Michelle and David are wonderful hosts, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We especially loved having breakfast on the porch each morning. Michelle is a fantastic cook, and the food was absolutely delicious! The location is ideal--just a short walk to downtown Palisade. Wow. We came here as a reference by friends and we couldn't have been more impressed. The owners are absolutely delightful and the food Michelle prepares is amazing. I am gluten free and she was respectful of that and made us the most amazing breakfasts. It is located close to downtown Palisade and has everything you could need. read more

The owners are very nice but the overall stay wasn't worth the hype/cost in my opinion. The guest experience wasn't the main objective of our stay. We stayed in the king room with a clawfoot tub and (same space as the bedroom) and it was VERY tight. Too small in my opinion especially for my 6'3 boyfriend. When you step out you're on the mini ledge of where they added tile to place the tub... you have to be careful to step farther out so you don't trip or misstep. The bedrooms have no lock so you aren't given a key when you leave... you follow the "trust system" that no one will go into your room. The bathroom door doesn't properly shut and the knob almost came off when turning it. The bedroom TV remote doesn't work so you have to manually turn it on/up/etc and the Roku is so slow it crashes on you. Both need upgrades. There is no private mini fridge in the rooms - one is shared across the entire floor with the other guests. Breakfast is included but the website mentioned a small menu selection... that's not the case. The owners choose one menu item to offer the day before and will only serve it on the porch. We wanted to eat in the garden by the fountain but we're told to move directly next to other people where they chatted us up. The entire experience wasn't romantic or private - it was a forced social gathering. We expected local produce to be served but it was a slice of melon and 3 small unseasoned potatoes with a chicken enchilada omelette... No other options. The coffee bar didn't have any dairy free alternatives - only one single creamer. The website mentions they are on a tour but the owners failed to mention you need to book these things yourself, nothing is included and all the local food books up so you need to reserve that too. We loved visiting palisade but the B&B was run down, needs maintenance, and the owners need to shift to a more guest focused experience. If you want a private and romantic place to stay... this isn't it. read more

The word that comes to mind is "Tired". When my wife called Dave to arrange to stay, it was mentioned that they (Him and Michelle) were tired. It was closing in on the end of the 'season' for them and it showed. (The price didn't come down for the end of season though.) Most every feature, water fountain, back yard, hot tub area, bar area outside looked uninviting. We chose not to sit down in the back yard because the chairs where so filthy. And that was just the common areas. The location is awful. Right on one of the busiest corners in the town. If you were on the front porch area you had to stop talking until traffic passed to carry on a conversation. Non stop traffic. With the window air conditioner in our room, it's like an open window to the traffic noise. And let's not forget the trains that run all hours of the day and night blowing their horn through at least a dozen intersection through town! Good luck trying to sleep. The breakfast was skimpy. Not like the pictures on their website. The pictures are apparently when they first started their business. It's apparently been down hill from there. There are junky looking vehicles parked off to the side of the property. The bedroom plug-in was so old and worn out that when I tried to plug in my phone charger it fell out. You get the picture. Don't get me wrong, Dave and Michelle seem like nice people. For what they charge and what you get, I would not recommend it. I would not recommend staying in Palisade at all because of the trains. A lovely and personal inn that my sister and I loved. Michelle greeted us like family, even at 10pm, as a rain storm and construction delayed our arrival. We had fresh flowers and red wine in our room and an extremely comfortable bed. The next morning, we had the most Incredible orange blueberry pancakes topped with local peaches!!!! They were divine! Great customer service, comfortable rooms, and an atmosphere that made us feel like friends or family--- I will definitely be returning with my husband next time! read more

Michelle & Dave are most accommodating! We enjoyed Palisade's Annual Peach Festival at this comfortable B&B. The location is superb; the hot breakfasts were all amazing--cinnamon raisin toast from the local Palisade Bakery, topped with fresh peaches on the day we departed. Well I must echo everyone else with the compliments of this place. Michelle and Dave greeted my gf and I with wine. Always a win. Those two are so awesome, friendly, and just over all rock stars. The property is super fun. Great backyard space. Michelle let us know that they were vegetarian, which is fine, but the bfasts, with the exception of omelet day, were quite sugar/carb heavy, which would be fine, if I wasn't pounding wine all day. I mean, vegetarians can still cook bacon or sausage right? Anywhoo, everything was still delicious and I really can't say enough nice things about Dave and Michelle or their place. Loved the backyard area for hanging out - it was really pleasant. The bathroom was a little mildewy and the shower curtain desperately needed replacing, and some surfaces were dusty/cobwebby. Breakfasts were good, but a little light for my husband. At check-in, we mentioned that he was a big eater, but he was still served the same size portion and no opportunity for more. I guess we could have asked, but didn't feel comfortable if it wasn't offered. We also thought it was a little weird that so much amazing fruit is at it's peak of ripeness in Palisade right now, but none if it was served at breakfast. Instead we got bananas and melon. Why not buy local and seasonal? Or pick the grapes growing right on their property? We did love the basil from the garden in the omelette though! read more

