Worst customer service ever! I have been a loyal, PAYING customer for several years. The place is clean, the fee is fair and the equipment is good. The employees are horrible and make you feel like your inconveniencing them by visiting. It's been an issue for awhile but has only gotten worse. Their comments and tone are not only unwelcoming but they are offensive. Going to tan or spray tan should not be a stressful event but due to the lack of professionalism and customer service, it certainly is. Asking a question or wanting to make a change or maybe even showing up is met with attitude and rudeness. Peyton is the worst but there are several rude employees. This situation got so bad that I cancelled and changed to a salon that farther from my home, has inferior equipment and isn't as clean. That's how uncomfortable the staff made me feel. So they bought out LA Tan, which is where I used to go. I went to the location on Stringtown Rd. twice. I told them to cancel my membership. THEY WERE RUDE, SNOBBY, AND SO PUSHY! They talk about customers in front of other customers! They are so condescending. Some of the other customers were snobby too. I then found Tan Pro. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT PLACE AND THE EMPLOYEES! (Hoover Rd.) This has been my tanning place for a few years now. I received an email a couple of days ago saying that Palm Beach Tan bought Tan Pro. Honestly, it made me sick to my stomach because I HATE Palm Beach. Their email said, "nothing will change." BULLSHIT. I bought a sample of lotion, which is normally $8.00 for my package, it was $13.99. The couple in front of me just wanted to buy a package for a month because they were going out of the country for the month of September. The new Palm Beach person there said they couldn't do that. They had to pay for August and September. TAN PRO WOULD NEVER DO THAT! THE PALM BEACH EMPLOYEE WAS RUDE AND DIDN'T CARE THAT PEOPLE WERE PISSED ABOUT THE WAY THINGS WERE NOW BEING HANDLED. She was condescending to the Tan Pro employee when showing her something on the new system. ALSO, THE PALM BEACH EMPLOYEE SAID IT WAS A LAW/RULE THAT YOU CAN'T TAN TWICE IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. THAT IS A LIE BECAUSE MY SISTER USED TO WORK AT A TANNING PLACE. IT IS RECOMMENDED, NOT MANDATORY! So I have to leave tomorrow BEFORE 6:30PM to go out of town to take care of my Mom. (I last tanned at 6:30PM this evening.) I'm going to be out of town all weekend taking care of my mom and watching my niece and nephew and I wanted to tan tomorrow BEFORE I have to leave. I was told that I can't do that. Who are you to tell me when I can and can't tan? Let me guess, you voted for Biden. It would explain your need to control when I can and can't tan. I was talking to the nice Tan Pro employee before I got in my bed and the Palm Beach person up front started my bed BEFORE I even had all my lotion on! Who do you people think you are?! A Tan Pro employee would NEVER do that! Email also said that we'd see the same friendly faces. One person has already quit, so I'm sure more will and I will NOT go there anymore without the same nice girls working. Saying I'm pissed is an under statement. To the Tan Pro owner, I say, "you're a sell out and screw you." Anyone who would give their dedicated and hard working employees a 4 HOUR NOTICE THAT YOU SOLD IS A POS! And to the owner of Palm Beach, you will lose customers. As soon as I buy my own tanning bed I will cancel my membership. Came in today and there was a blonde girl upfront not wearing a nametag (pink shirt) had just absolutely the shittiest attitude there can be . I was never told the rules based on kids being allowed or not allowed in(I brought my kid in because I didn't honestly think it was an issue) I was then told by her "well they are right there on the wall" (the rules) for one this was my 2nd time ever being there so how the hell would I know where rules are posted ? As I go back in to cancel my membership she then proceeds to keep talking to me when I am not even being helped by her and I'm being helped by another lady she decides to but in and goes "well you are still going to be charge next month anyways" like sorry you are in a shitty mood but don't come at any person like that! Equipment is top notch. Attitude of certain staff is beyond unacceptable. Not only have I witnessed 2 people who were training new employees treat them with total lack of respect and lack of professionalism, they treat the customers the same. I've bit my tongue so many times as they say derogatory and demeaning remarks after each customer leaves or goes into their room, and they do the same about each other! Eye rolls, the silent finger once they walk away, talking about people's personal life, credit cards being declined, body odor, looks, weight, their clothes and the "I hate that bitch" comment for no apparent reason. The lady named Dakota is the worst. She was saying the