I have been going to celebrity tanning for a few years now. They recently moved to a different unit and it is so much better! It's pretty expensive so I am trying to use up all my tans before summer. The beds are pretty strong so I don't go the full time. The girls that work at the front are very sweet. However they don't let you use protective eye care without paying for it now because of covid. Clean. Lots of beds to choose from. Nice girls are informative. The spray tan booths could be wiped down better between uses. The spray tan booths need to be deep cleaned in and out. When I bump my arm in the outside edge I get old overspray my skin. Floor is slippery & coated with overspray. Maybe there needs to be doors on Versa Pro and the other one too. read more

Love love love this place! I have only one complaint. The girls in front aren't honest about the lotion retail prices. I bought a lotion and was told it retailed for aprox $130. I went home and decided to look it up on amazon for the next time I need lotion (I go through a lot of tanning lotions) the lotion I had purchased was only $60-75. ASU students: Be sure to pick up a copy of the coupon book that is passed around on campus at the begging of each semester. It has great coupons for local places including Celebrity Tanning! I normally use the $10-1 week all beds coupon that allows you to use any bed, even the top beds that are usually $25+ for one use. It's a great way to prep for Spring or Winter break travel plans. The staff is always nice and there is usually beds open. If not, the staff is great about cleaning them for you. I've never waited more than 5 mins and I've only waited once! The staff are also knowledgeable about how everything works in case you're new or have questions! Great price, great tan! read more

This place is so unbelievably unreliable. Their hours are always wrong online compared to their signage in front of the store. This problem has happened twice the past year. This happened with their closing hours (from 10pm to 9pm) and again now. Now the same issue is happening where it says they open at 8am online but on the front of the store it says 9am. I am tired of making the drive over and the place being closed and them constantly changing their hours. I'll be canceling my membership. read more

I come here for my monthly tanning spray tan, the girls that work here are always super welcoming and sweet, the spray tan always works out amazing & I plan to return every month! I used to get the medium tone and I'm fairly light and have blonde hair, this time I went for the dark shade and loved it! Get a bronzer or an enhancer to make it last longer! Absolute worst service you could get from a company. I signed up in June 2017 with the highest tanning bed membership you could get. I never missed a payment and went in frequently for my tans. Come November, I went in to place my account on hold for December-February (3 months is their max and all I needed) because I was leaving the country. This is a very long story but worth the read. I emailed haley@celebritytanning.com (manager) and craig@celebritytanning.com (owner) in March explaining the entire thing so I will paste it here. "Haley and Craig, I have contacted and spoken on the phone to every employee at your Tempe Celebrity Tanning location, including Madison, when she was the manager in December. I have also called corporate and left two voicemails. I have explained and repeated my situation countless times and have still not been given what is being promised after 3 months, which is a full refund. In November, I put my account on freeze for the month of December, January and February. I was out of the country most of December and saw on December 18 I was drafted for the seasonal tanning price of $33.58 and immediately called the location and spoke with Madison, who was understanding. She then told me to email her screenshots of my bank statements, which I did promptly and she would refund me the money. After 2 weeks, I had called several times trying to get in touch with Madison, as well as emailed her again and could not get in touch. I would explain my situation to the ladies working and they would just say they'll let Madison know and have her call me. Come January 19, no refund still and I was charged $5.79. Again, many calls to the front desk ladies were made, who all seemed very polite but still could not get in touch with any authoritative figure. I was informed, after the charge, of the new policy for when your account is frozen. Fine, although I have still not been refunded for December so I don't believe it is fair to be charging me yet again. Also, I was informed over the phone someone had canceled my account which I never signed to authorize. February 20, $81.05. This has now really upset me and has taken away from my bills and my own grocery and gas money. I have been extremely patient with this company and polite. I did not want it to come to this but I am extremely frustrated I have to even be typing this long email. February 19, I went into the Tempe location, spoke to Hannah and explained this all again and this time really pushed the urgency as I am leaving the country in 3 days. She for one, remembered my situation and was extremely surprised nothing had been done over this amount of time and two she said Haley was in meetings until about 11am when she would then give her a call and have Haley call me. After 48 hours, no call. February 26, I go back into the Tempe location spoke with the morning girl who I can not remember the name of and then Shaynah who was coming to take over her shift walked in half way through our conversation. After more explaining of myself, they contacted Madison at her location and Madison seemed to shrug off my situation and said only Haley could help. Again, I have been so patient with the front desk ladies but now I am done waiting for responses. Both ladies said they truly can't do anything unless getting in touch with corporate or the managers. They suggested I email, after all this time, finally a direct contact was provided. So now I am here, hoping this is the end of my frustrations. Again, my account says it is canceled which I have not signed for or asked for. All the months leading to November 2017 I had no problems with this company and was very happy with the service. I would like a full refund of all 3 drafts 33.58+5.79+81.05= 120.42 plus compensation for this atrocious service. I have been put in a financial rut because of this lackadaisical service and am saddened to not be using Celebrity Tanning ever again. If you decide to contact by phone, please leave a voicemail as I am in class and at work all day." They ignored this email and any other ways i tried to contact them. To this day I never received my money and they have lost a great customer. You can get a good tan anywhere but you can't get service like this anywhere else. I suggest going somewhere that is more than likely cheaper, and definitely more respectful to their customers. read more

