Unfortunately, service seems to have really gone downhill. My most recent nail tech showed up 25 minutes late to my appointment then cut up 4 of my cuticles to the point of bleeding. A lash lift I received was overproceseed and left my lashes curling into my eye lids. A massage I received was about as much pressure as a 2 year old would give. Very cute studio with super nice staff, however I was disappointed that my gel X manicure did not last long at all. Two days after I got my manicure, my left pinky nail popped off. I went back and they repaired it for free since it was within seven days from my original appointment. That being said, more of my nails started to pop off the following week and I couldn't get them repaired since at that point I was outside of the seven day window. My entire manicure ended up lasting less than two weeks. I got a gel pedicure that day as well and within 8 days of the original appointment the polish peeled off of my left middle toe. I also got a spray tan that day that only lasted about 9 days. I really love the service and vibe there, but with how much I paid overall ($200 plus tips), I would have hoped for better. read more

I've been to all three- hair, skin and nails and I always have an amazing experience at all of them. This review will be specifically about nails because I just came in for a nail appointment yesterday. I saw Sisi for extensions with level 2 nail art. I got gel x tips with a black and nude ombré, chrome and little star designs. She was incredible! So gentle with my natural nails and clearly knowledgeable about how to keep nails healthy with these services. And my nails are absolutely stunning. I'll be going back to her for my next set. I have been coming to Lacquer gallery nails for a little over 1.5 years now and I'm definitely obsessed. I typically get my nails done every 4 weeks with Anna. She has helped me greatly improve the overall health of my nails! I previously had brittle and severely damaged nails from prior salon experiences and now I can wear my natural nails relatively long without breakage! Her work is absolutely flawless and she is very quick. Coming to lacquer gallery is always a treat!! The salon is incredibly clean and staff is always super kind and inviting! I will say lacquer gallery is on the pricey side, but is 100% worth it for the level of work and you can count on a clean and safe environment! read more

Nails were so cute when I got them done! The technician was super friendly and did exactly what I wanted. However, my gel x starting falling off in less than a week and all of them were off within two weeks which is disappointing for the price paid. The studio was beautiful and welcoming. read more

This was my first pedicure at Lacquer Gallery. I am a senior, whereas most clients are 20s-50s, plus I use a walker. Everyone was helpful getting me in the shop and into the pedicure chair and back out safely. They were helpful and attentive. My feet felt fantastic at the end of the hour for the Signature Pedicure. Avion was my nail professional. The only downside to this clean, pleasant place is not being ADA compliant, but their gracious help made it work. read more