rudest and degrading things about customers who came and went while I've been waiting or coming out of the restroom. She was training an eager and totally polite and helpful new associate. The new girl gave excellent info on the spray tan options and was just a joy to be around. Dakota was like a ray of pitch black in her sunny attitude. I wondered why the turnover was so high here. Several of the girls were a delight to deal deal with in the past but they were gone just about every week. My body language last time must have caught Dakota's attention because she asked me to wait outside in 32 degree weather when there was no one else waiting or checking-in the lobby despite the sign on the door that says no more than TWO people allowed in lobby. She knew I had seen and heard the way she had spoken about people and wasn't liking it so she tried to keep me from witnessing any further incidents. Not sure how long Dakota has been there...I've only noticed her there 3x but all 3 times it was obvious she shouldn't be working with people. Unless maybe those people are inmates....the ones in solitary confinement that cannot be broken or changed. In fact I don't think she knows the difference between customers and inmates. If you've been a customer, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If the tanning equipment wasn't so good and it was so close to my work, I would have dropped my membership after my first experience there. My suggestion, if you go, call ahead and find out if Dakota is working! I hope the owners rethink their hiring . I know it is extremely hard to find quality people these days, now more than ever with COVID but an employee like her can cost you your whole reputation. And If you saw Dakota clean the beds, you would never go back. I bring my own body microbial wipes to use afterwards and use their disinfectant spray to re-clean the bed myself before I use the beds. I have been tanning at Palm Beach Tan for years at different locations throughout the Columbus area. I have never had an issue until today. I called the Grove City location to ask about my tanning package because the monthly charge came out of my bank account and seemed a little higher than it should have. I told the girl why I was calling and she tried to explain the difference as a "tanning and luxury tax" which I know do exist. But I was charged $19 more than what my package cost was. Anyways, we started talking about what the extra cost was from and I tried to ask a question and she would start talking over me and then puts the phone aside and say "She won't stop fucking interrupting me" to her coworker... I calmly continued talking with her to figure out what the extra charge was from and I asked her for her name and she refused to give it to me (which is fine). But then I told her at the end of the call that I heard what she said and it is extremely inappropriate to treat customers like that. I am still in shock that this happened and I very upset and am considering cancelling my membership because of how unprofessional and rude she was. I will be doing my best to get in touch with the manager of that location to talk through what happened and get this issue resolved. read more

Went in the other day to try out their beds...I've never been to a palm beach tan, and recently moved to the area. I saw online they were offering a deal for new clients. I was told when I got there that I couldn't use this deal because I've been there before, I asked when it showed I was in, they said June 2015....turns out I was 8 months pregnant at that time...certainly wasn't tanning. This was all brought to my attention after the receptionist tried selling me a package that I wasn't interested in. I currently have a membership at LA tan, buying another membership wasn't what I was looking for quite yet. She then proceeded to tell me i would have to pay $40 to tan one time!!! WOAH! Over the last year this particular location in Grove City has significantly gone down. I was really happy with the service I received until there was a massive turnover in the staff. I used to be known by name, a bed was readily available and they knew what I wanted. Now, because of the new staff and all the training, there is a lot of chaos, disorgsnization, confusion and it's taking a lot longer to get in and out. One of the new girls, Bailey is particularly frustrating with her poor timing in up selling products and services. She seems programmed and robotic, she is pushy and doesn't recognize when a customer isn't interested in what she is selling. She is very friendly and nice, but sales is not her calling. I've decided to cancel my membership at this location for now, but might return after they have gotten back up to speed. read more

