Gone 5 months now and I'm very happy that I left. I was a PBT customer for almost 15 years when I left because of the horrendous Customer Service and the grossly overpriced services and add-on charges. PBT also has no interest in providing any Customer Service. Please see my previous review for specifics. The new Manager "Ya Ya" is very rude, dismissive and condescending. And by the way, I was finally able to talk to the director of operations (Lacey), who ultimately offered me a couple of "red light therapy sessions", and a lot of excuses for her staff's behavior. I couldn't be happier at my new Tanning Salon "Rockstar Tan". There prices are MUCH LESS THAN PALM BEACH; no ridiculous add-on fees and most memberships are all-inclusive. You NEVER need to wait for a bed or a spray booth at Rockstar Tan. They have shorter times and stronger bulbs in their beds, and they just got a brand new Mystic spray. They have a ton of beds. They also do custom air brush spray tans. The best thing is that the entire staff are wonderful. They have a great attitude. They're extremely helpful and very friendly. read more

This place is a scam!!! They will over charge you!!!! I tried canceling my membership twice, and they still charged me for an additional month. They claimed there was no documentation showing I requested cancellation, but the only way to cancel is in person. I went in to cancel and was told I would receive an email confirmation, which I never got. I asked a second time and still never received anything. Then I was charged again for another month. On top of that, the manager was extremely rude and completely dismissive when I explained that I had already tried canceling. She genuinely did not seem to care at all. read more

Unfortunately, my daughter and I had a very frustrating experience with membership cancellation at this location. My daughter had the premium membership and I was listed as her guest. We went into the salon before the cancellation deadline and specifically requested to cancel the membership. The employee helping us appeared to cancel MY profile instead of my daughter's account, which we later discovered when I was told my profile had to be "reactivated." At the time, we also asked for proof of cancellation and were told we would receive a call and email confirmation, but neither ever happened. When my profile was reactivated, I again asked staff about my daughter's membership and was told that "we should be good" and that the girl that cancelled my profile was a borrowed employee because they are short staffed. Despite this, we are now being told another monthly charge is due because the cancellation was supposedly never completed correctly. What made the situation even more disappointing was the way it was handled by Ya Ya. Instead of trying to understand the confusion or help resolve the issue, she was dismissive and told me that I had "signed a contract." I understand there are policies in place, but customers should not be held responsible for staff mistakes and miscommunication -- especially after making multiple good-faith attempts to cancel and confirm the account status before the deadline. I've been going to tanning salons since I was a child sitting in the waiting rooms while my mom tanned and started tanning myself in high school and have been going to all the palm beach tans since I moved out here ten years ago. I will say it's very nice to have a manager like Lindsey that has been employed with Palm Beach for as many years as I've been tanning there. Having someone who's been around and knows the little tricks on how to be efficient tanning, for who doesn't panic when something goes wrong and can easily find ways to fix things to make it work while you're there is super great. It makes it feel like the mom and Pop tanning salons from home that have the same consistent workers. She's definitely one of the better workers you've had in any of your salons and I've been to them all and experience hundreds of Salon workers over the years. With constant turn over, young workers, there's lots of panic and sometimes I have to show them how to fix the beds... just wanted to pop on here and mention that having strong, consistent workers is really beneficial for the experience of your employees. read more

I've been a customer of Palm Beach Tan for a little over a year. On my most recent visit to the Mission Viejo location, I was told my monthly service includes only one of the spray tan machines. If I wanted to use the other one, there would be an additional charge. I have used several different locations over the past year, including the Mission Viejo location. I've never been told this before. When I tried to explain that to Alyssa, the front desk girl, there was no explanation or proof of what my $70 monthly service dues include. She was very rude and indifferent. I will be cancelling my services. There are many options out there. read more

I was greeted immediately entering the salon and also received a salon tour while being educated on the different options available. I owe this 5 star visit to an employee name Yoarely. She ensured my full experience was exceptional from her warm greeting, salon tour, thorough spray tanning instructions, and even made a point to make sure I knew the after care instructions before leaving. I will be an ongoing customer because of the service I received. Follow up review to give a shout out to employee Lindsay. She answered all questions regarding around the developing process and she made great product recommendations and explained everything in such great detail. Really bummed about my experience at this location. I came in for a spray tan and was told the instructions were displayed on a screen in the room. The machine must have been working incorrectly because there were zero instructions. I told the employee after and she responded with 'oh I just thought you knew what to do.' After I expressed concern that I spent $65 on a spray tan that I don't think I accurately got, she said I'd be fine and apologized for the machine not working. Here I am the following day with zero color before a trip and wasted $65. read more

I go to a few of the Palm Beach tan locations and really enjoy this one. The staff is friendly, fast, and knowledgeable, it's always clean, and always opens on time. I see Hailey the most and she's a gem! I worked at a tanning salon decades ago and know it's harder than it looks, especially when busy. I am impressed by how fast they keep customers moving and have never had to wait long. I have also overheard challenging customers and the service is great, which must be through good training by the owner. As an employer, I also know how hard it is to keep good staff (especially these days!) so please keep whatever you are doing to hire and keep great staff! read more

WHAT A RACQUET! I froze my membership last June and only did so because I was told it would avoid my having to pay a new membership fee WRONG! I went in today and was told it would be $70+ to restart and that I had $90 credit on my account that CANNOT be used towards my restart but only towards purchasing product. I asked the "manager" what the best product was and she showed me a purple bottle and a pink bottle and let me smell them both. I liked the fragrance of the purple bottled one so asked how much it was and she told me $195, i about came out of my shoes! BUYERS BEWARE! This salon has done a great job working with Yelp to get reviews taken down. This location is riddled with cock roaches. The prices are also way higher than others. $45 for 1 spray tan and sooo much more to make it "bronze" and add features that I bought my membership for. One spray tan costed my $75!!! What? The salons also close earlier than any other tanning salon in California. I get off work at 6 and so I no longer have time to tan here. I canceled my membership bc of the roaches but will never go to another location due to poor cleanliness, lack of respect towards employees, their 24 hour tanning rule and the fact that they close so early. This location has has a broken spray booth for over a month and every time I go, it is at least a 35+ minute wait for the ONE booth they have. This has to be rectified. Your rent for this huge space can't be cheap and the broken booth is a waste of space. Your customers are pissed. Fixed this issue. read more

Went here for a few months at the end of summer/early fall to really "lock in" my tan before winter hit and I would no longer be able to lay out. Great facility, nice-enough staff (really hit or miss, depends on who you get) felt clean and safe even with COVID and the pricing is totally fair.
