AWFUL!!!! GOD AWFUL!! They lie about what you pay for ALL THE TIME. Paid $100 for "3 sprays in 3 months"- show up and she told me "your package expired 30 days ago, I said no! Here's my receipt" Well that girl no longer works here for that reason, she didn't correctly tell you about your package- it expired 30 days ago- but you can pay $42 for a one time spray.. LADY??? I already paid??? And your staff not being trained is MY FAULT??? She was SO RUDE- ended the conversation with me by saying "have a great day" read more

The associates are paid to upsell you. The general manager told me so. Prices are high. Beds range from old to new and nice but the staff is stuck up. They expect you are a total expert in tanning. I'd been coming here for over a decade. Managers and staff seldom last long here. At one time, at least the corporate customer service seemed to want your business. Now, no. I guess I'm looking for new options. New customers, beware. They relocated to a nearby location and I find out that my old level is technically a lower level after being told that once they move, there would be newer options at my level. Somewhere between a very respected store manager (the longest tenured during my decade plus) and the district manager is some really bad information. The former store manager is gone. The district manager gave me the option of paying more, accepting lessor service or driving to another store where my membership level would be the same. That store is 1 hour and 20 minutes away! Seriously??? Drive for 2 hours and 40 minutes for 11 minutes of service??? I learned there are beds that my level would allow. Funny, he didn't mention those. Over the years, I had increased my membership level to the top level. Now they have created yet a newer top level for nearly 50% more to get basically the same level access. A ploy to get a long time customer to shell out 50% more. Some of the issues they've had - beds not being maintained, audio not working, sales staff telling you the bed was ready but not (thus having to go back to the counter to have them reset) and having to listen to justifiably upset customers complain about their poor customer service situations. Additionally the parking at the newer location is very narrow spaces in front and you are competing with other business. There is some more parking to the North side. I tan periodically to keep from getting bad burns. 2-4 times a month. Since I started doing that in 1989, I've had minimal sunburns. My dermatologist used to be a member at this location. He left years ago due to poor customer service issues with a manager and his staff. It looks like I am leaving as the upper echelon doesn't want my business as well. read more

Worst experience ever and I won't be returning. I just moved down the road and I've been a happy, longtime customer @ Lux Tanning on Lemmon Avenue. I just walked into Palm Beach since I saw they have Versa Spa and that's what I'm used to, and figured why not give this place a shot? I was greeted by a snarky, rude employee named Chad who proceeded to not smile, and greet me with no hello just "what's the phone number". I was smiling and said to him I just moved to this area and haven't been in before, but wanted to spray tan. I mentioned that I thought there might be a special I saw for first time tans online, and he was immediately rude to me telling me "it's $40". When I mentioned how I was used to the Versa machines at Lux and that their pricing was a little different, he was extremely snarky back to me. I kept trying to power through and keep things light and told him I'll need some help with the color recommendation since Lux uses a "1, 2, 3, 4" scale of color and Palm Beach uses Light, Med. And Dark. He replied by saying "well I've never worked at Lux so I don't know what 1234 means" and got very annoyed with me for wanting help with color recommendation. He proceeded to point me in the direction of the room- didn't ask me if I had exfoliated, or let me know that everything I needed would be in the room. I also didn't know the positions to stand in and he got extremely frustrated when I asked him for a hair net and for the positions. "They're on the wall" was his reply. I've never had such a crazy, rude experience at a tanning salon! I won't be returning and also telling my girl friends to stick to Lux. read more

Helpful staff, the spray tan worked great and they explained everything. They really want you to buy all those lotions and potions, but that's probably a corporate directive - or maybe they're on commission. No big deal, they weren't pushy. read more

Don't sign up here! They do not stand by their offers and the staff tells you something different each time you go in. Signed up three months ago for sunless membership which is $14.95 a month and only includes one tan a month. I was told I only had to pay $7 for each additional tan and did so at least 3 times. Last month I was told it it would be $37 for each additional tan. So I cancelled but was told I missed the cut off to stop the May draft. So I would draft in May and would have one tan left. Today I went in and was told that I used my May tan on 4/25 when I paid for an additional tan that day and put in my cancellation. I told the girl at the front desk that they tell me something different each time I go in and left. (This happens to be the same one who told me last month I would draft in May and have one tan left to use in May.) I will also say they are big on pushing product each and every time you go in. They tried to sell me on a lotion today that is used whenever you spray tan even though they knew I had already put in a cancellation last month. Makes no sense! Horrible and dishonest! read more

$70 for a spray tan is absolutely absurd. Especially when the booth that is supposed to "scan your height and weight," completely misses your top half. I was optimistic leaving as I figured I would trust the process.. Should've gone with what I usually use (VersaPro) but figured I would give the booth the consultant recommended a try. read more

