I recently went to Palm Beach Tan to purchase a one-month membership and some lotion so I could get a basic tan before our wedding in April. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and felt very misleading. The products were advertised as 50% off, but that discount only applied if you bundled and bought multiple items. When you actually do the math, it comes out to essentially the same price as buying a single product at regular cost. That should be clearly explained upfront and not advertised as 50% off all products. I was also told the monthly membership and products would be $89 total. After agreeing to the $89, I inserted my card. Before tanning, I checked my bank account and saw I was charged $109. When I asked why it jumped from $89 to $109, I was told it was "tax." That would be roughly a 22% tax, which is clearly inaccurate. There was no transparent breakdown shown before charging my card. Today is March 4, so I assumed (as anyone would) that a monthly membership would run until April 4. Instead, I was told it would only last until April 1, which makes no sense for a "monthly" membership. When I requested a refund, the two employees at the desk told me they couldn't process one because their manager was in a meeting. When I asked them to call her, suddenly she was available. One employee went into the back to speak to her, then came back out and tried to upsell me to an even higher premier membership with what I just paid instead of simply refunding my money. The lack of transparency, inconsistent information, and pushy sales tactics were extremely frustrating. I would highly recommend asking for a full price breakdown, confirming exact membership dates, and requesting a receipt before swiping your card. I truly hope I receive my refund. read more

I signed up for a tanning membership. I'm in my mid 30s and haven't tanned since my early 20s. I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to most fragrances. I ended up buying some expensive products and the monthly membership. After my first use of the tanning lotion i had an allergic reaction (no one's fault but my own, i know better).. unfortunately that means i needed to cancel my membership and i remember why i stopped tanning. My skin is not meant for these types of things. Anyways, I told the manager and they were so kind, they gave me my money back for the membership, the $25 initial fee and all my money back for the products. It was great customer service. One thing to mention: I think there should be a little more training for people with sensitive skin. I did tell the girl I needed a hypoallergenic line but the one she sold me definitely was not and had a ton of fragrance and ingredients that were not hypoallergenic. I should have paid closer attention to this upon buying so I'll definitely take some responsibility there. But I found out they do have a hypoallergenic line.. i know this because when i went to cancel my membership one of the associates showed me a line that was more natural. I'm not sure why they didn't show me this line to begin with, but I assume it's because they wanted a higher commission with selling me the more expensive line. (I worked retail for years so I can understand the hustle). Anyways, the prices were pretty good and the girls are nice. Definitely check them out if you're looking for a good tan. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! - don't come here unless you absolutely want to waste your money. First I went to get spray tan and followed everything to a T and it came out very very patchy and the color was extremely inconsistent which cost 70$. So I called asked how then can fix it, we agreed to do a tanning bed session with an additional 15$ charge for the small packet of lotion, making my total over 85$ !! I spent 5 minutes in a level 4 bed and the lotion wasn't even enough to cover my body (I'm a small person). Then bed did absolutely nothing. I know it can take 3-4 times in bed before you see results but 85$ for 5 minutes!??! I've been to places the charge 15-25$ for the exact same thing. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

The girls here are great. I love the staff and the manager too. However, I feel like the monthly membership fee for spray tanning for 69 dollars always has another 10 dollar fee for each session. I used the tanning booth where you can pick your colors and that's an additional 5-10 dollars each time. After awhile, I decided that I should just use the versaspa pro to take a break from spending 10 extra dollars a week, and the manager told me that would be an extra 10 dollars since not a lot of people use that machine. So really the membership is not just 69 dollars, it's about 109 dollars a month with all of the 10 dollar extras you have to spend. I canceled my membership and I'm going to another studio where the versaspa is included in the membership for 60 bucks a month. I don't like hidden membership fees, especially in this economy. read more

Tried coming here for a single tanning session after seeing okay-ish reviews online. Even though their website clearly states they do single sessions they refused to let me and told me I had to pay 100 dollars for a four session package. I tried justifying it to myself but after being told I had to use all four tans within 30 days at this location only and as an active duty service member who is stationed in California and only comes to Arizona to visit family it just wasn't feasible. I wish I could've had a better experience but their customer service is just awful and they need some updating to their website. read more

I told them to cancel my member ship, they forgot to, and charged me for the next month then told me there was nothing they could do about it even though it was their fault. They obviously are not trained well and do not care about their customers. I would not waste your money there. read more

