I've been going to this location for many years. They are always very welcoming and pleasant. The store is very clean. I love that you can earn tan dollars here and every once in a while you will get a surprise of discounted products or tan dollars towards products. I love this location :) it's always extremely clean and everything is so well organized. Everyone seems to know one another and they are always so warm to everyone that comes in. The workers are always so happy, helpful, and knowledgeable. Tonight the two ladies working even pulled up my history of the previous times I had done spray tans and compared each type of session that I have done. They even pulled up my session when I went to another location (I had told them I wasn't happy with that other location once because they weren't helpful and I didn't like my tanning results). In the end they helped me find a great spray tanning package deal! They have always been extremely thorough with the procedure since first time I went in (which was months ago) and have remained consistent still, even tonight! First off I have been using this location almost 3 years. Never had an issue. The past few months the lay down beds got so hot I got dizzy. Meaning the fans were blowing hot air along with the hot bed. So, I brought this to their attention they said that the beds get used so much service cannot keep up. ( I do not have this issue in Vienna or Ashburn. Their beds are good. Unfortunately this one is closest) So, I just used the stand up. As that was the only bed that didn't get super hot, until today. I have a burn on my back amd palm and arm from accidentally touching the metal in the standup. Burns ffs. Felt like a hot curling iron and now I'm going to the ER. Pass on this location. Not happy at all. Even more annoyed by the fact that the tan was TERRIBLE, was blotchy and left me with orange hands and feet and knees and almost no color on my legs, but yet still had to pay for the tan even though it was highly unsatisfactory. I've done spray tanning before by a person and never had this type of unevenness. So just remember, with this company and their "memberships", there is no true "buyers remorse" because the moment you get sprayed it doesn't matter how bad of a job they do, its $37 and a thank you very much. sorry but this is terrible customer service. I get wanting to avoid people signing up and getting a free tan out of the deal, but for the manager to not even want to see the tan in person or dig any deeper into why the tan sucked is not professional at all. For the amount of customers this place has, there aren't enough beds and if its noon or 5pm you are waiting for over 30 minutes for a bed, for it to be cleaned, and for the girls there to remember you are sitting there waiting......and if you are waiting, you should pray there are enough spots for you to sit or standing for 30 minutes gets old, quick. The waiting area is so small and the people in line are basically standing on top of you when they walk in the door. I have posted pictures of the beds that have parts broken, music that doesnt work through the speakers, and even contacted customer care. 3 Months I have had this membership and NOTHING has been done about it. Half the time the beds are cleaned half-assed. And by that I mean, they dont wipe down the button area, the area where you grab the bed to close it and the bed itsself. How do I know? I have to bring my own wipes because I can feel the gunk that is built up there from tanning lotion. Also, I got an infection on my leg from the beds so I definitely bring my own wipes from now on, just counting on the days when I can cancel my account and lay by the pool since this the options for tanning salons are slim around this area. For the price I pay for a membership, I wish they'd get their act together and clean the beds, fix the beds with broken parts, lights etc and expand to accomodate everyone. read more

The staff has always been friendly, not pushy, but seemingly genuinely happy to help you find the right lotion for your needs. I literally dread coming here to tan. I get good price and it is the only one in the area but 8/10 employees just have the nastiest attitude I have ever encountered... Seriously, these girls are worse than used car salesmen. Which is ironic, because I come in, give my name and the amount of time I'd like to tan and somehow they cant just leave it at that; I'm always getting hassled about how I need to upgrade or get x, y, and z lotion. They can never just accept a no thank you when I decline either, instead they just push further and further. I've gotten used to it and pretty much come to expect it but today was my last straw. I go in to buy a silver level session and the employee goes along the lines of, "You know, silver level doesn't even actually give you a tan, just a base so it's really just a waste". Okay, why would you EVER say that to a customer? Not only are you challenging their request in an incredibly rude way, but you are also saying the equipment that the company owns is a piece of crap -- because if that was truly is case, why are you even offering it as an option to clients? I don't think PBT