I started to come here when I first moved to Dallas in 2015. The people that worked here at the time eventually became some good friends. They don't work here anymore but I still love this location and it is my favorite location in the area. There was another Palm Beach close but I will always come to this location. I never have any issues or have to wait long for a tanning bed. Palm Beach always has good deals going on and they got me addicted to spray tans. Very disappointed with my visit last night at this location... I went in on Monday to get my first spray tan ever to treat myself after a 14 hour long work day. Angelo was very informative and showed me step by step how the machine works and let me try the CC body primer they have for sale. Its a good "try before you buy" technique which I think is awesome! I got in and of course found a way to mix up the instructions and I only got my front side done thinking there was more steps and time involved...there weren't. Whoops! I told the staff that I accidentally messed up and if I could come back the next day to re-do it since it was almost closing time. Angelo said he'd put it on my account and I'd be set for the next day, awesome!! The next day, Tuesday I walk in and I see a few new people and no Angelo. I told the new staff what had happened and asked if I could go ahead and do the same procedure as the night before. Sure! they said, "That'll be $7.86" I was confused as I had already paid $50 the night before AND it was on my account. They said "Oh, no, you just paid for the spray tan package." So now I have to come in and pay MORE for my MISTAKE!? And why was I not made aware that I would have a hidden fee thrown at me??? I said oh well and paid, then asked about the CC body cream to try and they said, "Oh, you need to buy it." ....But I thought it came complimentary with the spray tan for my first time? I asked why they weren't accommodating me like Angelo did and they flatly said, "He was probably just being nice." Wow. I asked for a manager and some guy standing behind the counter replies "What's up??" I simply asked when Angelo usually works as he is super nice and knowledgeable and got a flat reply of "At night..." This is enough for me to take my business elsewhere where it is deserved. Logan is beyond awful. He is a RUDE jerk and shouldn't be in a customer facing position. Seriously, corporate needs to take note of who their managers are after multiple bad reviews on a single individual. I've been a monthly member for 7 years and his attitude makes me want to quit and go somewhere else. His eye rolls aren't "cute" and his arrogant personality is beyond awful. Logan Praisley, store manager of palm beach tan located on Greenville ave in Dallas TX has always given me the best customer service; he has the most personable, outgoing, and friendly attitude to each and ever customer that walks through the door! No idea why this place has bad reviews! I have had great experiences every time I have gone. In fact I think this location and staff is much better then other locations. They are one of two locations that has my favorite bed ever, the Sun Angel. It literally assesses your skin and the bed gives you a custom tan. 10 minutes of base tan and 10 minutes of golden tan. I have interacted with several of the staff and they are all super sweet. One time I forgot my lotion and rather then making me buy a sample they let me use a tester bottle. I really appreciate that and never had another location offer that. Last time I went in I tanned and then spray tanned. They were out of my spray tan color so they mixed me one up with different "extras" and didn't charge me for it. This location is always clean and there is plenty of places to sit if you need to wait for a bed. read more

First of all, let me say, that I do not condone tanning. I'm the first one to give my friends a hard time for this terrible habit. However, my cousin signed me up for some free tanning and well...she can talk a blind man into a buying a car. So, needless to say, I went and tanned. This location is amazing! Everything was super clean and they even gave me some free lotion to use since it was my first time there. They have one bed that you customizes to you skin pigmentation. Don't ask me how, but I was in the bed for 20 minutes with my fair skin and did not burn. You press this thingie to your forehead and your inner arm and it adjust to you pigmentation. It even sprays aromatherapy at you while tan...I AM NOT KIDDING! So, if you're not afraid of a few cancerous UV rays, give palm beach a try. read more

I love that this location has the Versa Pro. I also love all of the coupons and rewards we get monthly with the membership at Palm beach. The Catalina gives a nice color as well as the clear dark solution in the Versa. read more

All in all, I liked this location for the many options to tan. I can get a versa pro and a sun angel session whereas a lot of locations don't offer that. It's clean. Location convenient to my apartment. But like many other locations, the associates can be pushy. Unfortunately, my worst experience with an associate actually happened to be here. I got the most high-end contract they had to offer. This is exactly what happened. Associate T: "We have these two really good lotions, this one with X formula and this one with Y formula. Would you like this one?" Me: No Associate T: "okay so you want the other one?" Me: no. Associate T: "can I ask why not?" Me: can I just tan? Associate T: "what if I gave them to you for free would you take it?" Me: I guess. This is an example of my philosophy "if I know you want my money, we obviously don't have the same incentives". They're really quite shameless when it comes to their sales and having to make commission. Advice to management: encourage your employees to care about their customers. Some employees are friendly, others are horrible. Guy talked me into freezing my account instead of canceling because I couldn't come for 3 months stating I would be charged a one time fee of 7.50. My credit card changed in the meantime. When I went in to unfreeze the told me I owed 39 dollars because my card was suppose to be charged 7.50 a month then I got charged fees for the two months my card wasn't able to be charged. Why would I agree to that when cancelling would have been cheaper. Paid and stayed for a month. Beware of what the tell you and get proof! read more

