I was a member there in the Corona California location. the lights are weak and customer service is terrible , no stars would be best! I absolutely love palm beach tan! But I have to say the gal that was there 12/31/17 Michelle she was an amazing help. I was having a bad day when I walked in. I also only go do mystic tan the standard machine. But this time my experience was extra special. She was smiling and made me feel like she was going to make sure my tan was perfect. She offered me to try the Versa machine. I have to say I loved my tan. It's the best mystic tan I have ever experienced. I really left feeling good and thanked her for offering me the machine. I'm sure she's a great employee and everyone is awesome but this gal needs to be a manager if she isn't already. Don't join! I was in an accident and broke my back and Pelvis. I called months ago to have them cancel as I am not mobile or comfortable lying down. Two months ago I saw they have kept charging me. I called again yesterday and they said I would have to come in, I replied AGAIN that I can't so she said the could only freeze it and won't refund the ?$. IF I could give less than 0 I would!!! Canceled my membership 2+ years ago! Guilty of not checking credit card statements every month over close to $9.00 a month and didn't know I was still being charged for those 2 years until they called me to tell me they could not process the charge. Changed my credit number when I realized I was being charged. It is their policy that they DO NOT REFUND which i don't think is legal? That's my next step to find out. Their staff is totally incompetent! They knew I canceled as I have a pool but didn't have my paperwork. I was also told if I canceled I would lose my credit. This review is more in reference to this company as a whole, with the exception of one employee during the cancellation of my membership, all of the employees at this location have always been friendly while doing what they're told. With that being said, this company could benefit from backing off the harassment meant as up-selling. Every single time I came in to tan, I was harassed to buy a tanning product, or upgrade my tanning membership to the point where it was uncomfortable. It made me not want to go at all because every time I did, it was a fight to tell the employees "no" as they do not take "no" for an answer & continue to try to persuade you to purchase something extra. As I was cancelling my membership, an employee who seemed to be in charge was trying to talk me into keeping my membership. All of a sudden the prices changed & I was able to pay $14 a month for unlimited tanning to keep me from cancelling. I was questioned relentlessly about why I needed to cancel my membership and I was trying to be polite, but every reason I gave for cancelling, the employee argued as to why I didn't need to cancel for that reason. I finally told them I just want to cancel, please just let me cancel my membership. The employee in charge made snide remarks that I would be back, that she'd see me back soon. My membership has been cancelled for several weeks now & I am continually being harassed through email, phone calls, & text messages about re-signing up for $14 a month. I've been called twice & told the ladies I wasn't interested in continuing my membership, received over 5 texts even though I've replied STOP every time (I finally had to block the number they were texting from), & I still receive emails even after unsubscribing from them as well. If a company has to harass their current & past customers to this extent, there is something wrong. My experience would have been night & day had I been able to go tan without being harassed to buy something extra & I probably wouldn't have cancelled my membership in the first place. With what I've experienced since cancelling my membership, I will never go back & my family members all cancelled their memberships as well. This company would do so much better without the harassment, they have clean places of business, & for the most part, friendly employees just trying to do what they're told. read more

This was the worst experience of my life. I got a spray tan today and it was terrible. 1 my body isn't evenly sprayed. 2 I couldn't breathe in the damn spray machine. 3 I used a coupon for a free spray tan and it wasn't even free I still had to pay 26$. The place was really nice and the girl who helped me and my friend was nice but overall that was the worst experience ever. Let me just say I never want to write a bad review , but fraud from this company gives me reason ! Tip #1 ---- buy a pre paid credit card from any store CVS or Ralph's. Ect , keep only the amount you are paying them with for that month never extra money on that card! Tip#2----only deal with 1 manager the whole way through ( for every inquiry or problem) they all don't know what they are talking abut , but they are very nice. Tip#3----- if you are using you credit card and don't want to tan for a couple months, they tell you they will charge you 7.00 a month ( it's actually 8. Dollars and some change, and the 8.00 they are charging to your credit card while your not tanning goes only towards there over priced tanning lotion , or anything but your monthly tanning fee ;( sad but true) Really , not all of use the lotion!!!! Please cancel your card if you decide to stop tanning, shady people working there !! Horrible p.s bring your own SANITIZING WIPES! to wipe the tanning beds ( look on the upper part of plexi glass of the tanning bed, you will always see gross tanning smudges of arms or who knows what part of the previous persons body still there resting germs , waiting to climb all over you , look on the walls too! you will see tanning lotion squirted and hardened from not being clean , yes it grossed me out when I was there , I just wanted you all to know, knowledge is power! read more

