The girls that work here are sooo freaking nice! I think that's a huge part of my returned membership here. I signed up for a Mystic Spray tan membership but I couldn't get dark enough. I was annoyed that you have to pay for extra additives to get darker. I wanted to cancel but the girls suggested I try Versa tan instead. I got SO DARK I was super happy. Spray tans are annoying and there's lots of upkeep but it's better than doing self Tan at home. I ended up canceling my membership because I figured I'd just use the sunless tan lotion I have to save money. But once my Versa tan wore off, I was shook. I needed my dark bronze back. The manager reinstated my monthly membership without having to pay a fee. I was very happy about that. The girls here made me aware of the upkeep and care involved with getting Versa tans but the result is SO worth it! And seriously I can't believe how welcome and nice they all are, especially Nicole. When my go-to tanning place closed, I decided to give PBT a try. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and the equipment is all new and well-maintained. Here's the problem: The hard sell. Every single visit. From the get-go, they explain that they basically only sell monthly memberships. So if you don't tan very often like me, it's probably not going to be worth the monthly fee. But, even if you do sign up, on EVERY SINGLE VISIT they're ALWAYS trying to sell you something- lotions, package upgrade, bed upgrades, spray tan, etc. under the guise of these things being on sale "this week only". It's exhausting. You have to say "no thank you" at least three times before they just set you up the tanning bed you asked for. I'll be looking for somewhere a little less obnoxious. read more

A virgin to tanning, I came here. I'm really not interested in the tanning beds--- not a big fan of feeling like I'm being cooked alive. So I opted for the Versa spa, which is a fancier= more expensive Mystic tan. Which was cool, since I could also mystic tan as well with the membership. Essentially, spray tanning. Service was nice from the girl who took me on a tour of the place and took the time to explain the differences between the beds. She even took the time to ask another staff member for a second opinion on what "level" of color I should go for. The level indicates how deep the tan would run. Anyway, it consisted of a bunch of Egyptian poses in order to get the machine to spray you well from head to toe. My major problem with tanning is that my legs NEVER darken. After having gone only 2-3 times in one month, I did notice a major difference. 3 months later, my arms definitely are warmer. My legs still nearly white. I didn't continue my membership after the month since it's just too hard for me to go regularly. I'm a nurse and I work 3-11 which makes it rough to find a spot. I don't like the smell the spray gives you afterwards. My boyfriend says "wet dog". O_O;; On a return trip, when I mentioned the concern, they said, "oh yeah. You can add a scent to it." Greeaaaat. Thanks for the late update. So I recommend wearing clothes out that you don't mind having a weird smell. There was no way I could do errands or go to work after a session. theres a moisturizer to apply that's supposed to blend the tanning spray into your hands and feet; my knuckles looked blackened and the bottom of my feet were temporarily ORANGE for a good week. The sides of my heels with a very apparent separation line of where the dye got me. My BIGGEST complaint: VersaSpa/Mystic tanning is COLD!!! You tan to look like you've been in the sun, but then you stand in a cold room and get sprayed with cold tanning solution. You leave freezing, but look tanned. Hrmmm..... Again, I haven't done the beds. 3 stars not for the result of my tanning, but really for the lack of "heads ups" I should have gotten. I leave cold, wet, damp, and stinky from tanning. Not so fun or inviting to come back. Even with the scent added to the spray, I still felt like a soaked, cold pup. I still have a watch tan, which means its lasted. Although I dont think I could go back for a touch up. I just didnt think I'd feel worse for going to tan. =( My bf wouldn't even come near me because of the smell. EVEN AFTER A SHOWER. First time tanning here since Ultimate Exposure Shut down . First of all the salon was very clean and well kept the staff member that assisted me was amazing ! Paulina N. ! She knew all of her stuff regarding the beds and what would help me not to burn . She was very poliet and efficient especially when I expressed the fact I was in a rush. She didn't skip on any details of showing me around and how to use things but she also helped me get in and out ! Outstanding service and the fact that your salon provides robes and eye wear ! I have visited this salon about 20 times in last year, I always use the same bed. After visiting other locations, I give this location 2 stars. I use a level four bed, the first one, room one. Many of the functions either do not work, or do not work properly. We naturally accept this and just the use bed right? It's not like we can go home and use our own tanning bed! After seeing how the bed functions when it works at other locations, I do not plan on going to this location, even though it's my neighborhood location. The service can also be ehhhh, especially one rep that works the evening shift in weekdays. She is not kind and often acts like you're bothering her. She also gave me a really hard time over a PIN number that I did not even remember setting up when I return after a summer hiatus, and she literally tried to turn me away. I also had another issue with this bed where the face tan didn't work eight out of ten minutes of the tan, and when I told the reps, they just said "oh really? Sorry about that"... The cost per tan is high, the beds should work. And if there is an issue, we should receive another tan. read more

