning enhanced the pizza. We had the pizza delivered for a corporate meeting w some salads. I had a lot of hope for this place! I was in town for a long layover so we went to our trusted source of Yelp, to find a new restaurant in the area. We were on the south side near O'Hare and had a taste for Italian. We found this gem. Now to its defense, you can tell it once was a neighborhood staple. But that have been a very long time ago. The place is outdated in every aspect. The decor looks like it's from the 80s. The menus are extremely warn, what's listed on them isn't valid, and corrections were made with sharpie. We asked for the most popular appetizer, but wanted a whole meal. After the mozzella sticks came out, we quickly changed our mind. They were frozen burnt, and the breading was so thick. Less than desirable to say the least. The two stars is simply for The service. Very personable, even the chef came out to welcome us. I absolutely love that. But everything else, not recommended. Based on reviews, may be a different experience at night. I unfortunately won't be back to find that out. read more

GO HERE! Y'all need to stop going to awful chain restaurants like Olive Garden, etc. and go to real family-owned spots like Palermo's. They've got the sweet sauce on their pizza and it's divine! I've also had the gnocchi with the vodka sauce and it was delicious. I would not, however, order the salad that comes with the meal - it literally has water in it - and don't order any "weird" cocktails like a dirty gin martini LOL. We had a group dinner this past weekend. 41 people were lucky enough to dine at this traditional family Italian restaurant. The pizza appetizers were gone in 5 minutes. Best Palermo's restaurant in Illinois. Don't be fooled by the name of the knock offs. Ingredients are way better than 95th st. The service is ten times better. You want different prices everytime call 95 th st. I live in evergreen park and still would choose 63rd over oak lawn. I've had rude encounters also with the one on 95 th also. My wife and I wanted to have date night and we chose Palermo's 63rd street because at one time it was very good. But we walked in to sit down and have dinner. My wife says the menu is stating 6 dollars a person for Soda. Then she shows me an order of cheese sticks is 15.50. We asked the waitress and she's said the menus were a bit old and out dated on prices. But that only tells me things hadn't changed and we were walking out very quickly to not have a bad experience at a restaurant we've been eating for 35 years. It's 2023 and people aren't flocking to this place anymore. Chicago's best came here twice and I don't see what they see. Sadly this place has gone down hill. My wife said they use to be booming on Friday nights. And you couldn't find parking. Now plenty of parking and no one's going inside. We should have known better but I was gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. Not the case we walked out. I'd of gave them no stars but Yelp asked me to give star. Frank please relook at your menus and quality on sauce of pizza it's way to sweet. And your food prices are not in line with the area you're in. read more

I can't believe this place only has 4 stars. We moved to the neighborhood a year ago and checked it out because it was so close to our house. Since then we have been about 6 times in the last year, not including times we've had pizza delivered. I love the sweet sauce of the pizza when getting food delivered, and I love the fancier options (like the absolutely incredible lobster ravioli) when dining in.
