This is my go to place for a spray tan or to get ready for vaca via tanning bed. It's in a great location with plenty of parking and is always super clean. The sales pitches can be extremely aggressive, and the staff that knows me well knows not to push it, but the newer staff is very... excited about product. I prefer the mystic tanning booth over versa, but both are great. Overall great staff with upbeat energy, and I do notice them doing their best to keep the wait down. This place is SO lucky their beds rock. I have had so many issues with this company it's not even funny. Ex. I tried to cancel my membership and it was put on freeze instead without my knowledge (still charging me ~$8/mo), I have also went in asking to change my payment method bc I am working on changing banks/closing one debit card to another. They still charge my old card and overdraft my account., closing 30 min earlier than their stated close time. So not only is it super annoying that every month you want to cancel or "freeze" your membership, that you have to go in in person, but I am appalled at the treatment I've received from their "customer service". I've literally paid for 9 months worth at full price for nothing because I haven't had time to go in for tanning much less stop in during hours to sign docs. So I finally go in to cancel, and Tan Pro was in the process of being bought by Palm Beach tan and I was told to come back the next day because the systems weren't working. I go in the next day, they still aren't working and have to take my name down to cancel. Low and behold I get charged the following month again. I call someone, don't get a call back. I go in again , computer is working I sign docs, frozen and good to go right?...Wrong! Because I cancelled on the 28th and not the 25th I got charged a full month AGAIN which no one told me you had to cancel before the 25th. So I call again, get this super rude girl who very snottily tells me they can freeze my account but it won't take effect until November now. After expressing my frustrations at the many hoops I've had to jump through and asking to be refunded for only the most recent month ( considering I've just handed them money for 9 months for 0 services rendered), she belittles me and threatens to disconnect the call- then tells me she is confused because I said "cancel" and "freeze" so "what do you want". Ya know what... CANCEL! So she says that I will again need to have a written request for that which obviously frustrates me more. Before rudly disconnecting the call, she tells me she has cancelled and I am no longer "welcome" at any of their facilities. Good lord, no thank you. Went in for their advertised $10 spray tan Monday, ended up spending more than double that. Was told "there is no $10 spray tan, you can't just do the basic spray otherwise you'll look like an oompa loompa". Completely false advertising. The girls at the front desk were pushy to the point of rude, very loud and talked very fast, wouldn't let me get one word in. The whole transaction was confusing and shady. The mist sprayer was janky- it left large dark concentrated spots all over my face and body, I've never had a worse experience at a spray tan. And then the dryer didn't dry me completely, my tan was coming off on my clothes, phone, etc for hours afterward. I left feeling hustled, lied to, and cheated; not a good experience. CLOSED when they say they are open. Supposedly open at 8am...I got there at 9:05. No one around, no note on the door, no update to google hours, no update on facebook. It's snowy but the roads aren't that bad. I managed to get everywhere I was going no problem AND i also own a business that had no problems opening by 9am despite some snow. Wow! I have been to two different Palm Beach Tans in the last week. I decided to buy the 5 for $10 package deal before my wedding to get rid of tan lines. I thought the chick Savannah was bad at the Graceland place, I then go to Olentangy and holy smokes! The first word that comes to mind to describe these chicks are Tan Mongering Nazis. Sorry, but that is really what I think of when I get bombarded with ditzy, completely one track minded robots trying to sell me this membership, or this lotion, or, am I sure i don't want to upgrade to level 4 or 5 ?? It is like fighting off a swarm of mosquitos just to get in the tanning bed and have your minutes. The one girl at Olentangy shoved a lotion in my face and asked if I wanted to learn about it and I said "no, not interested" and then she comes back with "Well, can I tell you about it anyway cause it's really awesome?" I said, "No, not interested." Another thing that is so ridiculous is the fingerprint sign in. The explanation was so that way no one else can come in and take tans from my account. Really? That is the last thing I am worried about is someone coming into steal my tans! HA! I refused to use the finger print thing. I can only say that the foundation of this company must have some pretty backwards values, and that the employees are completely desperate to get sales. I recently started a membership with Palm Beach Tan because it is on my route home from work, and I was unhappy with my experience at Tan Pro just down the street on Olentangy...... The facility itself is just awesome - it's new, just opened a few months ago I believe, so everything is nice and clean and well, new :) It's like getting into a brand new car - it just feels good being inside of it! The beds themselves are brand new and really superior quality. I'm no expert on tanning bed technology, but they are completely unlike the crappy decade-old tanning beds that I've seen at every other tanning establishment I have patronized. This makes a huge difference in how quickly you tan - the amount I've darkened in the last two weeks would have probably taken over a month of daily tanning at the other companies I have used before. So, this place is worth checking out simply for the superior equipment alone if nothing else. It's like space-age technology - or maybe I am just too easily impressed haha! The staff also is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have not had a single encounter with anyone that I would classify as less than ideal - everyone is really nice and as someone wrote above, has fantastic energy - they, in turn, make me more excited about doing the whole tanning thing and they make it fun! Such good attitudes from everyone; I was really impressed by that - the girls are all just stellar. Here are the only reasons I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars: -Depending on the