I frequent this Palm Beach Tan location often mostly because the quality of the beds. The employees here (manager Nicole and Kristen specifically) are always friendly and are knowledgable about beds and the tanning products. The beds are in top notch condition (bulbs are always working and the surfaces are cleaned incredibly well). The beds here work like new. My favorite beds are the level 3's. I have also done both Mystic and Versa sunless tanning here and these beds produce great results as well. Yes, the employees here will suggest different types of lotions for you to purchase (based off what kind of results you are looking for). Yes, they are expensive, but that is the price you pay for quality products.I notice that some people have commented negatively on the "pushy sales" of employees. Listen, it's their job. I wouldn't want someone to knock on me and what I am paid to do. I am okay with the sales pitches because it exposes me the different types of lotions that are available. I am clueless when it comes to bronzers and tingles. I appreciate their input because it helps me make more informed decisions. I have tanned at LA Tan and the tanning salon provided by my gym. Palm Beach Tan greatly surpassed my experiences at both of these locations. The beds are the best in the industry and the staff here at the Norridge location maintains them extremely well. Palm Beach Tan locations are the best offered in Chicago hands down. This location just happens to be my favorite because of closeness to my house and the friendliness of the staff. read more

Completely floored by the horrible experience I had dealing with the manager here. This person gave me false information and then tried to deny doing it when I questioned her about it. Then tries to tell me that the other employee gave me a "courtesy tan" when she wasn't supposed to. What? Nothing was ever said to me about any "courtesy tan". Ok so I walked in last week and because I had frozen my membership for the last few months and had an in store credit for a free tan and trial size lotion. I was cancelling my membership afterwards since I am moving from Chicago. A new girl of course was training and entered it in incorrectly. So then proceeds to tell me I owe $4.00. The trainer of course backs her up and said she made a mistake so I was simply out of luck. Is this pathetic place for real? So it is my problem these 2 broads can't perform simple arithmetic and screwed me out of almost $20 in store credits? This place is a complete joke, and I of course will report them to the better business bureau. Go elsewhere! They do not deserve your business. read more

If i could give zero stars i would! I never leave bad reviews but i was so disappointed that i had to. Terrible, went for an $18 spray tan, somehow ended up spending close to $100 between me and my sister. We were pushed into getting a primer after we said no plenty of times. I have been spraying at LA with no problems and no pushiness. Also, was put an accelerator in the bed without my knowledge. thought thats why i bought the primer? When asked, i was told well you are not getting a bronzer so i have to put this. And was also told she never puts clients in bed without primer. Excuse me but this is my choice. Was also not offered a choice between versa or mystic. Was automatically put into mystic so she can put her upgrades. I do not plan on coming back, what was supposed to be a quick spray session became a big selling game and wasted one hour. When a client says no, they do not need to be pushed. as for my color, it is nothing special, i went for dark and it looks like a light medium. We are disappointed, i was thinking to join the uv tan club but after being pushed i do not want that experience every time i walk in. You lost two potential spray tan customers and i will never recommend anyone to this pbt. Back to LA tan we go, with no hassle or problems. read more
