I was surprised our hosts didn't take advantage of the extensive grounds! So many cool spaces to expand the party to! I hear the rental price is really affordable. I shopped around in Seattle and Bothell--and Cherry Falls had far more ambiance at a better price than the big city offerings. We liked the large windows in the back that showed the trees and forest (our family member who passed was an avid hiker and outdoor lover). There is a kitchen that includes a 30-cup coffee maker, as well as two lovely water dispensers, and much more. There is a large screen with the electronics and speakers to show a slide show or movie. The parking lot is huge, the place is easy to find, right off the road, but it feels peaceful and secluded. The proprietor, Autumn, met us there to go through the electronics and the other details, and before I showed with all my snacks and flowers, she'd already put white tablecloths on all five (huge) tables, and pulled out additional smaller tables for pictures and memorabilia. Everything was spotlessly clean, including a large bathroom and cloakroom. Really, we couldn't have asked for more. I whole-heartedly recommend this venue!

It doesn't get much better than a great bottle of wine and the spectacular view here. The Old Alcohol Plant Inn is a very beautiful three star hotel that is an excellent place to rejuvenate and unwind if you have an artistic or a romantic soul. This is a 115 year old industrial building that has been converted into a very unique hotel. We recently stayed at one of the top five star hotels in Seattle and I would say we had a way better time with way better hospitality here. The passion and the pride that goes into this hotel and property is unlike anything we've experienced and made us huge fans of this place. Looking to escape the record heatwave, we booked a couple days here at the Old Alcohol Plant Inn and spent a couple days bumming around Port Hadlock and Port Townsend. We had a great time! First checking in, we were greeted by the front desk who were some of the best we've encountered. Super nice and everything was great and easy. I really have to compliment the hospitality and how nice the front desk staff was as it was noteworthy. We booked the executive suite on the 4th floor and we loved it! A huge 1,000 square foot room with a bedroom separated from the main room by a unique step up higher level design. We really liked the hot tub in the room and everything was very nice. The bathroom also had a unique setup with both a bathtub/shower and a separate shower. This suite also had a very cool outdoor balcony you could hang out on. One of the more unique hotel suites we've had The best thing about the executive suite was the spectacular view looking out over the marina, the beautiful garden and the ocean. My wife and I loved just gazing out at the water and the garden from our room and watching the world go by. Incredibly relaxing and nice. I really was impressed with the passion and the staff here. Every person we interacted with was exceptional, passionate and working extremely hard. From the front desk staff who were one of our most pleasant travel experiences. To the lady working in the restaurant who never stopped moving tending so many different tables and people. To the gardener we saw working his butt off in the heat pulling weeds in the garden and keeping it beautiful. To John, the maintenance man. I really have to give a shoutout to John who was AWESOME!!! Just a great dude. We were having an issue with our air conditioner in our room and John came up, took care of everything and was just a pleasure to deal with. The entire team here really pulled together to make our experience here great. I felt they were exceptional and went above and beyond any other travel experience we've had recently. We only had a bottle of wine in the restaurant so I cannot comment on the food, but I thought the lady waitress was amazing with how hard she was working. There was only one lady working four different areas with two dining rooms, outside and a bar area. So we were more than forgiving and understanding as she was doing her best to take care of everyone. But the lady was great and we enjoyed hanging out in there. Cool space. I really enjoyed learning about the history here. Looking at all of the neat photographs and work. And appreciating how loved and unique this place is. From the scores of famous artists and thinkers who've spent time here. To looking at all of the architecture inside and thinking about how this place was built in 1911 originally as a factory to convert sawdust into alcohol. I have to admit this place isn't going to be for everyone. Being a 115 year old building and the nature of this hotel being part of a bigger overall community help project, there will be some quirks and eccentric qualities to this hotel. There's no pool here and there's not a whole lot for kids here. Also if you're some Karen who thinks you're going to get a 5 star experience for under $500 a night in a 115 year old building, not only are you delusional but this may not be for you. But if you're a romantic or an artist type. You'd like to create a special memory with a special someone. Or you'd just like to drink some wine, enjoy some beauty and mellow out in great vibes, it is hard to beat the Old Alcohol Plant Inn. A great place to stay for relaxation or if you want to explore Port Townsend and the local area.