time of day or night I go, the parking lot can be absolutely full (which is not their fault in any way, but a couple times I had a hard time getting parked). -The lotions are so expensive! I know this is where a tanning salon really makes most of their profit, as they really don't make that much from the beds themselves, but even with a discount I ended up paying over $60 for a tube of lotion. -Sometimes it gets busy and there is a wait, especially if there is only one girl working at the time. I ended up having to leave the first time I tried to go there to sign up for membership because it had been over a half hour of waiting, and then when I came back the second time I still ended up waiting about an entire hour, but I was not giving up on that day lol. However, don't let me mentioning that stop you from coming to tan here (it is really a superior experience) just know that sometimes you may end up waiting a bit if they get backed up with people. I'm not sure where all the negative complaints are coming from - relax, it's a tanning salon. I just relocated to Columbus from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and had a great experience at Palm Beach. I need constant color now that I'm not in the sun daily. I agree, the "sales" aspect was a bit aggressive, but I just told her no and selected the package I felt comfortable with. The salon is new, upgraded and the beds are CLEAN! A clean facility is important to me, the sales team was the least of my concerns! Super clean salon, the cleanest I've ever been in and I've tanned at all of their competitors locations. the check in girls are really nice and really know their stuff when it comes to lotions, i feel like I spend $100 every time I'm there but everything always does what they say it will and I'm always happy to listen to what their new products do!! Plans range from around $30-$100 plus start up fee. it looked like a god chunk of their lotions are the Ausie Gold brand and the staff is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to them. This is truely the best tanning experience in Columbus. As an experienced "tanner" I have had many memberships at many salons. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgable in their products and services. Although the sales can sometimes come off pushy, the team genuinely wants you to have the best results by using the best skin care. And they are right! The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is the wait time in the evenings. They never seem to have enough staff during busier times. Many times there is only one person working trying to check guests in, cleaning beds, while giving full presentations for new clients. You can read the stress on their face and makes for an awkward experience for a full lobby of customers. Recommendation: have appointment slots available through a palm beach app! ;) Other than that, the girls and the beds are amazing! I literally feel like im lying on the beach. The employees at this location are the worst I have ever had to deal with. They are not friendly, always seem to be bothered or uninterested in the customers and they lack any sense of customer service. They also don't seem to be aware on how to do many things their jobs entail and sometimes it can take 10 minutes for them to figure out a simple task when it should take a minute or two. I would highly recommend going to a different tanning salon all together or going to a different Palm Beach as this location is not ideal. Aside from the employees this location is very busy and I almost always have to wait in a line to tan which can be annoying at times when I am in a hurry. It's unfortunate that they don't give you an option to give them zero stars. I haven't had my package for very long, yet every time I come into the salon they ask me if I need new lotion and are shoving different kinds of lotions up my nose to see if they smell good. I've never come in without not having to wait for a bed to open up. The most annoying part is, is that when you are waiting in line they are giving people 20 minute sales pitches while the line is out the door. I bought 2 spray tans and got one free the other month from Skye, who is the manager, whom informed me that the spray tans did not expire. I get in the other day and try to use my spray tans and she told me that I needed to use my sprays before the end of the month or else I would lose them. Why in the hell would I get two spray tans when there are only 5 days left in the month and when the manager of the store told me they didn't expire. The place is a rip off filled with girls who will probably work there for the rest of their lives because they have been brainwashed by the manager with their robotic sales pitches. Please please please just stop with the sales pitches already. I come here frequently because I think they have better beds than Tan Pro and it's close to where I live and every single time they try to sell me a product. If this weren't the only Palm Beach Tan in the area, I would NEVER go here. They don't just ask once and stop. They push you and make you feel uncomfortable. They have literally tried to sell me the same face lotion at least 10 times (not exaggerating here) and every single time I say no, and show them the one I already have in my bag. You would think that will all these reviews on Yelp saying the same thing that someone higher up (like the lady commenting on all of these posts from Palm Beach tan!) would finally say something to the management about it...but this has yet to have happened. I brought a friend in with me one day who was not looking to spend a great deal of money on a tanning membership and she made that clear but for whatever reason the sales person she was speaking with did not want to show her any lower beds. They pretty much showed her only the most expensive and the second most expensive, and basically told her that was it. She cancelled her membership after one month. Not surprised. Also, the sales pitching, etc makes the tanning process take MUCH longer than it should. I simply want to tan and get out as fast as possible. After reading some of the other reviews I have to say I am astonished at all the negativity. I have been tanning with PBT for 6 years (Steltzer Rd location) and I LOVE IT. The facility is always clean and the staff is great!!! Its always refreshing to be welcomed with a smile and not have to wait for a bed to be cleaned. I will say the sales pitches can be bothersome at times. This is ONLY because being an avid tanner, I frequent the salon daily or every other day. I decided to try this tanning salon out because A) it's brand spanning new and B) It's across the street from work. The sign up process was long but the lady who was helping me was super informative and knowledgable. Her energy was amazing, she seemed genuinely excited to be working there. I ended up going with one of the higher packages which I probably don't need but she was an awesome sales person, I don't mind, I can appreciate good sales tactics. Also the fact the bed lights up and looked like a space pod got me. What can I say I'm a sucker for design. Very informative on the products, I only bought a face lotion as I already had others but they seemed expensive even with the discount offered. The bed was super clean and very comfortable. The whole place was very clean and new. The price was higher than other tanning salons in the area but the beds are all brand new so it's worth it for quality, I think at least. read more