I have been trying to cancel my membership for two months and they will not do it. They will not return my calls and when I call they say the manager is not there. They told me I could cancel over the phone when I signed up but they won't let me do so now. They said to send an email to cancel. I did so and they still charged me the following month. I called again and they said since they never sent me a confirmation email I couldn't prove they received my email and they would not refund my money. UPDATE! After posting the above review I received a call from their regional manager. She said she found my email trying to cancel my membership the previous month and did not know how it was missed before. I wish I had fallan in love with the this place. The concept of a membership sounds great but every time I go in , I still have to pay extra for the color I really want. I went in the day before my wedding, all stressed mind you and distracted, and I was told the charge was $20 something bucks. I paid it cause obviously I was distracted with last minute wedding errands on my phone. I already pay $50 dollars a month for the membership so another 20 seems steep. Apparently they charged me for the kit that comes with the sticky feet and a bunch of other things. I am 100% positive that I didn't get any of those extras since I JUST realized I never got the sticky feet. I went in again to get sprayed and I told the girl at the front desk and told her that I forsure wasn't given the sticky feet the last time and she just looks at me like she doesn't want to deal with the bullshit. I don't know her name but whenever I go in and she's there, I know ima walk out uncomfortable and dissatisfied. Long story short, I told her about my problem last session and she didn't do shit to address it. She just shrugged it off, changed the subject and gave me horrible service after I complained. It was unusual restarting after the first Covid wave. Everyone I knew had moved on and it seemed like restarting from scratch. Much to my delight it wasn't long before everything, and more, fell into place. It's only quickly improved. Today it's a warm and welcoming experience and a very welcome improvement was extended which remains today. While the salon remains one of the nicest places I visit often for some time, the crew is exceptional. I feel as if they watch over me. Today I'm told of any special offers/incentives before the front door closes behind me. Between that and other unexpected activities, it's as if I'm treated like royalty. No one has ever introduced themselves at first sight, the manager did! The tanning equipment is what it is, this extra attention is beyond what I experience 'anywhere' else to the point I look forward to returning. Way to go PBT! Came into palm beach tan as a first time customer. The girl at the front desk- I want to say was alright (she wasn't pushy with sales- just wait) however the woman behind her attempting to teach/coach her into a sale was very pushy and rude. They asked me at least 6 times to sign up and I kept saying no thank you just here for a one time thing. "we'll I'm just trying to save you money I guess you don't want to" I'm pasty AF &don't mind it most days of the year except for a few trips a year. I told them I just wanted to be beautifully tan for my last minute trip.. (My brother in law just passed away and I had to pull myself out of bed even for this visit) she then said "well you could just cancel after the first month" i didn't want to explain my life) I said "I'm sorry I have a lot of things to cancel already I don't need another right now" she huffed and said "im only trying to help you but ok" then instructed the first girl to show me to the room- she nicely showed me the room but didn't bother explaining ANYTHING!!! Thank goodness I've done spray tans so many times in my life, I had brought my own lotion, powder and caps. She said nothing except "here ya go just close the door on your way out". No acknowledgement about their supplied hair cap, lotion, foot covers NOTHING. Really wanted to find a new spot but this was not the the place to go. I just wanted to feel comfortable rolling out of my depression zone and walking out feeling kind of better but instead I got a rude judgmental initiation not even a speck of customer service. Tan itself would've been good if she had taken time to ask me what I wanted but she never did she just put in whatever color and got me out of her way and on to her next dollar sign. read more

I moved and went in to cancel my membership and they said they would freeze my account and I could restart it anytime. What they did not tell me is that they charge you $8.95 a month to freeze your account. I needed a tan late one night and my usual tantress wasnt available so i thought i would try Palm Beach since theyre nearby. They lied on the phone and when i first got there telling me my tan was free since ive never been there before. Just before i was about to go back where the spray tan machine was they said i owed $29.99. I about died. I got lied to (and so did my sister and friend, this same thing happened to them). Therefore ill never return because i dont believe in giving my money to a company who manipulates their customers. The salon was very clean however. Beautiful salon! My mother in law referred me to get me to do some self care. Goal achieved. I had the opportunity to be helped by Mariah. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with the questions I had. I noticed that the staff greeted each customer who came in by name. It made me feel like I was in my small hometown in Iowa. I was recommend by a friend to visit one of the palm beach tan locations and at last I visit the Riverside location. It was my first time visiting so the employee was explaining to me how the process is and different prices and if I wanted to be a member. I just wanted to do the basic because I have never been to this tan place and wanted to make sure that I liked it before doing something darker and I may not like it. So I went inside and told them that I just wanted the basic spray tan but the employee kept talking about upgrading and bronzer, pretty much she is a sales driven person and wanted me to get more and therefore paying more for it. I did not want to risk it because knowing that I have a wedding the next day, I didn't want to look weird if I didn't like my tan. The location is nice, big and they have a lot of spray tan rooms as well as bed tan rooms. So I asked her about the difference between the different spray tans because I would never do the bed ones. She kept on insisting that it was better to do the darker and to add the bronzers which are al extra. I had my mind set and was not going to listen to what she was saying. Then she said that the basic one will only last for one day and that is why that i should be be adding more or upgrading and that got me annoyed because I came here to do the basic, I will do that so stop repeating things over and over and lying too. Although she said that it will only last one day for the basic spray tan, it has been 8 days since I got it and I still have my tan, its not as dark because it was just the basic but its there so there is no reason to lie so you can do more sales. I dislike that about this business. I may go back to palm beach tan but definitely not his location because I don't like to be told false information. read more

This was my second time tanning for this company. But I only got the spray tans before. Alicia was informative and eased my fears about a tanning bed (Movie FINAL DESTINATION). The bed and room were clean and sanitized ( I ran my finger across top of bed looking for dust, found none) Tiffani got me set up in the room and explained the controls. When I was done, they explained the tan packages and a few of the products. I bought a Diamond package. Alicia even informed me to come in by the 25th if I needed to change or cancel membership, or else I would be charged the next month. I am excited to try this out! read more

It pains me to write a review, I have been coming to this location for 8 years before palm beach owned this salon. Monthly paying customer. So for the past year it is frustrating to constantly having the check in person push products, wait for them to clean beds because they are too busy up selling packages, talking about spray tans and selling products. I get it you need to sell, but they also should get trained how to politely ask can I check this person in! I stood for over 10 min today while she talked ON THE PHONE about spray tan to someone! Then waited for her to clean the bed! Why?? You can put someone nicely on hold and take care of the person paying in front of you! If they aren't selling they have no customer service skills! Retention should be just as important as new clients! I love the beds! I love the color! And it's clean. But it's like going to the car dealership with pushy sales. read more