Went here for my first ever spray tan because of a great groupon deal. I googled the crap out of what to expect and what to do and called the salon before I got there and got consistent information. Both girls I talked to, Chelsea and Hannah, were polite and helpful with all of my questions and concerns. This is my 2nd day with the lightest option for the versa (?) spray tan and I think it looks great and love the color! Haven't seen anything wrong as far as the tan streaking or looking weird. Only thing I noticed is my palms are a little freckled/speckly which I honestly don't mind. I don't think I put enough barrier cream on? Not stressed about it. I will be back and if I feel up for it will try the medium spray tan next! read more

I love not only Celebrity Tanning, but specifically this location. My best friend has a membership and I was a little skeptical about tanning. I ended up purchasing a package of spray tans and I absolutely love them. Not only are the staff extremely helpful and fun to be around, but they use the products themselves and have given me really helpful feedback every time I've been in. I wish the front desk girls were more consistent (I.e, less staff, more full time employees) because seeing a regular face most times I come in makes me more confident in trying new products and services. If you're on the fence about getting a spray tan, I'd recommend going to groupon and also looking at before and after photos online, it's not orange at all and it's actually a really fun process! read more

This is the only tanning salon within walking distance from ASU. I wish they had longer hours (they close at 9pm most nights) so that I could always make it there after work. I have tried all level beds here and been satisfied with them all. I was shocked at myself for paying what I did for a one time upgrade to a level 5 bed two weeks ago but I got great color that lasted. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and they proved clean towels and goggles. Look for coupons that they put in The Student Handbook that are handed out on ASU's campus every year. read more

I have been tanning for a couple years went to the celebrity tanning on Cataro and the staff and beds where amazing. I loved to go there it was my couple minutes of peace after the gym. The staff always made me feel welcome and were very nice. I moved to central Tucson and now go to the one on speedway and Kolb. The beds are still great, but the staff is so rude and uninviting I feel like a bother. It's amazing how I have loved celebrity tanning so much and due to the staff at the speedway and Kolb I will be cancelling my membership. Really need to hire a new staff. Thank you read more

Wanted to get a base tan in preparation for a trip to Cancun so started looking for a tanning location close to work so I could just pop in quick on my lunch or on my way home. Found Celebrity Tanning online and it had decent reviews and is super closer to my office so decided to give it a try. I've been 3 times and, so far, I don't have a complaint. The same young lady, Shawna, has greeted me each time I've arrived and she's been SUPER friendly and helpful. The facility has been clean and I've used the same stand up tanning bed each time. I have a fair complexion and after only 3 sessions I already have a nice base tan which is great! Quicker than some other beds at other facilities I've been to over the years. Pros: The staff is very friendly and seem knowledgeable about the mystic tan process (Or whatever its called ). I came in with a groupon and she was very accommodating. They do however tack on add-ons along with the tan , but oh well! Cons: They were out of the the darker spray tan solution. Unfortunately I am pretty pale , so I really need a darker spray tan. After waiting the full 8 hours my tan was maybe only two shades above my natural color ! That was a let down considering I used the mystic tan for a special occasion. I have been tanning since I was 14. I have been to quite a few different tanning salons however this one was by far the worst. The tanning rooms are extremely tiny, and the ceilings and walls are gross. I was in room number eight and just above me is a crack in the ceiling also looks like some water damage. I felt unsafe I'm just sad that I noticed it after I tanned. read more

I don't know the girl who is working right now but she was ridiculously rude to me for no reason. She did not differentiate between the versa and mystic bed and when she just put me in the mystic I had told her I wanted versa. Her response was that "this gets taken out of my paycheck so thanks." I thanked her multiple times and she death glared me as well. Not only was she incredibly rude but the machines were very dirty. I went in on October 4th at 6:30pm to the tempe location. read more

