As a recent, "re-established", new customer I can personally let you know, this PBT Team, at the Denton (Loop 288) location, is OUTSTANDING!!! The current manager has set the bar high for his customer service expectations and his team members have no problem maintaining & exceeding those limits!! As the face of a well established physician's office and small business owner, I am a firm believer in the quote "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression"!!! This team has got their customer service skills DOWN TO AN ART!!!! I have never experience a bad moment or wait time for that matter! They are always willing to go out of their way to assist their customers, whether it is greeting you by your name upon entry or offering support on how to achieve your tan goals! Mom of three just trying to get a spray tan before vacation and they wouldn't let me take my 5& 16m old kids in the room with me. I was a platinum member for years and always took them in there with me. How are moms who always have their kids with them able to tan? If I was trying to bed tan that's understandable but I was handing them snacks and an iPad for 2 minutes while I stepped into a tanning booth...really unacceptable. read more

My experience with palm beach tan has not been a good one I had issues with sanitation not cleaning the tanning beds and the burnt out bulbs not getting replaced to the point it was a hazard of catching on fire and blowing up I had complained for months and the staff just put me off , most of the time they were all on their phones setting on the counters of the shop I had went in and cancelled the month before and told them don't charge me any longer because I'm giving you plenty of notice the month before that I am canceling And they continued to want to charge me for the following month anyway after repeatedly telling them I was no longer going to be going there TO STOP CHARGING ME !!!! I had Called corporate office told them the same thing cancelled my membership and do not charge me any longer I am no longer going to be coming there because of the condition of problems existing with their lack of cleaning and sanitation the bulbs the lack of service and disregarding my request and personal medical issues and even after all of that they still continue to charge me , these people obviously are very bad at providing proper customer service and very shady on quality of professionalism in the way they treat customer but really good at continuing to take your money when you have NOT AUTHORIZED THEM TO DO SO !!!in fact CANCELING MEMBERSHIP means nothing to them they continue to keep charging you after you cancel with them I've been to other Palm beach tans in the past and this one is by far the worst experience I have ever had with one Sandra McGehee read more

NOT CLEAN! During Covid, they claimed to clean all touch-surfaces in the room and on the doors. They didn't do it. What's worse? They don't always clean the tanning beds! It's disturbing. The employees are usually sitting in a back office, chatting. When people come in, they say they need to go clean a room. However, they sometimes only change out the towels and goggles! I see that they have posted a response to my review and asked me to contact them. However, I tried calling their corporate office several times BEFORE posting my review, and left voicemails. read more

Where to begin. I decided I wanted to switch to max tan (begins chili's and let me tell you so much better) so I went in to the store to cancel. I asked TO CANCEL. We had a full blown conversation about it. I was asked if I was "sure I wanted to cancel" as I would lose my rate. I said yes I'm going to max tan I want it CANCELED. Not frozen (I've been burned like that before due to them freezing it) when I asked to cancel. So I made sure to specify CANCEL. I then signed the little pad and left. Fast forwards 5 months and I noticed I got charged for the month. I start looking through and they had charged me all 5 months !!! Even worse My card had expired so they said I also owed a balance of $97! And that they would not be able to cancel my account until it was paid. absolutely not I canceled ?! So I call the store and I got the absolute rudest employee that I have EVER spoken to. She said there was no record of me canceling or freezing or anything. When I said I wanted a refund and the fees waived she snorted and said in the rudest most sarcastic tone she could muster up "yeah good luck getting your money back" and then hung up on me. I just sat there stunned for a min. So I called the other store in Denton. She had written a black note on my account so the next person I spoke to (at the different center) answered as the manager - and said he can stop the payments but just know I have an account balance and therefore "can never step foot in to the establishment or any other planet tan/palm beach facility ever again". I then tried to call corporate. It took me ONE MONTH to get a response. I tried calling I tried leaving messages I tried emails. When I finally did get ahold of someone they said sorry we don't have any record of it. Sucks sorry. BUT WE HAD A CONVERSATION ABOUT IT !!! AND I SIGNED SOMETHING! They did agree I hadn't been in in 4 months though. Since the day I cancelled. so I filed a better business claim. Nothing for another couple of weeks. So I get on Twitter and rant there. Next day money was in my account. But the message on the BBB stated - Direct quote - "money was deposited in account - please note client didn't cancel account until - (the day they canceled it for me after throwing a fit)". What?! Even corporate is rude. They just HAD to get the last word in. Wouldn't agree that it was shady as no other. Just beyond upsetting. Keep in mind this was now the SECOND time I asked to cancel a membership and it wasn't cancelled. The other time being 3 years prior. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE AND IS TRAINED TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING - EVEN SHADY THINGS TO AVOID CANCELLATION. - that was from a former employee's words. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. The staff and horrible customer service is the soul reason why I cancelled my membership altogether this week. I had gradually avoided tanning because of how rude the front desk employees are. I've had countless difficulties with my membership when I moved back to Denton from Austin. The transfer process was the most annoying thing, and the staff always seemed like dealing with it was a waste of their time and a huge inconvenience. I had also paid $30 for a 3-month level upgrade promotion to Platinum, and when I would ask for the lay down they would just default me into the Gold level lay down. When I went to tell them if my Platinum status had continued from Austin, they said "Yes, but you asked for the lower level," when I hadn't. These are just a few examples. I've always been polite to the employees; I don't know what gives them a reason to talk to their customers like they are beneath them, especially considering that the membership is NOT the cheapest compared to other tanning salons. In short, I'd rather be pale than deal with the horrible staff here. read more