Update: Here is the response for the salon. I do not accept the response from this business. They have taken no accountability for any of their wrong doing. I was very kind with Georgia, and told her the color was nice, but not at all what I had originally asked for. It very interesting that the salon manager knows how many times i called and yet, could not return a single email or simple text to advise you were working on the situation. 1- For the mgr to take 24 hours to respond to a customer complaint, that was time sensitive, is unheard of. Atleast provide acknowledgement of the problem, and that you would actually get back to me shortly (shortly does not mean 24 hours) 2- Georgia offered ONE solution, for me to come back on her next opening, 4/15, which was 12 days later; which I relayed I was out of town for. The receptionist continually asked me if this was the day that worked for me, without acknowledging i had said I was out of town, multiple times. He gave me ZERO other alternatives, which led me to believe there was no sense of urgency, or respect of my time. My behavior was extremely polite and respectful to both Georgia and the receptionist (even though his ignorance was very unbecoming). I finally became irritated as noone was offering a single solution, and not taking acknowledgement of her miscolor and misjudgment along with not listening to my wishes on my schedule or timing. 3 -I stated to Georgia MULTIPLE times, my hair did not need a toner, and yet with her being uneducated on blondes, led her to picking a much darker toner color, and applying when I had requested this was not necessary, that my color lifted well on its own. 4- This comment, as are most of them, is completely false, and was never mentioned to me: "The client was also confused about the additional Salon Scale cost which Georgia for sure reminded her of during the service" 5- The actual color that was applied was terrible. i showed it to many colorists, who said there was so much bleeding it created blobs of color everywhere. (also, the mgr has not acknowledged this once) 6 - Time- This has been a comical part of the story as well! For my initial request of a "mini partial", and for that one service to take 5.5 hours, is very telling of the professionalism and efficiency of Georgia. No service should take this amount of time, esp one that should have taken 1.5 - 2 hours max. All in all, I find it very telling in the salons responses that they did not hold any wrongdoing or accountability for their lack of education in coloring, toning, cuts, scheduling, customer service, etc. The list goes on. Booked an appointment here because I've heard great things about them but was really disappointed. The tech was great, she did an awesome job and was so kind! But - my appointment was for 2:15 for a simple Gel Mani one color. At 2:04 they texted me that my appointment was being pushed back until 2:30. At this point, I already parked and was about to go in. So I waited until 2:30. I still sat and waited until 3pm to be seen. That is 45 mins AFTER my original appointment. I understand things can happen but with it being my first time, I don't plan on going back. I wasn't offered a discount or anything for the inconvenience. Though I didn't ask, I shouldn't have to. I'm disappointed because like I said - she did a great job. But I didn't leave there until 4. If they were that far behind, they should have reached out to me much sooner than 11 minutes. It's a fun environment and the technicians are nice. However, three days after my pedicure, 3 full toes of polish flaked off completely. When I asked to come in to have it repaired, it was $5 a toe. It didn't seem worthwhile to pay $15 more on top of an already expensive pedicure ($60 before tip and tax). I've never had that happen with pedicures before- they usually last several weeks. Were do I even start with lacquer? I started coming here to get my nails done at the beginning of this year. I have been nothing but impressed with them every time I come. Tara does an amazing job on nails, have nothing but good things to say about her. Their other services are great as well. I go to skin every now and then to get a facial & derma-plane. It's super relaxing and they always do a great job. I did get my hair done once in the salon and it was a good experience. Haven't been to the tattoo part of them yet but I've heard nothing but good things about them as well. Clean and safe location and it was busy on a weekday afternoon--I recommend scheduling in advance! Also don't make the same mistake as me and walk into the hair salon on the corner and not the nail salon one door in from the corner :) They were also accommodating to let me sit next to a friend who was getting a service at the same time. I feel so comfortable every time I come here! Most recently, I had a gel removal and gel manicure with Liz L., who I try to schedule my appointments with most of the time. As always, she did an AMAZING job with the whole process. She was ready for me as soon as I walked in, she took care of my nails, and took into consideration the current state of them to figure out how to best cut and shape them. She takes her time and makes sure my nails look good from all angles, not just from hers as she is working on them. Okay! This is like my third review for Lacquer Gallery and I promise I'm not being paid for these lol! Truth be told, I almost didn't want to write this review because I wanted to keep this secret to myself but that would be doing a disservice to the amazing nail ARTIST, Tara! I've been following quite a few nail artists at the salon and somehow got in with Tara McClure- who I would expect to be booked out. Nope! I got lucky. Originally I'd wanted something dark and goth like I normally do but Tara's skill are so top notch, I wanted to expand my horizons. I decided to go with one of my favorite artists, Keith Haring, on whim in the taxi ride home from the airport. I sent Tara some images for inspo (none of which she used and I'm super happy about) just to get her juices flowing. Can I just say she surpassed even what I wanted. Like she took what i was thinking and made it ten times better. Not only did she do incredible Keith Haring art on my nails but she found some art that I was not expecting. And I also noticed that she arted each finger on one hand with something similar on the corresponding finger of the other hand. I cannot stop looking at my nails. I'm already mourning the day that they'll be gone, and everyone has been complimenting them nonstop. I've already booked my next appt with her. read more

