I got a spray tan using the versapro machine. I have used this machine before and like the results. However, the machine showed the incorrect level and that the fluid levels were expired. I ask the front desk before proceeding and she ensured me that her software shows that the machine is set up correctly. Anyways, I trusted the process and got the spray tan. I signed up for their free service offer, even got a registration email. They would not honor it. They also had different pricing on their website versus at the location. Since I was already there, I bought two sessions of their second strongest bed--about $100, and since it was my first time there, they only let me stay for 5 minutes. Seems a bit ridiculous to go in for a free trial and end up paying $50 for five minutes. Would not recommend this place at all. I'm gonna go back for my second session and hopefully can actually stay for the whole 10 minutes. Don't fall for the promo. Total BS. read more

I went in today with very little knowledge about tanning salons in general. I was greeted by Kenzie. She was friendly and helped me by answering all my questions. I opted for the tan bed and spray tan the night before my event. Kenzie made me feel confident in choosing this option. The room was clean, the tan bed was also clean and simple to use (specially for those who have no idea what they're doing; like me!) I look forward to returning at the end of the week! I left here in tears today. Also, I had to wash my $42 tan off. I drove all the way from College Park in the middle of the week to use a "free" spray tan coupon I received an email for (yes, I read the fine print). Also, I called in advance the night before to make sure the free coupon worked; the lady on the phone said that it would "definitely work without a problem." However, when I got there, the lady at the desk and the manager (who the lady contacted via text) told me I could not use it even though the coupon was good through April 20 (I got there April 16). I asked why, and she said they "are not choosing to do it today." She was very blunt and did not explain to me her reasoning for excluding me from this promotion. She simply kept saying "I know it says that, but we're not going to do it today." I decided that since I came all this way, I should pay for a spray tan, which was $42 (which is a lot for a broke college student). When I did, my hairnet fell off from the fan of the machine and the tan stained my newly bleached blonde hair. After that, the machine did not reach the inside of my arms whatsoever. Now, my newly dyed blonde hair is stained dark, my arms are still pale, and I didn't get to use my "feel" coupon (which I'm still unsure as to why I couldn't use). Absolutely absurd to nickel and dime you dedicated customer base that keep your doors open outside of prom and summer. If the moisturizer cost more for that booth that's a PBT problem not your customers. Your heat lamp in the spa booth hasn't worked for over a year are you refunding me 5.00? Just waited for 20 minutes and then was helped. I kept trying to figure out how the pricing worked. Basically the second level bed is $95 just for one month. The second level bed, out of five. Let that sink in. They have this hidden $25 fee for their flex and their regular pricing. The $25 fee goes away after the first month of a membership. I've been to 1 million tanning places over the last decade and a half and this is by far the most incredibly expensive place I've ever been to. It's unfortunate because they seem to have good reviews otherwise. Don't waste your time and drive all the way here unless you're willing to pay the money, because I couldn't find the prices online and regrettably risked lucking out. :( read more

I'm not a review type kinda guy, but I definitely give credit where credit is due! I've been here three times in the last two months. Each time is amazing, specifically because of all the employees. This time, Alyssa deserves a high accolade for her assistance, which is why I'm writing this review. I come after work, around 8-9pm. It's quiet at that time which is nice. Each staff member I've been with has been exceptional. More on that soon... The facility is extremely clean. I only use one room, and every time things are laid out and presented just like the first. It's almost as if I'm going through déjà vu! Floors and beds and towels were impeccably clean. Very impressed. Today I came in around 9pm. Alyssa was there, seeming to be cleaning up. I think I startled her when I came in (sorry!), but she greeted me and was extremely friendly. I'm very new at this, and somewhat embarrassed, but she made me feel SO comfortable. Alyssa is EXTREMELY knowledgeable on all the products and the tanning process, too! She was willing to help, and stayed with me through every step. Even during cleanup time (and I do the same at my work, so I understand it is a nuisance to be interrupted), she didn't rush me at all. Thanks again to Alyssa and Palm Beach Tan! Loooooong time member here. Customer service is hit or miss, but employees are young and therefore immature, so some of it is to be expected. Tonight I had an experience with a passive aggressive associate who has previously been extremely nice to deal with, so I don't know what happened with her tonight but I don't pay $70+ a month to be treated that way. I've already sent a lengthy email to customer service/corporate, but potential customers should be forewarned too. In the past I have tolerated the gaps in customer service because the locations are clean and I'm happy with the end result, but this is a non-essential service and no one deserves to be treated the way I was treated tonight, especially for that price! read more