They took their time to explain EVERYTHING!!! They are all very friendly and very much willing to help you. This will be a long review but I think it's necessary to post it. This place has become terrible. Back in May, I went to cancel my membership because the customer service was so terrible. The girl at the front desk talked me into freezing the membership, claiming that there were going to be changes in staffing. She told me that if I wanted to unfreeze I would only have to pay the remaining balance of my monthly membership (around $33). Went in yesterday and talked to an employee who claimed to be the manager. I told her I wanted to unfreeze my account back to a gold level membership. She told me there was a $20 fee to unfreeze the account and I'd have to pay an additional $40 for my membership. She then told me they were running a special for the Gold membership that it was only $39.99 and a $30 upgrade fee. She said it was a good deal for me and I should upgrade because it would only be $30 to upgrade...but I'm already in a gold membership. She was going to charge me to upgrade to a membership I'm already in. Finally, she asked to check my lotion over. She told me it was too warm to use and looked like it was a "cheap, foreign, off-brand". So I agreed to try a sample packet. I asked for something inexpensive, and she told me the sample packet of Tekton is the cheapest she can offer me at $20... for a sample packet. She then tried to sell me multiple bottles of lotion for over $100 each after declining them all multiple times. I finally told her to just give me the final price of everything (upgrade, unfreezing, and sample) we discussed and she said it would be $54. When I handed her my card she said "Okay, the total for everything comes out to $120." I took my card back and got upset. She then charged me the $54 just to unfreeze my account. This place is terrible. They try too hard to sell you lotions and upgrades. I hear something different every single time. The fact that their "manager" was going to charge me $120 after telling me it would only be $50 is ridiculous. Don't spend your money here. Be prepared for ridiculous waits and the worst sale tactics ever. read more

Total flakes working here. I had a problem with my account and called in to fix it, the problem by the way was on their end. Had to talk to 2 people to try and get the issue resolved. By the time the problem was resolved, I had been lied on by the first Twit. She told the 'manager ' Lauren that I had verbally abused her, then Lauren accused me of screaming at her, I'm with work colleagues and was in my suv driving to a work meeting when I thought I would take 2 minutes to do what I believed to be a 'quick' fix. ( So, yes, I have several witnesses that heard the conversations) I didn't appreciate being lied on and I certainly don't appreciate being told I was screaming when I wasn't. I've been a long time customer with Palm Beach Tan and it's really upsetting to be treated like this. They really need to focus on customer service. read more

Compared to the other location I've been to, this one is much more relaxed. The sales crew don't hound you to buy a package every 5 minutes. Also I love the upbeat music playing in the beds! Be prepared to tan around there schedule not yours. Unlimited tanning is restricted to every 23 hours which means if need to tan later one day, you can't tan the next the next morning. They claim this is due to the FDA. Check in takes forever and the beds are never clean bc they are too busy trying to tout lotion! I am 45 and have tanned for most of my life. I know my skin better than an 18 yo employee. Worry more about customer service than lotions!! The sales = used car lot. Today a list of forbidden lotions. Wasn't there yesterday?? No warning just can't use the new bottle of lotion you have?? Ridiculous! Be prepared to wait 15 minutes when they are pressuring someone into a package when you could have been quickly checked in as a member and then go back to the new customer??? This just now cut into my 23 hour tanning window for the next day. read more

Palm Beach Tan is really rip off!!! They talk you in to getting a great package and let you know very nicely that you can upgrade and downgrade with no problems...LMBO!! They forget to tell you that if and when you downgrade that you LOSE EVERYTHING from the time "downgrade" comes out of your mouth. I paid big bucks to start and thought as soon as I get a good base tan I will downgrade because I can't spend $50 a month on tanning. I am not happy! A few months ago I called to set up my new card information because I had lost my old one and needed a new one. I spoke to an employee and told her my situation and she said it was fine she could update my information and I'd be good to go. I went in to get all of this information set up and saved so I could continue to get my charter price because it's cheapest price you can get for a diamond package and I got locked in under that price and didn't want to lose it. So a little while goes by and I don't pay much attention to my bank account because I don't have much need to. I haven't been