If I could rate 0, I would. I'm usually a gel X extension fan. But I was recommended the builder gel mani, which was supposed to protect my nails. I did not like the first builder gel set I received in April: the gel product was too thick, the shapes of the nails came out weird, it didn't add the length that I was hoping for, & the nail art chipped less than three days after service (side note: I did return for an art redo for that service under the 7 day satisfaction policy), but I dealt with the builder gel until my nails grew out and could be removed. I did not go back in May, as my nails were growing nicely & I could maintain them at home without paying salon prices. I booked an appointment for my birthday, June 27, for going back to the gel X extension set, since I wasn't a fan of how the builder gel worked from the April visit & in the time between. Instead, this service was moved to a builder gel mani, per the decision of the nail technician, on the day-of "to help protect my nails". Unfortunately, for this day's service, my nails aren't protected. I have multiple nails that are exposed, sharp & rough under the thick coat of misshapen and wacky lengths of builder gel. When I first came in for this appointment, I expressed my desire to keep my natural nails as long & pretty & as protected as possible but that my thumb nails would need a little extra love since they had chipped, the original builder gel peeled off of them first from the April appointment. Instead my nails were filed down so short that I have no natural nails left on my right hand. I worked so hard (self improvement, as I kicked the nasty habit of biting my nails with multiple visits to Lacquer Gallery) & have spent so much money (with 5 appointments at Lacquer Gallery over the past 6 months) to grow out my natural nails & keep them long. Now I have NO natural nail length left. My right hand is so short that my nail beds hurt & my hand is constantly shaking as a reaction to the super short length after months of longer nails. Another sad thing too is that my nails aren't the same shape or length across one hand, let alone consistent with my other hand, nor the same shape or length when both hands are compared together. My cuticles were cut in so deeply that I have an infection & I need antibiotics. At the end of the appointment, the nail technician didn't ask for feedback, I received no lotion, no cuticle oil, and the nail art wasn't finished, and some spots were already peeling, but the nail technician was running 20 min late for her next client, so I couldn't get it fixed immediately. I brought up to the nail technician during the appointment that there was color missing from parts of my nails, & then on closer examination after leaving the salon, I have builder gel missing from spots on my nails. I sincerely didn't notice how short they were until I left & tried to run my fingers through my hair & realize I have no nail length left. I called shortly after my appointment to express the displeasure with the length & shape & type of service, since it wasn't what I signed up for or wanted. The salon manager was away & unreachable but now has sent an email back that if I want a repair, I have to pay & schedule another service & they'll give me a discount for that new service... a discount?!?! I just spent $120 & have no nails left on my right hand & funky shaped nails... like who thinks button nubbins are a "cute" nail length?! & now I have to pay MORE to even have the bad builder gel mani removed?!?! I'm absolutely wrecked at the service I received & can't afford to pay more for a service that has already annihilated my natural nails. I am astounded at how bad of customer service I have received at trying to get a remedy for this grievance. My hands literally hurt from this service & the salon's response is pay more money to maybe get it fixed after putting the blame on me for the level of service that I received. read more

Never really thought gel was for me but got my first from Jamie and she killed it, she explained everything she was doing the whole time which definitely made me feel like I chose the right service and was really educational. A good nail tech is hard to come by. I have searched this city, and all of the Columbus nail hashtags more times than I can count. Dedication and communication throughout the whole appointment is the most important thing to me. I come to nail techs with a lot of specific ideas, and I want someone who is willing to learn and be creative to make my vision happen, and that sometimes takes trial and error. Flynn at Lacquer is just that type of nail tech. Coupled with the cute vibes and professionalism of the appointment, it's worth the price, and it's actually far less than other options willing to do the same type of art that I want. I would definitely go back and see her again for acrylics-- especially with encapsulation. That's my favorite and it's her specialty. I respect this salon a lot. The nail and hair salons are two separate rooms, and I can't speak to the hair portion but it seems like the nail salon operates like a well-oiled machine. My only issues would be that it does feel super busy (for a reason), and they don't have massage chairs, so I'll go elsewhere for my pedis.
