Disappointed with Palm Beach Tan. I've been coming for years, but recent staff changes have really hurt the experience. Employees seem unaware of promotions and struggle to process them, and management isn't helpful or accommodating. I was also told I couldn't use my own lotion without any clear explanation or alternatives offered. There's little effort to resolve issues or show empathy. Beds are clean, but floors are often dirty and towels are stained. read more

I have been around the tanning industry for years. (I'm not a mister-that's my name on here). I used to work for Solar Dimensions for years. This location is awful. (Dunwoody). The girl I always see when I am there acts like she doesn't have a clue what's going on. The other thing that is absurd is I changed my card on file-twice now. In store. They keep telling me I owe $30 every time bc the girls never changed it properly apparently. I am not going to pay $30 everytime plus my monthly fee bc your staff can't figure out how to change the card properly. The manger was not helpful over the phone. I'm sorry, but when I worked as a manager in this industry-we fix our wrongs for the client. I wil take my business elsewhere. And don't go here. read more

I should start off by saying this is my first review ever. But I'll have to be a Karen over this experience. It's funny how when I first walked in 2 people were waiting with no one behind the counter. After waiting a couple minutes, someone finally came up. Once I asked to speak with the manager, 5 girls magically showed up behind the counter to watch our conversation. It was incredibly professional! No wonder they have 3 stars on Yelp and 2.9 on Google! I had the same experience as Mr. G. They will purposefully not charge your card a membership fee so they can then assess a late fee to accumulate as well. Watch out for this especially if you have paused your membership. They won't let you know that your account is late either. Then when you ask questions, you'll be told it's actually late fees from 2025 before you ever put your membership on hold. It was clear any of the 5 employees watching didn't know what was going on either. It was actually comical! Palm Beach Tan is definitely corporate tanning where every nickel and dime made counts! Makes sense when you think about the tanning industries' decline over the years as a whole, coupled with the fact that the employees primarily make commission (hence why you see people talk about being pressured in other reviews). But what frustrates me the most, though, is that they refuse to give you any kind of statement showing charges to your account. Everything must be done solely via express communication with the manager. Yet, when you go in person to speak with the manager, she won't be able to help much either. Moreover, she won't give you any kind of email or someone above her to talk to about billing. It's pretty absurd they don't maintain their customers records. I wonder how they stay in compliance with the Secretary of State running a business like that. PLUS, I've been continuing to go here for over 3 years while dealing with the stupid fees and $70+ a month membership, while continuously seeing dirty floors and stained towels. I think that says more about how much I'll put up with before saying forget it, though. Moral of the rant is, don't be like me, walk around the salon before you buy a membership! You do pay for convenience, but at some point a line gets crossed. So learn from me, it's not worth your money unless you're doing the sunless membership. read more

Staff is great and the company has been upgrading and adding new beds recently. The place is clean and has lots of options for tanning.

They have relocated to 5486 Chamblee dunwoody Rd Dunwoody, GA in Dunwoody Village. Ext to Dunwoody Tavern. It's a much smaller location and the hours have changed. They are not longer an "anchor" store and close at 9 on weekdays. They have most of the same beds and still have mystic and versa pro but have gotten rid of the older model versa. The storefront is easily missed compared to the other older Palm Beach Tans. I drive 5 miles out of my way to come to this location compared to the location on Roswell Road or Buckhead. The girls here are so friendly and nice. They always have a smile on their face, they know my name and which bed I want as I walk in the door. In my opinion, this Palm Beach Tan location is bigger and has a better selection of tanning beds. The diamond bed at the Roswell Rd location is always broken and bulbs burnt out. I never have that problem here. This location also has 3 different kinds of spray tanning beds as well. Depending on how much color you want you can choose from: Versapro, Versaspa and Mystic Tan. The spray tan choice depends on your natural color tone and what color you are looking for: red, gold or bronzed brown. I prefer Mystic Tan but thats just my personal preference. The team here will be happy to help you figure out which one is best for you. This Palm Beach location is OTP but I can guarantee won't get the customer service, sales on lotions and variety of beds that this location has. Palm Beach really has the best tanning beds and spray tanning booths in the city!! Come see why they're the best in the business. read more

Two stars because yes, the beds are clean. Yes, you will get a tan from either the beds or spray machines. HOWEVER, it does not come without a high price point and some serious snarky attitude from the employees. I came by today for a spray tan, and my lord, you would have thought I asked the assistant manager to perform brain surgery with a plastic knife. She had ZERO personality and when I asked her questions about the product SHE WAS SELLING, I got nothing but snark and rudeness back. HOW ARE YOU AN ASSISTANT MANAGER WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS?? Save your money and go to a local tanning spot. I've filed a complaint before through headquarters and they did nothing. Palm Beach DOES NOT care about their customers and will hire anyone with a pulse to punch keys on a computer. read more