I have been coming here about a month or so and I have always had a good experiences. The beds have been clean and the rooms are clean as well. I'm from California and these beds are way newer and more "high tech" than the beds I had at my last boutique, so that's a plus. The prices are a little high as I was used to getting package "deals" a couple times a year and I really only want to tan once a week. So, to make the tanning worth the monthly price you almost have to go twice a week. The staff is hit or miss on friendliness, but I don't come there to make friends, right? Customer service has really gone downhill over the last year+ and I have to agree with others that the staff is way too pushy. It didn't used to be this way! I get it..they need to make $$ but their sales tactics are a turnoff. I don't want to be hassled when I come here. If I need a lotion, I'll ask for advice on what to buy. They used to have much better Mystic deals too... they've made it so pricey that it makes more sense to go with a monthly unlimited package.. but who wants the long-term commitment? If I lived in Florida and bared lots of skin most of the year, I'd consider getting spray tans year-round. So, I'll continue paying my $7.50 a month to hold my account until I decide to resume the unlimited package this summer. If the service worsens, I'm just going to cancel altogether and just apply my own bronzing creme. It's not worth the hassle. read more

I was on my phone on speaker changing my clothes in the room I was in and I guess they were trying to rush me so they started the tanning machine without me in it like if they were trying to rush me... it was upsetting. I joined Palm Beach Tan in Feb 2020 on a trial basis. After a few visits, I decided to end my contract. I was originally told I had until the end of March 2020 to cancel without further charges. I called the salon but received a recording so I visited the store. It was temporarily closed due to Covid. So, I emailed the salon to explain I wanted to cancel my membership. In subsequent conversations with 2 representatives at the salon, they admitted they had received my cancelation email and it was in my customer file. HOWEVER in July 2020 the salon began charging my credit card again! Without my authorization and after having received my cancellation. I have spoken to 2 people at the Salon and demanded a refund for these erroneous/fraudulent charges. I was told only a district manager could authorize my refund and they would be in touch. No one has contacted me. To make matters worse, I AM STILL GETTING CHARGED even after disputing the back charges and both representatives admitting I have a cancelation email on file!! I came to Palm Beach Tan with absolutely NO knowledge of anything - beds, spray tans, products, etc. and wanted to get tan for an event in less than a month. I was pretty intimidated and nervous in the beginning (seriously, I knew NOTHING), but the staff here were AMAZING and made it so easy. They were all so helpful and kind (especially Roni and Colette who answered a LOT of questions from me with endless patience). They worked with me every step of the way and walked me through everything, they answered all of my questions, and worked hard to make sure I'd get the color I wanted. Everything was very clean and I never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. The cost might be a bit high, but I'm not sure how to assess what the cost really should be. I don't tan all year long, but I like to start the end of Spring/beginning of Summer with some color, and likewise around mid-Fall when my color starts to fade. Because of that, I've never been picky with my tanning salons, but Palm Beach Tan has really set the bar. PROS: - Lots of bed and package options to choose from. I went with "Platinum: Deep Bronzing" - Beds are new (almost futuristic looking!) compared to the couple other salons I've been to - Large rooms - with enough space to move around and hang your clothes and purse - Spacious waiting area in the case a bed is full - Knowledgeable staff who will help you pick a package and tanning lotion - Lots of free parking in front of the salon - Great hours CONS: - Can get pretty busy around peak times (i.e., right after work). I've had to wait ~15 minutes for my bed of choice before. - Staff at front desk can get pretty overwhelmed, especially when selling a new package. I've had to wait ~5 minutes just to punch in my pin to pick a bed. And then maybe more waiting. Despite the cons, I walk in expecting to get a tan and I always get a great one. Palm Beach Tan does not disappoint! Prepare to get a lot of these: "Did you go on vacation?" "Have you been out in the sun?" "Are you the fourth Kardashian sister?" (Jk) Also! PBT offers specials where you can upgrade. Definitely try out the Diamond Bed at least once. You might think you're on an all-inclusive resort with the misting, mood music and what not. Man I really love this location. Not only is it super clean and never has a wait. It's really the staff for me. Every time I come here I greeted with super genuine staff that really care about your tanning needs. I recently upgraded my membership with Cody and he was extremely helpful asked the right question and made a suggestion that really fit with what I needed. Another staff member recently mentioned their specials on lotions and recommended a lotion that I purchased that I absolutely love it gives the best color. I went to Palm Beach Tan and purchased a month long membership to prepare for an event. My experience was with the tanning beds. I received great customer service and recommendations. The facilities were clean and I tanned quicker than anticipated using platinum beds number 16, 15, and 1. Only draw back is start up fee and overall high costs for a short term commitment. I went after work and never had to wait more than a min or two for a bed, and that's only because I had a favorite. All in all, I was really happy with the services and would definitely return if I had another event or occasion. read more

