This is an excellent electrician. They are down to earth, extremely knowledgeable and honest. I have worked with Steve and Angel about 5 times now on various projects on my house. I consistently received excellent service. They always try to solve the problem as best as they can, without wasting any time, and are always highly professional. Their prices are very reasonable. They are not greedy and will give you an honest price for the job. It will be difficult to beat their prices. They don't shy away from difficult jobs. Numerous times, they crawled in tiny places, crawlspaces, my attic, without any complaints. It was not easy. One highlight is that I had an old radio from the 70s in my dining room left behind by the previous owners. The radio was broken, but looks like a great antique item. Guess what -- Steve of Palisades Electric fixed it!! So now, I have this great working piece of memorabilia from the 70s in my home. It continues to impress my guests. :-) Palisades Electric pays great attention to detail. In one instance, I asked them to remove an old exterior floor light. After doing so, there was a small crevice left behind. I think an "average" contractor would just leave it as is, but Steve fixed it. I did not ask for it, he just proactively said that he can make it better and fixed it in 5-10 minutes. Made it MUCH better in a short amount of time. I really appreciated that. read more

I could not possibly have been more annoying in seeking service. If I owned the business, I might have forgotten to call me back. When my smoke detectors went rogue at 100 decibels my stereocilia began dying. Add the irregular pattern to the mix and I would have a mini cardiac episode several times a day. Then there was the dog barking. It was a scene. In short, I was on the verge of losing my mind. My nerves were fried when I realized it was the day before the Fourth of July. Turning off the fuse box didn't work because they had a backup battery that I couldn't reach. Palisades Electric called back immediately, scheduled the appointment. Not a "we'll be there between 8-12" window, but "we'll be there around 9AM". What's more? They were actually there at the time stated. They sent two electricians to remove and replace old detectors. Both were very nice. One, in particular, must have an eccentric wife or sister because he seemed more amused than judgmental by my trying to beat the detector off the wall with a broomstick. In under an hour, the job was complete. A+ in every way. Having recovered my hearing, I met up with my best friend, Gloria, and my mother who informed me that my kindergarten teacher, Mrs.Minium, is/was co-owner of Palisades Electric. "She worked at the front desk and did their scheduling for years, but I haven't seen her there in awhile." All I could think was, "Please G-d, let her be retired and/or not manning the voicemail anymore." A pretty demoralizing prospect. Yet I digress... You should use this business because Mrs. Minium was my favorite teacher, it's owned by Palisadians, prices are reasonable, if not low, and they do a perfect job. read more

Service businesses should be good at service and you should not have to play telephone tag when calling. After all, you are calling for their services, to give them business. Steve, the journeyman electrician is superb. Angel who works with him, likewise. They get the job done efficiently because they know what they are doing. These men are not amateurs. Not part-timers. No dabblers. Qualified, experienced tradesmen are now in short supply so it is very refreshing to know of t "old school" pros. Quick story which is emblematic of the quality of the company and Steve. He installed a lighting/security system component but needed to check it out after sunset. I own a townhouse in Santa Monica in a small complex of 5 units. The HOA recently approved the repair and re-design of our outdoor and garage lights. I was the homeowner responsible for securing an electrician, communicating to him our operational and design issues, and coordinating the work. Jamie, the owner of Palisades Electric, provided a thorough and reasonable proposal for the work needed. He patiently explained to me the issues he'd have to address and options for the best lighting for our needs and budget. His written proposal and estimate was approved by the HOA and work commenced quickly after that. At one point, he was going to need access to another homeowner's unit and worked around that homeowner's schedule to complete the job. His electricians did most of the work and were professional and courteous. The job was completed on time (2 days) and the homeowners are thrilled with the work! Better lighting in the garage, efficient and bright security lighting and lighting for individual homeowner's stairs to their unit has provided enchanted safety and security for our complex. These guys are awesome--wish I'd called them sooner! I've battled constant mildew build-up in a small interior bathroom for several years now due to the space having an inadequate exhaust fan and no source of ventilation. The walls and ceiling in the bathroom would often remain wet for many hours after showering. (Honestly, it seemed as if the walls never dried in that bathroom.) Jamie came out to assess the situation and helped me to come up with a solution for the bathroom, which included installing a new exhaust fan as well as a small oscillating ceiling fan. Jamie was very professional and easy to work with and he followed up his visit with a detailed quote the same day. A team of two electricians came out to perform the work. They were professional and courteous, got the two fans installed in the one bathroom, and installed recessed lighting in both of my bathrooms within about 3 hours. It's been a week since they installed the new exhaust fan and oscillating ceiling fan in the problem bathroom, and the difference is AMAZING!! With the new fans, the entire bathroom is bone dry within 25 minutes after showering. Wish I'd thought to call them and have this work done years ago. Such a difference! This company is a complete rip off. They quote you one price, then charge you more than double. I live in the PP, so I tried to hire them several times, as I prefer to patronize local businesses. However, they do not reciprocate by treating their neighbors well. They are rude, arrive late and leave early. Then charge you double and treat you poorly when you complain about being billed twice the estimate. Avoid them, unless you simply need a light bulb changed - at a high premium. read more

I can't say enough about this company. I had an electrical issue in one of our rental units and was quoted between $1750 and $1200 to do the work. It seemed ridiculous so I kept searching. I happened upon Palisades Electric and they took care of everything for $700! They came on time, did perfect work and I have been hiring them ever since. Carolyn who answers the phone is amazing. Since we have quite a few rental units it's sometimes hard to find vendors who will go and get the job done without a lot of hassle. This company is the opposite of hassle. They are amazing. If I could give them 10 stars I most definitely would. Some people and companies just seem to understand what steps need to be done to accomplish a task. They don't ask a million questions, waste your time or piss you off. This type of person is a diamond in my mind. They do things the way you would do them yourself if you could. FANTASTIC! They do everything. Had a chandelier installed - they had all the parts needed besides the tallest ladder ever. Steve and Angel did the work and they were so competent and congenial to work with. We needed some extra chain (which they had) and just little things that were needed. I can't say enough about what an excellent job they did in a timely manner. In the first 3 minutes I knew that they could do the job.