Staff is friendly and polite! I got s membership there and it seemed like every time I went, there was an issue with the stand up bed I was placed in. The last time I went, was on my lunch break. The stand up didn't want to turn on, the associate at the desk put me in another room but after he did that, there was already someone in there so I had to wait. Come to find out the door was just locked there was no one in the bed. I canceled my membership that day! Fast ford to this week, I find out they never canceled my membership even though I received the email. I called the store because I got an over draft on my account because of this and she said she would contact corporate and call me back, this was last Friday. I have not heard anything and have not been issued a credit for the $108 that had been taken from my account the last two months... They told me to email them and they would be in contact with me and I have still yet to hear from anyone. I will be reaching out to the BBB read more

it was my first time coming there and it was so terrible. like ducking horrendous. it is not like a normal fucking spray tan place. and the stupid lady working was no help. she told me there were 4 steps instead of 2. my back didn't even get tanned. im fucking pissed. a spray tan should not cost over $30. and now my grandma is gonna be pissed at me. she couldn't even figure out how to put paper in a printer read more

Good experience at this tanning salon. I only docked this location one star as the membership costs are a little on the high side. At the same time, you get what you pay for. I never had to wait to get into a bed, and the beds were always clean and ready to go. The office staff is helpful and very knowledgeable about their industry. The location can get a little busy at times and the "check in" process gets a little bogged down, but this is expected. If you are looking for a good tanning salon in the area, you can't beat Palm Beach Tan. read more

This location is NOT CLEAN!! Floors are dirty. Sanitizer is NEVER up to code with test strips. Staff has No clue how to work the beds. Its unfortunate this "new" location isn't up to par. I love tanning however I am always disappointed by something when I come to Pbt these days. Its upsetting to pay the monthly diamond rate that I do and half the beds never work, and no staff to greet me when I walk in. When they are up front to greet, they are incredibly pushy about selling products. If I say no the first time, don't keep trying. No is no Period. I wish I got the name of the employee I dealt with today. She's always there short Caucasian blondish always wears her hair up in a bun. I will be canceling my membership and will never return to this location. She's pushy with sales and once told me I need to bite the bullet and pay for one of the most expensive lotions. Today she lacked tact and was rude and condescending. I almost asked who she was talking to that way being I am a 35 year old grown intelligent woman who was never rude to her. I decided to walk out. I have never been treated like this at any location. I'm tempted to cancel now but the month is already paid for. Not the cleanest location either. This store is located next to Gala's Pizza. Tucked in the back of the shopping plaza and behind Chick-Fil-a. The associates are generally personable and ready to take are of all of your needs and questions. I do not tan in a bed but use their spray tans. They have both a Mystic Tan and VersaSpa. I have used both and have had best results when I use a primer and extender. I am not a fan of their prices of $50 per a sunless tan, so only purchase a spray tan when they have specials or go in on Mondays for $10 spray tans. Paying for the add on's - primer, extender, bronzer, etc is worth it. I am major fan of organic spray tans with a few mobile companies. Palm Beach tan go organic please!! read more

Prices are reasonable. Easy to tan and go! Advice on which bed to use and starting times was solid. I enjoy the quiet time and warmth.

I have been tanning at Palm Beach for years. In Feb. I left my diamond ring behind. I realized it when I had gotten home from running around. By then the store was already closed. So I called first thing in the morning. Only to hear that nobody had turned it in. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I left that ring in the room. I did not have insurance on the ring (A mistake I will never make again), more than anything that ring held so much sentimental value to me and all I wanted was to get it back no questions asked. I filed a police report and was told by the police that this seems to happen often at that location.The staff was told me so many conflicting stories and they were not communicating with their district manager. By the time I finally was able to get a hold of someone in head office the ring had been long gone. I do not like to place blame on anyone, but all facts point to it being an inside job. Whoever cleaned that room after me, picked up that ring. I am not sure if they kept it for themselves or sold it to a pawn shop. I think the beds are great, but I don't trust them one bit. read more

As an avid tanner I think I have tried most of the tanning salons in the area. Although, there is a new one that I have not tried yet. Palm Beach Tan has the best high pressure beds. They have a new open bed so you dont really sweat. 12 minutes and you are tan. Each location has different beds. The best 2 locations are in Dunwoody and Buckhead loop on Lenox Rd. They have several packages to choose from. If you decide to put your membership on hold you still get a $5 credit per month towards a tan.They also have late hours which is a plus. NPWH read more

This tanning bed has VersaSpa PRO so I make the drive out of my way to come here! I've been going to Palm Beach Tan for years. Palm Beach Tan employees salary is based on their sales so forgive them for being sales focused because that's how they make their money. If you can't afford or don't need a lotion or a higher package that you came in for then just explain that to them. Don't give a bad review solely based on the fact that they're doing their job! If they weren't pushy with sales they would not be working there. Base reviews on customer service quality of the tanning beds and quality of the product. That's why give the highest rating possible because they have great beds and always good results. Unlike Sun Tan City, Palm Beach Tan has a 24 hour rule... which I think is a wonderful policy when we're using something as controversial as tanning beds. read more