The girls are nice however this company does not care about anything but the money! I canceled my membership ( no contract) one day late and they told me basically oh well. I know it's not the girls who work there's fault it's the company. They basically stole my 115 bucks. So now I'm out the money and out of services. Can I tell you ppl told me don't go there but I wanted to give them a try despite what they had said about this company. Never give them your card info. They will not do anything to resolve the issue either. So upset right now. They have no integrity at all! I totally would have come back just personal stuff came up (financially). Please beware!!!! I've been a member of palm beach tan for a while now and really enjoyed my experience until this week. The day I went in to unfreeze my account, an employee named Tori informed me that I also had a credit on my account of $15. I wasn't really very interested in any products but she kept pushing until I caved and bought a lotion for an additional $20 out of pocket. I got home and googled it to see reviews and saw that it was on Amazon for $19 free shipping. I then googled the return policy and their official Facebook popped up saying they accept returns for full credit for 7 days, then store credit thereafter. Today when I went in to return the lotion, for store credit only which I was fine with, the same employee Tori asked me maybe 10 times why I didn't like it, insinuating I didn't try it. I finally told her about the price disparity and it was only then that informed me she could not even give me store credit as it was past 7 days. When I purchased this product, I trusted palm beach which was my mistake. They do not care about customers, only about sales. They've now lost all future sales from me and I will be seeking a new tanning salon to begin a membership with. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this location, and that all starts with strong management. I have been going to this location since August and have only seen it improve since I have been a customer here. Caleb and Reyna do a great job keeping the location clean and stocked, but as much have a staff that supports them and strides with that same leadership on their own. I had an issue with a spray tan I had the other night and went back up there to have been taken care of above and beyond by Stephanie. She is the benchmark on what excellent customer service looks like. I have not been to a Palm Beach Tan that has excelled more than this location. read more

Only reason I'm even putting one star is for Aubrey, she was very sweet and not pushy at all. Melissa on the other hand was VERY rude! So my friend was coming in for her free one for a first time and clearly she didn't want to not make a sale, basically told her without anything to purchase it's basically a terrible spray tan! She also told me it was useless to get a spray tan unless I bought a primer from her and bought additives for the mystic ...even though I wanted to spray in the versa. I wanted to help my friend for the first time to make her feel comfortable just walk back there with them and she stated "don't worry I got it" in a very rude manner. On top of that, I was waiting outside for my friend to greet her after because she was nervous and she told me so rudely to go sit in the front. I understand if I can't stand back there but after all that?! I do NOT recommend the manager Melissa. Overall the cleanliness of this place is good. The staff needs an attitude check because customer service should be their top priority. read more

I can't give negative stars. The employees have no idea what they are doing. One tells you one thing and than the next time you go in they say something else! That was the rudest assistant manager I have ever come across. So very unprofessional. I was told my 12 year old could not come in and use the restroom while I tanned. He was only needing to use the restroom and then go back out and wait in the car with my family. I was told the restrooms were for paying customers only. I was about to be a paying customer. Not anymore. When I asked for the managers card she wouldn't give it to me and wrote down the store number. Not even a name of the manager. When I asked for a corporate manager she told me not to bother, that they would tell me the same thing. Refused to give me a number for corporate. I usually tan at the Palm Beach in Amarillo but am home for the summer and went here to tan. The girl working the front was so rude to me and in a snotty attitude asked if I wanted a membership. I told her I already had one and was here to tan. She told me to scan my finger and it didn't work. I told her it never worked at the one I usually go to either so I brought my ID. She again, very rudely, said, "well what does that matter?". Flashback to yesterday when I tried to tan without my ID and they would not let me. HAD to have my ID on me to tan. HAD TO. So I told her yesterday it seemed like a big deal to have my ID so I brought it today. She then, once again rudely, says, "well my manager is walking in..." Here comes manager. Manager is also SO RUDE and questions my finger scanning. We finally get it to work and with attitude she tells me what room I am in, which turned out to be a lower grade room that I pay for. Apparently today you don't need an ID to tan, yesterday you did, and this Palm Beach has the grumpiest, snottiest people working and managing it. read more