would like to know that their employees are saying silver level beds (of which they have a ton) are a "waste". The 24 hour rule is still in effect and still a little annoying - but I'll take it as long as the beds are always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the prices stay the same! For $29.99/mo you can have unlimited tanning in the Level 1 beds. I did this the first month and got a great base tan (and I'm a natural redhead!) I upped my plan to the Level 2 beds for $49.99/mo and am not disappointed at all! I would definitely recommend this salon to my friends. They also run specials each month, including buy-one-get-one-free upgrades, 25% off lotion, etc. One bad experience doesn't equal a bad company and I plan on continuing to tan here as long as I have to live in NOVA. read more

First off. 24 hour rule?!? Other salons have this but aren't as nazi. If you miss traffic and get there earlier than the day before they make you wait to the very second to tan again which really ruins someone's errands at the end of the evening or even morning. The staff. RUDE UNKNOWLEDGABLE TEENAGERS. worst workers ever. They were more concerned with their texting than my questions on why this bed was a 100$ a month vs $20. They expected me to understand high pressure. Their friends were constantly behind the counter and hovering around making it hard to get the attention of the dumb teenager. They also acted like it was a pain to clean a bed they didn't clean and I had gotten completely undressed and noticed all the nastiness inside. Ugh!!! The beds. OVER RATED AND OVER PRICED. I got a better than for less money and better customer service at hollywood tans. They didn't work half the time and the radio would blare and have static in my ears and I couldn't turn it off. The buttons were caked with tanning lotion and dirty. The water mist smelled dirty and gross and hit me in the eyes. The aroma never worked and my favorite bed (sun angel) was always broken or dirty (even the sensor). There were also no full body mirrors or stickers to check your progress. The beds were always so gross I wore my underwear. Lotion: there is nothing special about their 100$ lotions. I have a better tan with Walmart indoor tanning lotion. This place isn't in it for your satisfaction but your money. You are always waiting 30 minutes for a bed (any bed) unless you get there at opening or closing. Hollywood tans is only 30$ for their highest bed and it's only 8 minutes. Not 20 :) and they are always clean!!!!!!!!!!! And the girls are so knowledgable and show you around. read more

I have only recently started going to Palm Beach Tan. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. This past Friday I decided I wanted to be healthier and try a spray tan. My greatest fear was looking orange. My greatest fear happened. It was an awesome experience until I woke up the next morning. I have spent the last two days scrubbing myself with anything I can find. I bought exfoliating gloves and I'm finally starting to see some difference. I'm not bashing Palm Beach Tan. I'm the idiot that made the decision. I'm writing this in hopes that I can spare someone the embarassment of looking like a jaundiced human carrot. I have hardly left the house becuase of how harsh I look and the comments some of my closest friends made. Just be sure you know what your doing if you get a spray tan. One review said they up sell too much that has never been a problem for me, they of course ask if I need lotion because obviously you have to have lotion to tan. I have been to many different tanning salons throughout my life and have lived all over the country this is the absolute best one I have been too. The payment process is straight forward and no hidden fees and you can cancel without being penalized. Also, their beds are amazing! I was able to get dark very fast. My daughter and I went to try their 'free' spray tan. We had coupons but they wouldn't accept them because "we wrote our codes on the coupon and the location wasn't printed out on there either." I explained how they printed out like that but they still wouldn't accept them. So my daughter and I left and brought back a new set of coupons, with the information printed on them as the store said they wanted. She and I walked in to use our coupons and the girl said that my daughter "needed to be 16 and to show a photo ID in order to be put in the system." I told them "we were just getting a spray tan and she didn't bring her purse/ID with her and she IS 16." After going round and round with the store clerk, she changed her story stating that it didn't matter if she was 14 she just needed an ID. So people beware. I wouldn't go there. I am visiting from out of town, but needed to use my monthly spray tan. The staff was not helpful or nice. I explained I was still fairly new to the experience, but her rudeness continued. Then she sends me to a machine that she said was the one I used last time (at my normal location) however this machine was not the same one and was VERY different. Leaving Palm Beach Tan I am unhappy, and highly likely to stop my membership since this is the one I will use when I travel over the hoildays