When I first moved to Dallas 4 years ago I found Palm Beach Tan because they are located all over the city. I did like that the store I primarily used was located right next to my Gym. But, it's a pretty consistent poor experience at all locations and I used several when patronizing this business. From associates that are crazy pushy to distasteful upcharge/add-on pricing strategies you will feel as though you're buying a used car. For the right customer experience I will pay just about any price for something but it feels sleazy here. In the grand scheme of things you don't have to mortgage your house to acquire their stuff it's just their demeanor, sales strategy, and business model that is irritating from jump. As such, I will not use this business again and they have a location right next to my Gym. I freely choose to drive 20 minutes one way to another tanning business where I feel served and not nickeled & dimed. I will never return as a customer and I don't care how conveniently they are located. read more

Emily immediately credited me for free tanning until the situation was resolved. Justin reinstated my account without even speaking directly to him. Everybody is so knowledgeable and welcoming. Not only do they have amazing equipment when it comes to tanning beds, but they are always super clean. They provide you with hair ties, makeup wipes, the whole nine yards( I honestly was shocked!). As far as products go they carry top of the line brands and they range in price so you don't feel intimidated when purchasing a new lotion. Any questions I have, they always have an answer. I love this place and love my tan! I would highly recommend this as the best tanning salon in Dallas. read more

Very friendly staff, always able to answer any questions I might have. Very clean both in waiting area and the rooms/tanning beds. Prompt service, hardly ever a wait, if there is a wait it's not long at all. In fact, I recently upgraded to Gold after I had questions about wanting my color to darken. Beautiful new space, feels very small when you walk in. I liked the new styling concepts like the rolling doors and upgraded lighting. With that said there are still issues with the little details some of which have been a problem for years. The radios or audio in the rooms never really worked in the old place and now the beds have built in radios but they DON'T WORK. The stand up in room 11 should have thrown in the dumpster when you moved to new location. It is noisy, door doesn't shut properly, and grab bars are ineffective. It's the little details that makes our experiences pleasurable and I feel you have fallen short or carried the same old problems from the old place to the new place. People will only take this for so long before they go searching for a better more pleasing experience. I love the new space but am disappointed that it's not 100% and now that it's open may never be what it could be. read more

It is clear from the other reviews on Yelp- it is 100% the manager's fault there are SO many disappointed customers at this location! I live close by- but after my last experience I will never be visiting this location again. I will go back to going to the 2 Uptown or Lovers/ Inwood or Mockingbird locations. The manager Logan was so unprofessional, rude, condescending and unhelpful. I have never experienced such poor regard and complete disrespect in a store before. Not only was he horrible to me- I had to sit and take his rudeness to me while he had a mouthful of In and Out burger he was eating. It was gross. Managers are supposed to LEAD by example. All problems root from the manager first and then trickle down. Corporate needs to take a hard look at whom is managing their stores and employees and how they are treating their customers. I tanned 3 times for a vacation in April 2018. A year later I am still being charged $8.25 regardless of being told my account was cancelled. I have called customer service many times and have not received a call back. I have visited the salon and they have directed me to the customer service number (the same number that does not return calls.) I've contacted them online and 5 days later received an email stating I only froze my account and that I had to visit a salon to take care of this which is not the case and was offered no help beyond that. After reading reviews multiple places, I see this is a common problem with this company and am extremely upset I can't reach anyone for this to be taken care of. I hope nobody else gets trapped into this. read more

At PBT, they oversell their lotions, but it's clean and convenient. A tip: I've been tanning at PBT since 1996. When a kid that was not even BORN in 1996 tells me that I need to buy a packet of lotion for a 10-minute session (because I left my lotion at home), that's just straight up annoying. But they have mirrors in the rooms, which is a big deal! They also tried to sell me 3 mystic tans for $120, which was positioned as "a really great deal." In the last 6 months I have purchased 3 mystics for 60 (or 4 for 60), so I'm not sure how this is a "good deal." Frustrating :( read more

I am so glad I went online to read reviews on this location. What happened to me yesterday is clearly not an isolated incident and Logan seems to be a recurring problem for dissatisfied customers. I went in yesterday to try and buy a few sessions before my wedding and left without buying anything because I was so upset by the way I was treated by Logan. He seemed nice at first walking me around to the different beds and showing me what they have to offer. But when it came to trying to sell me lotion, he became very pushy. He recommended products that would have cost me $445 total and would say "is that something your comfortable with?" Which I'm obviously not and so he kept bringing it down in smaller increments, but still making insanely unrealistic recommendations. The worst part is that he was SO rude and condescending about it. I could not believe it. Basically I left feeling like I was too poor to tan at Palm Beach. He finally offered me a lotion, "after applying as many discounts as he can" that was $45, but I was so upset by his hostile attempts to sell me lotion that I walked out without buying anything. To the PBT customer service people that are going to read this and pretend to care about my experience- I understand your employees make a commission off selling products. His pitch was probably part of a push from corporate to sell more. However, when I tell your employee, Logan, that I am uncomfortable with the prices he's pushing on me and tell him I'm going to look at other tanning options, he should be more sympathetic and understanding to what the customer needs and wants. I think he thinks he was doing that, but in reality he was so rude and condescending and made me feel horrible about myself for not wanting to spend $500. Because of what happened not only will I never go to that location, but never go back to PBT ever again. Also, just a suggestion, carry lotions that your customers will be willing to buy and are more reasonably priced. read more