My wife and I decided to explore the peach and wine country area to take a break from the big city Denver area for the weekend. First piece of business is to find the right place to stay. Expedia, Travelocity, etc. yielded few results since there really is not much in the area. Further searching found a few B&Bs and we decided on this one. Good choice! Michelle and Dave were excellent hosts in their historic home. Breakfasts were ample and fresh made with ingredients from local bakers and farms. The house is beautiful and comfortable with great outdoor space. Within walking distance from the house are a distillery, a brewery, and at least a couple of wineries right in town. Inari's restaurant in town is walkable and is a good choice for dinner. Reservations recommended. Another visit to this area we will certainly book here again! Good times! read more

Dave and Michelle make you feel like old friends. The house and grounds are adorable. The breakfasts on the porch were lovely. We brought our bikes and hit several wineries in a few hours. Then walked into town to hit the brewery, the distillery, a dive bar and had a decent meal too. The location is perfect. I really can't wait to go back. read more

We love coming to Palisade from Denver. The community is great, relaxing, and a needed break from the hustle and bustle of Denver. We have stayed in a couple of places in Palisade before, but nothing compares to the Palisade Wine Valley Inn. To start with, Dave and Michelle are fantastic hosts. We rented the two rooms in the carriage house for our stay as It was my wife and I and our daughter. The rooms are nice, and the extra privacy of the carriage house was nice for the three of us. Each morning we had a wonderful breakfast on the porch, and were able to relax with coffee, juice and games of chess. Being in the middle of town we were able to easily get to downtown, and the wineries. At the end of the week, we were relaxed, and have made new friends. I cannot recommend this place enough. After several stays at the only other accommodation in Palisade (to remain nameless here!), we decided it was time for a change, and I'm I ever glad we did so! We've enjoyed the more intimate attention to detail of many B & B's in the past, so our expectations were fairly high. Dave & Michelle didn't disappoint. From the glass of wine served immediately upon our arrival at the inn, to the tour of the house by Michelle (and it's obvious there is great pride in their unique treasures), we really felt right at home. They make sure to check on you often enough to ensure your comfort, but not too often to be intrusive. We loved sitting out on the porch late into the evenings, visiting with both them and a number of guests, and even getting in a few games of corn hole one afternoon with Dave & Michelle. We feel like we truly met new friends after our weekend there during the annual Peach Festival (technically, my husband & my Wine Fest since we visit tasting rooms all weekend). Each breakfast included something peach related with fresh backyard herbs & berries, which we REALLY enjoyed, since the above (unnamed) hotel has never bothered to do so...even after several emails from yours truly. I can understand why the Palisade Wine Valley Inn has a number of repeat guests year after year, and fills up months in advance for local festival weekends. Finally, I have to add how grateful I was when Dave called to tell me I'd left some jewelry there and he requested my home address to send it to me. Never, never, has any innkeeper called to do so - and I'm sure there are a few of you out there who've left cell chargers, etc behind, who can relate to the importance of this service. This place is truly as good as gets. Michelle and Dave are wonderful and by the end of the weekend I felt like they were family! We did a girls weekend takeover at the inn and had the whole place to ourselves. They even cooked for us on Saturday night one of the most delicious taco bars I have EVER had. The Inn is just perfect and certainly has a wonderful laid back, homey feel to it. The back yard is blissful and we spent most of our time there. There is no doubt that I will bring my husband back here for a romantic weekend and to meet Michelle and Dave. It was truly up there with one of my most relaxing, enjoyable weekends ever. We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had a great experience. As far as I know it's the only B&B that's actually in town, which means walking distance from wineries, restaurants, and bars. It was beautifully decorated and had window A/C. The breakfasts were delicious. The backyard was a great place to sit and have a drink. Dave and Michelle were great hosts and very social (without being overbearing). I called a ton of B&Bs in town and this one is comprably priced, so when you add location I think it's a great value. We just got back from a wonderful weekend getaway at the Palisade Wine Valley Inn and we had a great time. This was a surprise weekend getaway to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Dave and Michelle were great in helping me plan some things for her and we had a bottle of wine and a dozen roses waiting in our room when we checked in. They were gracious and welcoming without making the experience strange (we've had odd experiences at other Bed & Breakfasts). The grounds were amazing and the back yard was a great place to relax and unwind. The breakfasts were great, filling and had local fruit. It was also great to be able to walk into town to eat, drink and check out the farmer's market. I'd highly recommend renting or bringing bicycles if you are touring wineries, it's so much better then driving.