I was visiting Atlanta for 3 weeks and decided to get a tan I signed up with Palm Beach tan they took my credit card and have taken out over $600 I tanned 10 times I use the tanning bed for a total of 1 hour and a half and basically charged me $600 this place is a joke and they will rob you blind if you give them your credit card read more

The only reason this location doesn't get 5 stars is because of the girl I had to deal with this morning. She was very unpleasant and seemed very unhappy to be there. I had just gotten a spray tan and it was raining out so I sat on the couch at the front waiting for the rain to slow down enough so I wouldn't ruin my spray tan. I told her I wasn't trying to awkwardly linger but didn't have an umbrella. She looked at me, smirked, and continued folding towels. Something about her was very unprofessional. Other than this experience, all of the other employees have been very nice. They don't try to guilt you into buying products like many other places do. They offer and when you say no, they don't act any different. I enjoy going to this location. It's convenient and (usually) the mystic tan booth is clean and my tan goes on evenly. I've been in it once when it was disgusting, but the girl said they were super busy with mystic tans that day so I decided just to let it go. Overall I recommend this location. read more

Finding the free time to do things, like tan, isn't always easiest for me and the 24 hour rule makes it very difficult. Just went to lay and was turned away because I tanned at 7:15 the night before. It was 6pm. So after rushing and fighting traffic, I was turned away because of an hour. I get the whole safety aspect of the connect, but jeez. I'll be cancelling my membership simply for the fact that I pay for something that can't be used at my convenience. read more

I came in March 8th, I want to say. I was new to spray tanning, and I only wanted to do this once. I was greeted by a man working there, and I cannot remember his name, but he was beyond helpful and more than eager to help me out. He also gave me a free spray tan in my college town, and I really appreciated it. I have been to two more Palm beach tans after this experience, and nothing has compared to the wonderful customer service I received at this location. read more

I'v had a PBT membership for years and primarily visit this location, except when traveling. The salon is clean and the equipment- with the exception of Versa Pro which seems quirky - generally works well. My issue is with the overly pushy sales tactics. At every visit - instead of checking me in - the staff slows down what should be a quick and easy process with an aggressive and frankly annoying sales pitch. PBT should appreciate that my time is valuable and that I'm already paying for a pricey monthly membership. No means NO folks! read more

Honestly, this tanning salon is clean. And they have good beds. But I have never experienced such pushy sales people in my entire life. I used to work retail and I understand, but seriously every time I sign in they are harrassing me about lotions and upgrades. It takes away from the enjoyable experience. Stop bullying your customers into upgrades and trying to get us to use the lotion you want us to buy from you. If I tell you no one time, that should be enough. Please don't make me say no to you 5 times in the span of 45 seconds. It's too much. And if I have free upgrades on my account, why in the world would I choose to pay you for an upgrade? Please use your brain and read your customer's body language and listen to what they tell you. I don't want to buy your $100 bottle of lotion and I do not want to upgrade. Omg!!! Let me start off by saying never go to this location on a holiday because you will receive the worst customer service possible. Came in on Easter Sunday to get a spray tan I was informed that the internet server was down and I would not be allowed to get a tan if I wasn't in the system prior. I explained to her that I had never been to that location I normally go to the buckhead location so I might not be in their particular database. She proceeds to look me up in the system no results, so I called the buckhead location and they informed myself and the cashier Melissa that I could be entered as a walk in, so at that point Melissa says ok hangs up the phone then says well I didn't intend to have to input you this is way it's more work. Really?! Is this how a customer should be addressed? Because now you have to do a little more work to satisfy the client seems like common sense to me but I guess not. She told me to wait around like 30 minutes in hopes that the Internet would come back up but the whole time she could have manually entered it. Told me I should consider coming back at a later date lol wow!!! oh btw she a pack of newports I believe sitting on the counter saying she needs a smoke break unbelievable. Then to add insult to injury I called the store to tell a manager today he said "oh well our internet was down, and I believe your being nasty". What does the internet have to do with customer service. I watched the clerk Melissa turn away about 4 clients in the time I was there due to Internet but that was laziness because clearly I was able to get my tan because I was persistent and I know a slacker when I see one. read more

APRIL 2013. SCAM! BEDS BROKEN .Do not go here if you want to be tan. I have been tanning for the last 10 years and I have been to high and low end tanning salons. I have been tanning at this location, and the Buckhead location, for the past month and I paid for a medium level package ($55 monthly). I have gone 4-5 times weekly since February, it is now April and I am still not tan. I thought I would be more then good since I did not choose the lowest package. I told the store to cancel my membership. When they asked why, I told them I wasnt happy because I was not tan. So their attempt to keep me was to give me a free upgrade to this big fancy bed. Ok, so the fancy bed had air conditioners and a spritzer that DID NOT WORK. This place is all about the looks and these big fancy tanning beds that do not work. Then, I was told the package I signed up for only gives me a base tan so I need to upgrade to get a real tan. So if you are rich, GREAT! go here! If you want to pay $100 a month to be tan, your an IDIOT!! Go somewhere else if you want a real tan this summer. TRUST ME!! I love to tan, I KNOW!!! read more