I Have Been a Member Here for Just over 14 Months and during That Time They Have Not Change the Bulbs in Either of the Two (2) High-Pressure Bed That I Use {Bed in Room 17 & the Stand-up in Room 21}. However, That Is Not the Only Discrepancy Existing in the Salon. If You Are Spray Tanning I Would Suggest That You Call in Advance to Make Sure That the Spray Booth of Your Choice Is in Operating Condition. I Say This Because I Had Made the Trip to the Salon More Than Two Dozen Times Only to Find out That There Is an Issue with One or More of Their Spray Booths. The Minor Issues Would Consist of Been out of My Selected Spray Potion in the Major Issues Would Be Mechanical. Most Issues Take a Week or More to Resolve. This Is a Minor Discrepancy. Skin cancer risk aside (really, tho, we should all stop tanning plz), this place needs to not be frequented by YOU. Like most tanning places, it's over-priced, employed by under-aged (i.e., rude and incompetent because they don't know any better) girls (hire a guy too, maybe?), and probably not cleaned enough for anyone's standards. Beds are broken, NO ONE consults you about what you maybe shouldn't be doing (don't let a white AF (i.e., not-tan, not the race) customer tell you they want the max time and let them. seriously?) The girls that work the counter literally don't know how to check people in and clean beds at the same time; often 10+min wait because the line to check in is long although the entire bldg knows every single bed is empty (owners/mgrs: maybe have more than one person work at once? or have the more than one person you've scheduled to work at once actually WORK AT ONCE?) anyway, not giving one star because, well, who doesn't lower the bar for businesses like tanning locales? on a serious, monetary note: their "freeze" service is silly... what they don't tell you is the "minimal" monthly auto fee you still pay during freezing that is supposedly 'redeemable as pbt dollars' doesn't EVER count towards your future monthly payments (if you can't read between the lines, i was lied to, which, gee, no surprise considering i'm sure the average career there is about two weeks). Only lotions and upgrades qualify for pbt dollars. Overpriced. Teenage daughter and I were "sold" a 3-session package but in the system, we have a monthly membership. Tried to cancel after I was charged a 4th session - told can't cancel via phone. Was also told a "note will go to the manager, she would call". No call ever received. I have been to numerous tanning salons over the past 25 years but I have to say that Palm Beach Tanning Salon in Rockville is by far the BEST tanning salon I have ever been to. This place has everything you can imagine. The beds are up to date and modern and the place is so clean you could eat off the floors!! Today was my first time at Palm Beach Tanning and Kelly is a one of a kind gem. Not only did she set me up after explaining every package deal there was but she did it with professionalism and friendliness! I felt like I had been coming there for years. Not once did she seem bothered or overwhelmed explaining the ins and outs of the salon to me while helping others get into a bed. The beds and overall facility are nice, and the prices are okay, a little on the high end but okay. A get a month of unlimited tanning for $40/month, which is higher than some other places. Extremely displeased!!!!! As a newly upgraded member a diamond member who gets a spray tan for my profession. I always do the same thing a (cocktail tan) its always the same thing i spacificly told not one but two of the girls up front what i wanted. When i came out of the bed i was told there is a wait for the (versa pro) the spray tan!!! This defeated the whole purpose of a cocktail tan and might i add i drive all the way from Germantown to this spacific location. The staff there are very pushy to buy their ridiculously priced lotions and upgrade to the most expensive tanning packages. I felt harassed to buy things each time I walked through the door. Also, I bought a package of 2 mystic tans for close to $80. I got my first tan, but forgot about the second one due to the hustle and bustle of the holidays, so I called one day after my package expired and they said there was nothing they could do.