After a bit of time passed we did get a reservation here and we had a great time! This Inn was once an old alcohol plant which fell into disrepair and was abandoned for a while but was eventually converted into an Inn. There is a restaurant here but we didn't make it in there to try any of the food. We either came in too late or left too early which was outside of business hours for it so I can't provide any feedback there. I believe the restaurant itself has it's own Yelp entry. Our stay here was extremely peaceful and quiet. We absolutely loved that aspect about it. We slept well and had a great view of the water when morning rolled around. Our stay here I suspect falls in the out of season time and so the reception desk called us to confirm we were coming as it was getting a little bit later and then as the drive back to the Inn was taking longer than we thought we called the front desk to make sure they were still there to receive us. I suspect they do this in the off season so the front desk can close earlier if it's slow. I am not sure if they do this sort of thing when it's not in off season but I suspect they may not as much since it's probably busier. So point being they don't appreciate if you just roll in any old time of the night despite a reservation. It's nothing negative to point out with this but more of a heads up if one considers getting a room here in particular during the off season (which is great by the way... so peaceful and quiet).

We first met the owner, Keith, at the Field Arts and Events Hall Wedding Expo. He was personable, helpful, and very accommodating. He had several suggestions--while open to all of our ideas--for where we could hold the ceremony and how we could arrange seating. He was also open to us returning in the evening so we could have amazing photos taken during the "golden hour" lighting. And to top it off, he even supplied the lavender for our wedding reception centerpieces! And as a side note, there was ample parking for our 100 guests. In the end, we can't imagine how our wedding could have turned out any better! If you're getting married on the Olympic Peninsula, you should definitely take a good look at Flatiron Fields. We could not be any happier with our experience. --CB and Edwina Bell

TERRIBLE venue management under the guise of a beautiful space…read more In short, three months after signing with The Barn at Holly Farm we were told management would rather start a year of self-initiated renovations than honor their contract with us. Their decision not only affected us, but at least nine other couples who had booked weddings there too. For my fiancé and me, this left us with less than 7 months before the wedding date to find a new venue and re-plan our entire event. It took over a month for us to find a new space that could accommodate our wedding size indoors. To receive a full refund, we were expected to sign a document that stated we wouldn't make any comments which "may, directly or indirectly, disparage" The Barn at Holly Farm (obviously we did not accept those terms). It then took over a month to receive the funds for The Barn's breach of contract. I hope no other couple has to experience The Barn at Holly Farm's mismanagement and the nightmare experience they caused at least 10 couples in 2021!

We worked with Karmel as well as a flower vendor (Dirty Girl) and photographers (GSquared) whom Karmel recommended. Part of the reason we were drawn to this venue is because of the good works that they do with equine therapy and rescued farm animals. Our experience with the Barn was fantastic. We really hit it off with Karmel and she made planning the wedding fun and low stress. The vendors she recommended also did a great job and at the end of the day, are just good people. I feel like they all connected with us on a personal level. One fun perk this venue offered is for a small fee someone from the Barn takes guests out to meet some of the animals (chickens, goats, llamas, etc.) during the social hour before the reception. This was a lovely and charming way to start the celebration. I think that what we paid was fair for the service we received. The only snafu at the very end was having to pack our own stuff even though we paid extra for the clean-up service, but it was mostly just our personal belongings and it wasn't a big deal. There's always a little wedding drama - in this case our own guests, and the way that Karmel and vendors went about handling it to reduce the stress on us was beautifully done. They were respectful and discreet and we were incredibly grateful for their support. The space itself on the day of the wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was set up exactly as we had planned. It was a truly magical day and I'm so glad we chose the Barn to get married. I'd do it all over again. :)
