I needed a few UV tanning sessions before a winter beach trip and I called a few places around the downtown area, this salon was so easy to work with and has great specials. The women at the front desk are really knowledgeable and helpful. I didn't feel like I was being up sold like I did at some other places. If you need a solid tanning salon for a fair price I highly recommend. I did not get a spray tan so this is just regarding the UV beds and prices. read more

These beds are beyond old and they don't even change the bulbs at least. I'm use to getting a good deep brown tan....not here. It's EXTREMELY dirty dust Dirt and only God knows what. It's fine if you don't want to be fancy with the latest decor but it cost absolutely nothing to wipe down the area and clean . I got this membership without walking thru which is my fault . I'd suggest look elsewhere it's not worth it spend a little more and go else where . I honestly would be embarrassed if I were the owner. I had an account here for several years because of the price, but I rarely came in because of the service and uncleanliness. Even since the management has changed, it's still dirty. They slapped up some paint but go in and look at the walls and ceilings. Also, the spray tan machines and meds have visible built up grime that resembles mold. After canceling my account after moving, I was still charged the yearly renewal fee. It took several days to get a response, and then it was a short and rude response about it being too late. I can't fathom paying for a renewal fee for a service I literally just canceled. Very unprofessional, but it didn't shock me because the girls at the desk barely look up from their phones to check you in or speak to you. read more

I've been coming to Tan Dallas for a few years now. It is not the cleanest or most sanitary facility. But you get what you pay for. It is by far the most inexpensive and convenient salons in Dallas. I do wish the staff took their job more seriously and cleaned a bit more efficiently than they do now. I can guarantee each time I tan the beds have greasy handprints on the glass/bed frame. The bathroom is repulsing. Most of the time there is no hand towels or toilet paper. The trash can in the rest room never has a bag in it. But that doesn't stop be from coming although I wish it would. I just don't feel like paying extra to get a tan. FYI they canceled your membership if they don't like your Yelp review. Found that out the hard way . So if you don't want to keep it real and be honest might as well keep your thoughts to yourself. read more

I had previously bought a Groupon for Tan Dallas which included 2 spray tans using their VersaPro machine. The first time I went and, I was explained on how to use the machine. I felt like my first experience went very well. I did specifically ask about the second tan and when I was able to use that. I let the employee at the front desk know that I would likely not be able to use it in time before it's expired according to the Groupon. He assured me that I should not worry, and that as long as I activated my account, which I did do that day, that I would be fine to use the 2nd one whenever I wanted. He explained to me that it would not expire since I activated my account there and use my first group on prior to the expiration date. Fast-forward to me using my 2nd tan. The general manager was working the front desk and I told him I wanted to use my 2nd tan. He said that the Groupon expired and that I would not be able to use the second half of the deal. Since this was a direct conflict of what I was told before, I felt very slighted and taken advantage of. I think my biggest frustration with that conversation, other than being told incorrect information to begin with, was the fact that the GM clearly was more concerned about being right than about good customer service and trying to understand where I was coming from. His approach in my opinion was not the best business tactic, and because of that alone, I will not be giving them my business any longer. Overall, while the products generally work, the customer service is without integrity. Therefore, I would not recommend this as your tanning spot. read more

I've used many of the versa spa spray tan booths before. All of them have a constant mist of product during application and leave a streak free tan. I went into booth #18 and it was not a mist of product but rather a jet of product that came out and I could tell it was not going to be an even coat. I asked if this was normal afterward and was instructed that it was. 12 hours later and I now have the WORST spray tan of my entire life. It's splotchy, streaky and uneven. You can definitely tell this was not an even application of product. I'm not sure if the machine is broken or what but now I'm stuck with an embarrassing spray tan. read more