tanning in a while. Last time I really tanned, I guess I was living in a smaller town-one with a pretty upscale salon; especially for the town. I've recently moved back to grove city. It's winter, and I keep saying tanning would make me feel better. After a long day at work, I stopped in to buy one session. I've never been so irritated or have had to go through so much bullshit to just make it clear I didn't want a monthly that package, I didn't want to pay a start up fee. I JUST wanted a single tanning session. I visit my old town weekly. I would rather be inconvenienced, tan an hour away, and only once a week rather than visit this salon again. I'm a paying customer but I guess because I don't want to stand in the hot sun because I was told by the owner, "You can wait in your car!"; well don't you think I'm smart enough to have thought of that already?! I will never recommend this company ever again. My son cancelled his membership because he was headed to basic training in Georgia for the army. They told him his account was closed but they continued to debit his account the entire time he was gone that amounted to hundreds of dollars. He had no way of knowing. So when I knew I was moving out of state I went in and asked that my membership be cancelled. Knowing what happened to my son, and explaining this, I was assured my account was CLOSED.....well, no it wasn't. I just opened my CC statements for the last 3 months only to find they are still charging my account and have been since I closed it 3 months ago. I feel this is a sneaking underhanded tactic because people don't always look that closely at the charges on their cards. They just pay the minimum and they charge your account for months before you realize you are paying for it. It's fraud and should be looked into by their company. The worst tanning place ever! The staff acts like car salesmen and tries to get you to buy the most expensive lotion they have and acts like $100 is a cheap price for LOTION!!! I went there for my first spray tan just after having showered and I was told to go home and reshower because I had used a moisturizer. Apparently the moisturizer can block the spray tan but I was told this in a very rude way and not in a nice helpful tone. I had an event the next day and I didn't have time to go home and shower and come back as it was already 9pm. I went ahead and still did the spray tan as I got lots of attitude from the girl and turned out it looked amazing and lasted almost two weeks! I don't think it's good business for someone to ask you to leave and not get a service. I spoke with the manager the next night and she apologized and supposedly put some free spray tans on my account to make it right but wouldn't you know mysteriously they never appeared and no one knows what happened!! I used to tan here but had recently moved & decided to tan at a place closer to home. I never realized how SPOILED I was coming to Palm Beach. Going to this other tanning salon the staff sat on the couches & played on their phones & were not very friendly at all. The staff at Palm Beach are professional & very friendly & always greet you with a welcoming smile! Although I do agree they can be kind of pushy when selling retail, the products are great but if you tell them no they don't press. Hello. I have been coming to this location for about four years now. Well the other day (2/15/17) it took me over 15 minutes to get into a bed with only one person in front of me checking in while I noticed there were two other staff members getting tans and finishing up their tans and talking on the phone when the phone rang. No one asked me if I wanted to tan or approached me even though I was sitting there for 15 minutes. This was 10:15 in the morning. I have a platinum level membership. I think this is pretty poor customer service. I'm sorry I don't have 15 minutes to wait to get a tan at this time of the morning. I will not be continuing my membership here. Get ready for the hard sell. I stopped into this location to get information on a spray tan. She tried to sell me on a package of 3 for $60 dollars, and told me that one alone was $50, when it was advertised on their website as $25. I had to show them their website on my phone, and they had to take my ID and create a profile in order to offer that price. Then she told me that a spray tan would run and streak even after two days unless I also bought a sixty dollar bottle of primer. I've been going there for a little bit now. At first it was great.Now whatever time I go in to tan It's always takes like 2 hours. It's ridiculous on the wait. Then you have employees that come right in and get in and tan. I'm like really. I've sit there over an hour just to get into a tanning bed every time now. But you do have some really great workers there. I don't know if you all are just short staffed but people aren't liking it. While I was waiting a customer was like I'm not waiting anymore.
