Based on the reviews, I was hesitant to go to the salon. But as a person who has tanned frequently in my lifetime at many different locations across the US - I can honestly say this is a clean & nice salon. I think some of the comments below don't consider the fact that tanning is an optional service. It's not going to be cheap to have a high-quality tanning experience. I did not feel pressured to buy anything that was offered. Tanning lotions are not typically cheap, spending $50-$100 for a good bottle of tanning lotion is very normal. All in all, I used the spray booth and bought a tanning lotion. Everything here was a good experience the negative reviews clearly wanted something for nothing. The last thing I will say is that the ladies who are working here are very friendly but also they're not making a $1M year - so let's not treat them like they're supposed to be perfect have it all together while you're being rude and demanding. Do not get a spray tan here you will look diseased. Very splotchy. Surprisingly I only have orange coloring "tan" where I put the barrier cream. Feet, knees, and hands. Save your money and apply self tanner. I have tried to get in touch with the manager MULTIPLE times and she doges my calls. I wish I could give it zero stars. Nice staff, convenient spray booth option for adding a quick, healthy and safe "glow" to your skin ... They make a one-time visit somewhat unappealing (and EXPENSIVE!), but there are MULTIPLE options for packages, memberships, ... Don't waste your money. I get a smoother, more even, longer lasting tan from tanning towels. Plus, the salespeople are quite pushy and "up-sell" you on primers, different additives, etc, which they say are crucial to making the spray tan work. So what are you paying for with the basic spray tan? Apparently nothing. Not to mention that the atmosphere in the spray tan booth feels very toxic. A bad experience all around. I bought a package of three and am going to let the last one go rather than go through this experience again. read more

This place has very good customer service, every time I walk in I am greeted immediately by their very friendly staff! The beds are very clean and the 10 minute bed I lay in gets me very dark! I also purchased the "Guilty Pleasure" tanning lotion which smells great! And keeps tanning you after laying! read more

Went today for the first time. I had not used a tanning bed in years! Sam was fantastic! She very patiently went over all the different types of beds they have and the package deals. I had been working on a tan by the pool at my building until the owner of the pool decided our building no longer has access. I almost talked myself out of visiting tanning beds again, but WOW the level three bed was just the ticket. In six minutes I had a nice glow and my mood was lifted tremendously! These are not cheap beds! They give you the benefits of vitamin D when you can't get it from the sun. Which means they have magnetic ballasts not electric ones like substandard beds. The beds are so clean and nice and everything is well-maintained. I'm so glad I went and now all my summer clothes will look so much better against a nice healthy glow. Despite the fact that I long for the days when tanning was uber cheap (what happened to the $5 beds from college?), this particular Palm Beach almost makes up for the hefty pricetag. I haven't been in the sun lately (read: at all), and my skin has taken quite the pale beating. With engagement photos and a few events coming up, I figured it was high time to put a little pigment in my complexion. Yes, I know the risks, and no, I don't think it's particularly smart BUT I'm only planning on going a few times so caution's being thrown to the wind. When I stopped in yesterday to gather info and purchase a few sessions, I was absolutely floored by the high level of customer service I received from the manager. Not only was she incredibly informative and thorough, but she was also super personable and never once made me feel like my million questions were annoying or inconvenient. She happily went through all of my pricing options, gave me a tour of the different beds, explained the tanning levels, and thoroughly explained all of the lotions (who knew there were so many different types??). I seriously think she spent 30 minutes with me. I never expected such incredible customer service, but I will seriously be referring everyone I know to this location purely on the manager alone. The salon itself is new, extremely clean, and offers high-tech beds... so there's that, too. Palm Beach has locations throughout Richmond, but this one at the Village is certainly going to be my go-to when I'm in need of a little pigment pick-up. read more

Great location, super clean and a GREAT STAFF. The staff alone sets the location apart and everyone I have interacted with have been great. Bri is fantastic and a real joy to see. The units are really nice and fully functional. This location makes me want to come back to Palm Beach Tan. read more

This is by far THE BEST PBT in the area. It's not centrally located on the big city streets, so it almost makes it more personal and makes the employees more customer savvy. When I walk there is always a smile on the employees face. They ask how I am or how my day has been and they are genuinely such sweet people. The beds are ALWAYS spotless and the products are always stocked. I love the fact that there is always a deal or a special too. If I have questions about products, the beds, etc, I feel comfortable knowing that I'll get a thorough answer. I'm so pleased to tan at this PBT. Great job too all!!! read more

Staff not knowledgeable or able to recommend beds based on my skin tone. Told me i was for sure going to burn no matter what when i told her i dont burn in the upper level beds. Didn't offer me packages or alternative options. When she was putting my info into the computer she kept asking me questions and then interrupting me. She also didn't speak clearly and didn't repeat herself after i asked her what she said. She was rude and basically told me NOT to go tanning. I ended up going tanning in the lowest bed and the bed barely heated up. Very bad experience. read more

I only spray tan because I have had numerous skin cancers. I went for a spray tan 2 days before vacation. I usually get the clear but they were out so I got the bronze. The next day my skin started peeling off my legs along with the bronzer. I took pictures and emailed customer service. I received one voicemail and tried numerous times to contact them back via phone and online. I never received a reply. Aside from looking like I had a disease while on vacation, I was never reimbursed for this disaster. I will never go to any of their establishments again! read more

To cancel your monthly membership you have to arrive (in person) to cancel on the 25th of the month. I arrived on the 27th. The reason I was not able to physically arrive at a store location on the 25th is because I was the victim of numerous crimes and was dealing with one of the worst things in my life, let alone talking with the police, not being able to sleep, not really even being able to function. I contacted the corporate office and they did not care about my circumstances. They sad that I didn't cancel by the 25th so they could not issue a refund. Even after informing them of my situation, they told me there was nothing they could do. The District Manager Michelle Tiedemann was told about my circumstances and she refused to issue a refund. I arrived less than 48 hours after their cut off date, the reason I was late is something out of my control and something I wish did not happen. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. I will NEVER deal with this company again and I hope customers think twice about the company they may wish to support. After everything I've been through, having to fight over a $32.99 charge is absolutely disgusting and sad. read more

I have already contacted the feedback email and a manager from this location left me a voicemail stating that sometimes employee may be cleaning a bed, etc. And cannot immediately come to the front. I get that. The wait with this particular employee is ridiculously long! I have been back since the manager contacted me and it happened again! There was another customer waiting before me and we both complained to each other about the long wait. Finally, after at least 5 minutes, I walked back to the restroom and saw Taylor myself, who had some towels in her arms and still wasn't in any hurry to put them down and go up front. I told her that she had customers waiting and we were on our lunch hour. I have been a member for 10+ years and have never ever experienced this! $60 is taken out of my checking account monthly and I have thought about cancelling my membership but will just go to other, less convenient locations. read more