Been tanning for a month and have NOTHING to show for it. Have asked the employees whats going on with the beds and they have stated that the bulbs need changed on several beds. First off pay attention when you go in, this place is just looking to suck every penny from you no matter what. I started coming here after moving to columbus looking for a couple single sessions, they do not sell them as they told me they are not a "contract " company. Well , anywhere I make an agreement and pay then sign my signature IS A CONTRACT. This company is totally twisted . I thought, " hey it's close to home and clean why not give it a go ".First they charge you an enrollment fee (which you can get "waved") then I was talked into upgrading for only 10$ extra to get a quicker bed. I'm super aware of people taking my money and I even slipped on this. This little girl could have sold me dog shit on earrings and I would have boughten them. ( their sales girls are ver very very good at what they do). Anywho I signed up for one month, after thinking about how much money they conned me into I decided to cancel as soon as I could. This is not an easy task, they literally would have told me anything to stay with them , they will tell you that you can freeze your account , so when you sign up again you won't get the enrollment fee, mmm "okay sounds good"I said and "so I won't get charged for not being here correct? " Nope.. First they avoided the question saying "you would get credited when You resigned for a new month, so it would be free! " I asked "credited from what? If my account is frozen there should Be no money coming out" after asking more questions I found out they still charge you 7.00 a month ... WTF why would I pay if I am Not using your services. I tried to explain this to the sales girls, I felt like I was talking to a wall, they kept telling me it was a better deal... I thought I was turning into a crazy person! Okay I cancelled , but still had a month of tanning , Every single time I went back in after... EVERY SINGLE time they asked awe why did you cancel? Bc your company is a crock of s*/^\ that will take your money at any cost. Even up to my last day the girl tried to sell me lotion that will make my last tan stay longer.... I come here all the time because I love their tanning beds and the Mystic. Therefore, I wanted my best friend, who has never gotten a spray tan before, to enjoy the experience with me. However, we were less than thrilled when we got there at 9:22pm (when they close at 11pm) and were basically made to feel uncomfortable. The girl behind the counter, who's nametag said Scarlett, was so hostile towards us my friend almost didn't get her spray tan. The first thing she said when my friend wanted to get the Versa was "well, if it turns you orange it's not our fault" with the most rudest tone of voice. So then when we both got the mystic, she was like "well it's gozing to be an hour wait". Wrong. We were both done in less than 30minutes. BOTH. I have never felt more disrespected in my entire life. I get it. It's late on a Monday night and she probably wanted to go home, but the way she treated us was just ridiculous. Like girl if you don't like your job or want to work on a Monday night, get a new job?? Someone needs to teach this girl some serious customer service skills. I will NEVER be back to this location again as it was the most ridiculous encounter I have ever had at a tanning salon, almost like they didn't want you to be there. No it was like that. She didn't want us there. Ladies, do yourself a favor and drive a little further to the one on Bethel or at Graceland, especially if it's your first time! I'm a college student and had a coupon pulled up on my phone for a $20 gift card from an app called "Pocket Points." Anyways, I ask her for the gift card and tells me that it's only good for $20 off a bottle of lotion or $20 off of an enrollment fee. So I ask, "So it isn't actually a gift card?" She says something along the lines of "well kind of." On top of the "kind of a gift card" she informed me that if I wanted to use it it had to be right then and there. When I explain to her that what she's offering me isn't s gift card and that it's false advertising, the girl looks at me like I'm crazy or something like "what am I supposed to do about it," snickers and says "ok?" Like it's a question or something. she offers absolutely nothing in return for the false advertisement, inconvenience and poor customer service. Not to mention the points I used to get my gift card are impossible to get back. Horrible customer service, rude, ditsy and careless employees. If you have a coupon I wouldn't get your hopes up, the chances of them honoring it are slim. read more

The first time I went to Palm Beach the employees were very rude but I decided to look past it because I loved the spray tan that I received. Eventually I bought a package and started going every week for spray tans. They were consistently good until about a week ago. My friend went a day before me go get a spray tan and they told her that the machine was not emptying out the entire cartridge and to come back tomorrow. Well I went the next day with her and my spray tan was noticeably not as dark and somewhat patchy compared to my previous ones. I went again today and the same thing happened. I'm pretty sure they never actually fixed the machine. On top of all of that, I really think they rip off their customers with all their different, confusing tanning packages. I pay $50 a month but I still end up paying $5 every time I go there for add ons. Doesn't make sense. They need to learn how to properly run a business. read more