I don't tan well in the sun so I went in and asked a bunch of questions and the girls at the front told me that I could get a great tan in the beds regardless of how I tan outside. The first time i went in to the beds there was a sign in the room with the bed saying "if you don't tan in the sun you won't tan in our beds." I went to cancel my membership after that and got stuck paying $56 for three months after that because they don't tell you all of the charges you are automatically signed up for when you get a membership. Do yourself the favor, save yourself some money, and find somewhere else to tan. read more

Not sure why I'm seeing so many negative reviews, but this is the best tanning salon I've tried... And I've tried salons all over AZ, multiple salons all over the valley, including Chandler, Tempe, Phoenix, etc. This location off University & Rural is the best I've found, has the sweetest, most honest, helpful staff... The girls explained the different beds, options, etc to me... they're just so nice and I really appreciate them. Also- I walked in my first time w/ a $20 coupon good for any bed for 2 weeks. They explained the 3 levels of beds to me. It goes (in order from lowest to best) gold, platinum, then diamond. I started out in some gold and platinum which the girls told me help build color and then the higher beds maintain the color. The diamond bed, however, is the most amazing bed EVER. It's interactive; talks you through the settings, allows you to turn up& down the facial tanners, control facial fans, body fans, you can control the music it plays. Some even have mist, so try the diamond if you get the chance!! It's like, changed my life lol! I'm obsessed! You will love it here; the beds are always clean, they give you free eyewear and extra towels, and with a membership, you can tan at any location!! Also- when my 2 week coupon is up, which already has me very tan-- I'm going to get their highest monthly package, which includes unlimited tans in any bed, including unlimited spray (mystic tans). It's 89.95/ monthly. However, they also have monthly packages that all include unlimited tanning for as low as $40/monthly, up to $50, $60 (which is is the unlimited spray tan package, and a $70 package. I think they are very affordable options, as no matter what you choose, the girls will help you, and you will get tan in any bed, and you can stop in any location that is close to you. Make this your permanent salon!! I've never been happier or more proud of my results. When you have a package, you also get 20% off any lotions (they have a great selection). I don't review many places, as I am very picky and only satisfied with the best, but give Celebrity your business and you won't regret it!! Lastly, they are open until 10 Pm Monday-Fri and I think until 7 pm on the weekends; making it very flexible for people like me who go to school and work full time! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go to this location! I usually go to the one on frank Lloyd wright because that's right around where I work,but I live near this one so I thought I'd try it out. First off the aesthetics of this one are quite displeasing and unfriendly. The retail here is a better selection but I would buy my lotions online if I were you. I got a mystic tan for the first time and it turned out a nightmare!! It was extremely streaky and a bit orange-y. It felt as if the machine was only spraying one side of me and sure enough it looks that way too. I also had to blot dry a couple of areas because it didn't dry while in the machine. I found the same membership level at BB and OneStop for dang near half that price. I went in on a Tuesday when they were offering a free tan in any bed for new customers. So I opted to try the Diamond bed, it's suppose to be I of the strongest beds... I haven't tanned for a while, so I decided to do the full 15 minutes, thinking if it gets too hot I would get out. I ended up staying in the whole time. Towards the end I felt like the plastic underneath me was going to break, it was making all these weird cracking sounds.. Which I've never experienced before (I only weigh 130). When I got out I noticed a huge crack down the clear side of the tanning bed!!! So that's why I heard the cracking sounds... Scary!! Anyway as for the tan... I got absolutely no results!!! I was pretty disappointed, but it was free. I will not be returning here again! read more

My experience was not pleasant because I was not educated properly- AND even though I NOT told, they did not care to make any exceptions. Been a Celebrity Tanning member going on 2 years and this location is probably their worst! They open pretty late (9-10am depending on time of year) so don't try to tan before work or school. If you pay for a Platinum membership their bed selection is not great either. Out of the three, the Excellence was their best and has been broken for over three months now. I've been driving accross town to other locations but getting old, plenty of other options in South Scottsdale/Temp area so may be time to cancel @ Celebrity. read more

Went here because I had a groupon. Every time I walked in no one was at the front desk. I had to say, "Hello?" for an employee to come out from the back room, walk to the front desk and check me in almost every time I went to tan. While tanning in the beds, I heard cracking sounds from the plastic of the bed (I'm not at all overweight.) If you need to use their restroom, you have to go to a gross one downstairs. They had a sale where their tanning lotions were 30% off. After the discount, they were $70. I was suckered into buying one. Then I checked amazon and they were $24.50. Ugh these guys are a rip off. read more