and summer time. I've always enjoyed tanning at Palm Beach and most of the staff is friendly and professional but today I had a pretty bad experience. First of all, while I was getting dressed an employee knocked on the door and I had to say "just a minute please" - no response from them. I go to the restroom and by the time I get to the front where I'm about to exit there was a line of people all the way to the door and the blonde female employee calls me out by name and says "Catherine just so you know, you're not allowed to use oils in our tanning beds". I asked her what she was talking about while I pulled out my $72 bottle of Kardashian Glow and explained that this is the only thing I used or even have in my bag. I proceeded to show her the contents of my bag while asking why someone had knocked on the door prior to my exiting. With an attitude she said "someone else was waiting for your bed and it had been 15 minutes". That statement is also incorrect as I had texted a friend who is waiting for me at Sport and Health down the street as soon as the bulbs turned off to let them know I was on my way and between that time and my exit only 7 minutes had passed. I commented that if you weren't allowed to use this type of tanning lotion, maybe it should not be sold here. She rudely commented again that there was oil all over the floor and that if it wasn't me it must have been from the person before me. That is a viable option since they spend virtually no time cleaning between customers. As I exited the restroom there was already a new customer walking back to bed 8. The most frustrating thing for me (having spent 7 years in the hospitality industry in hotel management) was the lack of customer care or apology for accusing me - by name in front of a crowd of people - of something I had not done. She then proceeded to roll her eyes, ignore me, and start talking to the next customer in line. I then asked for the managers number and she provided me with a card. I called the number on the card and it rang the store - guess who answered? The person I was calling to discuss. I typically don't leave negative reviews online because I prefer to discuss it with the store manager and give them the opportunity to address it internally first but since I have no way to contact the manager I feel that this is the only way to make this known. I'm not a teenager - I'm 40 years old and do not appreciate the way I was treated and spoken to at all. If there was another location anywhere close to here I would definitely not visit this location again. Accusing me of something I most certainly did not do, calling me out by name in front of several people, knocking on the door trying to rush me out when all I do is get dressed and leave (I'm not one to linger in there putting on make up, etc), then rolling her eyes and blatantly ignoring me to address another customer was all just a little too much for me - especially with the total lack of apology read more

I HAD AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I was a previous member at Palm beach tan in Gainesville VA, up until I got RING WORM from the tanning beds. I went into Palm Beach as soon as I was done at the doctors and they diagnosed the ring worm. I went in asking for a refund due to the conditions I was in... they refused and said "they were unable too". They never once apologized or asked for an alternative solution, and on top of that they were extremely rude and had horrendous customer service. SECONDLY ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!!!!! I personally have seen one of the workers charge a customer for a lotion they DID NOT ASK FOR and convinced them it was part of signing up with the membership. They earn commission on the lotions they sell, hints why they nag you to buy anything and everything. THIRDLY. They say they are giving you a $10/15 promotion when you sign up for the membership but that is actually the regular price, they are a complete scam. I've even had previous ex employees from Palm beach say there cleaning is not as sanitary as they say, over 300 people are in and out there everyday, can you imagine the bacteria and diseases building up?. Absolute worst experience EVER! I have been tanning my entire life so I am no stranger to how the logistics of tanning works. As a matter of fact, I have been going to Palm Beach for years mostly because there are no other options within a 20minute radius. Those of us with a job and children have very little (precious!) time to spend on ourselves. Tanning is one of my "me" moments and I refuse to spend it sitting in a waiting room while others are able to go ahead of me. If this was once, I totally understand but this is pretty much the NORM. I have no idea if there is a commission based program but my bet is that there is. The girls working spent more time trying to sell people in front of me products, service, upgrades, etc opposed to putting me in a room. Remember me...the one that has already spent 100s if not 1000s at your place of business! And once I called Corporate (and the store manager), I was told my message was sent to someone already and they would get back to me....in 3 DAYS!.