This was my first time and last time here. I went here because of how cheap it was and I needed a last minute spray tan. I chose the versa pro medium shade. I went in the booth and the spray wasn't all that even. It didn't even spray my back so I had to get the front desk girl to airbrush me after to get the parts that didn't originally get sprayed. The floors were disgusting as the spray tan is on the floor from the spray booths so I have tanner on the bottom of my feet. I can tell they don't keep this place very clean. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have been a customer here for over three years for their Versa spray tans. Today I tried the airbrush tan. The girl was so unhelpful when I was asking what color she tho is would best fit my skin tone. I then walked into the room and the whole floor was brown and dirty and sticky. She said she would get me a towel and comes back with a tiny towel that looked like someone had changed their car oil with it for me to stand on. She then sprayed me for maybe 30 seconds, handed me the hose and said "here dry yourself" and walked out of the door. The manager mentioned he's willing to give people a chance but in this case it was just too much. Well done! I noticed he was training a new girl while I was checking in. She was just the sweetest thing ever. A complete 180 from the last girl working the front. This girl had a girl next door look and a personality to go with it. Definitely someone you want present to customers when they walk up. They recently got new versa sprayers! The old ones weren't bad but these are definitely a major step up! The tan comes out much more even and there's more drying cycles! It also seems like there's more time in between each spray so I don't feel like I'm having to jump from pose to pose before getting shot at. Very disappointed in Ford the owner, and the new manager. I spoke with Rachel the Manager in October and froze my account, followed up with email November 4th, and they still took the money out of my account. Their short sadness will cost them business. I froze my account due to my health and their shotty approach to business will now cause me to cancel my account. The new manager is lacking in ability to make a decision I I can only assume their poor business makes Ford want to keep your money more then to do the right thing. I went in to redeem a Groupon I purchased for 2 spray tans for $26. My fault that I did not see all of the fine print because it was for new customers only. They charged me $39 for one. I did not have a choice at that point because I already purchased the Groupon. However, for that price, I could have gone somewhere cleaner and closer to home. The girl had trouble setting my booth so I had to undress/redress and come out a few times to tell her it wasn't on which probably isn't her fault, but I already felt shafted by the price. The salon was absolutely disgusting and so dirty. Bandaids on the floor, overflowing trash cans, spray tan mist on all of the walls... just not worth a $39 spray tan. The staff here are young people who really enjoy their jobs. They are really informative when asked questions, which is exactly what I'm looking for when I'm building my tan. I read the reviews on here when I began my official search to become a member of a tanning salon. Being skeptical at first, I decided to talk to them about a monthly membership. Please, if you do one thing after reading this review I ask that you GO TRY TAN DALLAS out for yourself!! The two bad reviews are from a disgruntled boyfriend and girlfriend which should have only counted for one review, and not that you really care about my opinion, but I really don't like dealing with lazy people who don't read stipulations of coupons! If you've ever worked in retail you understand this more than anyone. The note from the owner also made my eyebrows go up a little, but I understand the entrepreneur spirit who wants people to say good things about your salon. That little rant aside, Tan Dallas has amazing prices! Compared to the other tanning salons out there I saved as much as $40 a month for access to all beds in the place! Tan dallas has been an amazing experience and I've been tanning here for 3 months! I do see how people can say it's "not clean" cause of the over spray from the versa pep all the way up on the top of the wall by the ceiling. But when I tanned at palm beach the same overspray was there and I paid way more money to sit and wait 20 minutes to tan. And if you wanna know rude then meet those people. They will sell you a basic lotion for 75 bucks just to make 7-15 dollars in commission. Tan dallas is respectful of your money and so so honest. "Yay I'm a fan" just about sums it up! Got a fantastic deal on groupon - two sprays for $18. I've only ever received airbrush tans, done by the hand of a professional. When I called to ask about the details, they clarified that the spray tay was to be performed in their VersaSpa tan MACHINE. So I'm a little skeptical, but I've seen good results from a machine. This place has a walk-in appointment policy, which seems sketchy, but it's not! Now that I know about this place, it's totally convenient (fore planning isn't really my thing). Not to mention, they stayed open late for me! Anyway the tan looks just as good as any airbrush I've received. Better than some of them, actually! It's clean, the folks that work there are friendly, and they don't try to sell you a bunch of crap you don't need. That's one of the most annoying things about tanning salons--the constant up charging and trinkets they peddle. He said I have to show proof of when I canceled my membership in order to receive my refund. However, how does this establishment not have any record of this? Anyways I still have not been reimburse. This place is in a great location! Right next to my house and the have awesome deals on Groupon. I was greeted when I walked in the door, staff was nice and willing to show you what to do if it's your first time there. They also have great business hours and the place is pretty clean. They run out of towels fast but they have plenty of Versa-Spa Pro spray tanning booths and had great deals in the spring to get you nice and tan for the summertime. So, here is the story. In my quest on finding a new tanning salon with competitive prices I decided to give Tan Dallas a try again. With their competitive prices it seemed like a no brainer. Why not? So I called to ask about their memberships and I liked the fact that you don't have to sign up for a year and they offer Versa Pro. To my suprise they guy that helped me sign up, I believe his name is Tom, told me that add ons were included too. Awesome I thought! And then I tried the solutions, which I was told were new. They smell so good and last a long time. You have to make sure though that you moisturize because of the winter weather. One of the ladies that work there gave me some tips on that, so I do that nowadays. I had never done Versa Pro before but I'm loving it. I usually do Medium Bronze or Dark Bronze if my tan needs a kick for a last minute event. read more

I used the Groupon and now I am addicted. I have a naturally darker complexion, as I am East Asian, but wanted to get a tan to even out the paler part of my bodies. ZERO judgment from the employees. In fact, she helped me pick out a shade that would achieve a glow! They were insanely kind and helpful. I always self tan at home and this was my first time going to a tanning salon but I'm hooked. She guided me to the best level bed and a lotion that I should use to get the desired outcome. Moving from California finding the right tan location was key for me and after my first session today I know I made the right decision. Lots of beds so dont think there will be a wait which is also key. Like others, I had trouble cancelling my account. You have to go in to the salon to cancel, and they're not open on Sundays. They also charge you a restocking fee which is more than your account fee. I had to pay all of this then an additional fee to cancel. I suggest you do not use this tanning salon. Update: I was going to update my entire review to refute each statement in the reply, namely that my final charge was more than $40, and mention the wildly unprofessional nature of the emails sent to me by Tom, the manager. BUT, the unprofessional nature of the response below ("people.. are finding new things to complain about, etc.) speaks for itself. I hope that my review continues to dissuade customers from doing business with the type of company that would prefer to charge customers a cancellation fee rather than provide a receipt. read more

Never have to wait for their top beds or the versa spray booths. The staff is always accommodating and remembers their regulars. I am very pale and do the dark bronze versa spray and never turns out streaky or orange. Make sure to get the ph balancer for an even look on your arms. The oh balancer also helps to cut down the smell of the spray tan. read more

I've been here about 3 times without a membership just to get airbrushed , from the second I walked in the girl in the front on her phone , I get back to my yak for my service and no ones wiped down the machine , their walls are brown from how dirty , their restroom was worse then a a sorority house ; I've tried to come back a few times in hope that things would get cleaner and they haven't . And I've been 3 times in a year ... so they've had time to "shape " up their staff .. but worse business in Dallas . Would NOT RECOMMEND .