First time to this business. Not new to spray tan. Went it as soon as opened and met Mackenzie who works there! She made my first time a real experience. She knew exactly what other extra add ins would amplify and make my spray tan look good and natural. She went into the spray tan and explained the whole process of prepping, spraying, and drying. When I was done she checked on me. Gave me some other home tips. I had spray tans before and never did I get an experience like Mackenzie provided. Cas and the other lovely employee were so kind and helpful when instructing me on how to properly use the Versa spray tan booth. I really enjoyed my experience here and highly recommend this place to anyone in need of a spray tan. The room had everything you needed including barrier cream, baby wipes, disposable footwear, hair nets and even an instructional poster! The salon was clean and had a very welcoming environment. The only reason I am giving one star is because the palm beach tan in Peoria is always so helpful when I've needed them for problems that I have at this Dysart location. Unfortunately, I live close to to this location or I wouldn't even come here. I tanned for years and have never been so unhappy with the service, or lack there of, that I receive here. Specifically their employee Jamie. I have a monthly spray tan membership that includes a bronzer. Several months ago she put me in without the bronzer and when I came out and asked her why she did that she said she didn't know how to do the bronzer so gave me the clear without telling me. I was furious. Then tonight I went in for the clear dark spray that I've gotten 4 times. She put in the medium , when I saw this I politely came out and told her that I was sure it was an accident but could she please put in the dark. She refused to. Even after I spoke with a manager, Katie at the Peoria store she refused to do anything for me, insisting " the machine was wrong" She wasn't even going to answer the phone when the Peoria Mgr tried to call. I took a picture of the machine as proof. It's very frustrating to pay 40.00 a month to tan and receive this type of hostility from this employee almost every time I go in there. If I lived closer to Peoria I would definitely go there. They seem much more customer service oriented and have helped me on at least 3 occasions. read more

Went for the larger package. Included tanning on all beds and spray tans unlimited each month. Literally everytime I tried to use my package the spray tan bed was down. Used the normal beds for 2 months and saw NO difference whatsoever. Dont waste your money. Most of the staff is rude as well about the situation. read more

This tanning salon is awesome. All the employees are great and super friendly. The manager Destiny always helps me by suggesting things to make my spray tan look even better. I have been in other salons where I would walk in and feel awkward with the employees staring at your but this salon is the complete opposite. Very happy with my membership here. read more

This place is awesome! Staff has only ever been friendly and knowledgeable. They are upgrading everything and getting new beds! Their prices are great too. They rolled over everyone's plan from the prior ownership and offer affordable plans. I never have to wait for a bed, they are fast and efficient! Will continue to be a loyal customer! I have been tanning at PBT for years, I was upset when I moved to AZ and there wasn't one down the street. I was so happy when the Avondale PBT opened. They have the best beds and products. I'm never the type to leave a review, good or bad for any place but, Destiny was AMAZING so I feel like I must leave a good review! This is my first time ever get a spray tan. I've always wanted to get it down but never had the money to do so. The memberships are a little pricey but way less than I thought they would be. They had one person ahead of me to use the tanning bed. But Destiny helped tremendously with making me understand the rules & procedures. I'm so happy, even though it's only be 3 hours since getting it done, with the results! I will definitely be coming back next week & might up my membership if I can. It started out a little rocky for me at Palm Beach Tan. My kids were taking me to Europe, I was as white as could be and I hadn't been to a tanning salon in 20 years. The experience went well, I got to know the employees and Destiny was extremely helpful. She was a great manager, extremely hard working and dedicated to her job. I loved the results, everyone commented how great I looked, (everyone told me about their disappointment they had with other tanning salons), and the fear I had about the ordeal aging my skin was unfounded. I just turned 70, so satisfied with Palm beach I'm ready to tan some more!!! read more

I was hesitant to visit this store based on the poor reviews, however my first visit the girl upfront was very helpful and I thought the monthly packages with out a contract were very reasonably priced. Every time I've been the beds have been clean and the girls have always been friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the bed were new and had new bulbs. read more

I started my membership yesterday on July the 5th I did get the bigger more expensive bed. I did tan wasn't even red a little bit but I was thinking might take a couple times . Today July 6th went in to tan found out that you have to wait exactly 24 hours. So yesterday I tanned at 2:21 I got there around 1:53 so I had to wait , which was fine . Also Erica said there is someone in that bed I said okay . I want to mention I was speaking with Erica the girl at the counter . So this guy walks in at 2:20 I looked at my phone was 2:20 and Erica called him by name and asked him what bed does he want , he tells her . I didn't think anything of it remember it's 2:20 . Erica tells him there's still 3 minutes til that beds ready. So the lady walks out of the room I'm going in and the guy gets up and walks back there because Erica told him he's beds ready. So by this time another girl that works there comes in and calls me up to the counter she looks at my account and said oh he went in your bed but we can put you in the stand up. I said what why did you give him my bed I've been here almost 40 minutes and that guy just got here .. the two girls looked dumb founded . Erica said your time wasn't up I said he walked in at 2:20 and the bed still had 3 minutes so why would you put him infront of me cuz you knew his name .. so I got corporate number will see.
