I was told by the employee Kayla - when purchasing plans that I could give my daughter one of my sprays. came back next trip- with my daughter & went into storefront to use it and the person working refused to allow this. EVEN though another employee told me I could. I feel they have stolen money from me. I would NOT of continued to purchase the plan - knowing this. On 12/2/24, the manager of this location, Sammy, was berating an employee on the sales floor for wanting to resign while SEVERAL customers were well within earshot. At no point should a customer hear a MANAGER yelling at an employee for any reason, let alone for wanting to resign, even if no notice is given. Furthermore, as someone who has held a title of "Manager" across multiple career paths, I find it extremely unprofessional and blatantly disrespectful for an employer to publicly humiliate and/or embarrass an employee. Managers are supposed to be held to a higher standard, and lead by example. For a company that has such a high employee turnover rate, maybe you should invest in conflict resolution, leadership, and constructive feedback training programs for your management team. read more

Rude employees. They couldn't care less if it takes 2 minutes or 20 minutes to check you in. Its run by a bunch of lazy millineals that don't know the 1st thing about customer service, and I question their intelligence. There is one gal, and she knows who she is, that is friendly and cares about service. Also, to save money they rarely change bulbs and I have been in multiple times when bulbs were weak. Additionally, I found a banana peel right at the base of bed 9. Pretty gross. In my experience, if the service is bad, the cleanliness is bad too; its an overall attitude There are many tanning salons in the area. I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I started tanning again for Summer June 2nd, 22. I have the Platinum Pkg. I went the first 3 visits in the Gold Beds to build a base tan. I'm amazed on how fast these gold beds helped develop my base tan. I am now going in the Platinum Beds for the full 12 minutes. I've tanned for about 2 weeks now and a developed a Beautiful Dark Tan. These bed work Awesome. The salon is always clean, friendly organized staff, and theres always a bed available when I go tanning. Highly Recommend. Great Place to Tan. When you finally reach your limit and WISH it was just PMS! Let me start this by saying the 2 stars vs 1 is for the customer service sales men and women here that are a pleasure to see AND know when to stop. Let me preface this by first addressing that I realize the customer service team HAS to push their products, their upgrades, their spray tans their EVERYTHING that brings PBT more money other than the monthly $ you pay for tanning at whatever level your heart desires. And that once thy reach their quota, they earn commission on ALL the sales they make. AND I realize that for every person like me that comes in there and just does their normal, already paid for tan, makes their personal monthly #s drop. I know they HAVE to reach a certain goal every month or they get 'a warning' and after 2 or 3 months of not making their minimum sales #, they get their pink slip. I know this because I've had family and friends work for PBT. Okay, now is where I go 'there'. Today I reached my (insert that cuss word here) limit. 'No Thank You' means NO THANK YOU! It doesn't mean tell me more. When I say 'The last 3 sales people have already told me what you're telling me the last 2 weeks'. It means STOP! But instead I get to hear more explanations and more options. So again 'No thank you', but again more details. It's like when you go to to Starbucks or Dutch Bro's drive-thru, they take your order, they may say 'would you like a danish with that, today it's only $2.' You say now thank you and what happens? They tell you the price of your order and you keep it moving. But with this PBT employee....I am now at the point of wanting to say I SAID NOOOOOOOOOO THANK FOR THE (minimum) 5TH TIME ALREADY! After her clear frustration at my not wanting anything, including my 1 free upgrade where I could get done in 12 minutes vs 20, also know as a PBT perk in hopes it makes you want to upgrade your level, I finally got to leave the counter and go tan. I walked away not only feeling like I was at a car dealership, but also holding my breath from saying 'someone needs to teach you about body language and listening to your customer.' But, and here is why I'm having to post this review. When you decide to give THIS customer a dirty look as she exits the tanning bed room........NOW you've gone TOO far! You have NO idea how lucky you just got that I walked away vs throwing down words to a point where not only do you cry uncontrollably, but you NEVER want to push a sale again because you've lost all nerve at eye contact!!!!!! We attempted to put our account on freeze and they neglected to do it. No big deal really and not much money but the discussion went south in a hurry with a "know it all" manager. She verbally gunned us down in every way with both barrels. There was no doubt in our minds that she was in this predicament before and was not taking responsibility. She sounded like she had memorized the script. We understand everybody is having a hard time finding good help these days and they are stuck hanging a manager pin on people with little or no experience but this was over the top. We cancelled our plan and disputed the charges with our credit card company-so now they don't have the disputed money or the customers. Hopefully there is an experienced supervisor above her that can coach her on customer service. read more

Avoid this location solely based on the manager. 1 thing she guarantees is a bad attitude, guarantee she will always try and sell you a different lotion, and lie about bed quality. I attempted to put my account on freeze through several means (calling the store, customer care, online) no one was in the stores, the customer care line sends you to the store or the website and apparently there's no record of my request on the website. They will steal your money and admit it was their fault (they will not process refunds, for any reason). I basically paid $140 for a mediocre spray tan back in February. BE AWAEE... I moved from SoCal and always had nothing but wonderful experiences at Palm Beach Tan. I recently moved to Oregon part time, and the girl working at this location told me that it would be better if I switched my membership over to Oregon. I asked her multiple times if anything on my membership would change. She promised me it would not. Then, my pricing almost doubled. I contacted Krista at customer service and waited over a week for a response. She only responded after I sent a very lengthy email talking about the importance of professionalism and communication. They finally honored my California pricing,... now, I find out that my entire membership changed and dark spray isn't even included! Which is basically all I use. I've emailed Krista again, hoping to get a response within the next 7 to 10 business days about this issue. They clearly are not all on the same page, and I have been lied to multiple times by multiple people who work here. It is extremely disappointing, considering I have been a member for 10 years. It's starting to feel like they are just a money, hungry business, or in the business of scamming people for more money. If you want to tan at a place where people actually care about you as a customer, here is not the place.... Be aware! And do not believe anything they tell you. There are many other places to tan in the city that will not lie to your face. Also they do not care about their customers whatsoever and do a terrible job at training their staff. Lindsey is the absolute worst. I've been a member for a couple of years and she always treats me like shit. even her coworker acknowledged it a few months ago and said she doesn't understand why she always treats me so bad and told Lindsey in private to "give me a break". (I won't say her coworker's name out of respect, but she quit because she moved to join the armed forces - you figure that one out, owners!) I have even heard her talking shit about me while putting on lotion months ago and then she turned up the music when she realized I could hear her. Its no secret that Lindsey hates me for some reason and has always treated me like complete shit. I am sick of it!!!!!! I pay monthly and shouldn't have to deal with her disgusting childish attitude towards me every time I tan! I tan to relax and being treated like trash isnt very relaxing. Going in to this salon is like going into the girl's locker room in a High school. The employees are giggling in the back room, running around, on their phones and completely unprofessional. I have been into this salon multiple times and I was completely ignored because the "employees" were too busy laughing in the back. I also purchased a 3 pack of spray tans and I was never informed that they would expire after 3 months until I called one day to ask how many I had left. The girl on the phone told me they had all expired and that it was "weird no one told me" when I purchased them. They definitely should let their customers know if a package will expire so that the customers can actually use it. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this salon. read more

I've been to other Palm Beach tans with no problems and had good experiences. This location has so many restrictions only when the manager Ruthy is there. I recently reactivated my account since I hadn't been tanning in awhile. I was getting ready to take a trip to Hawaii and wanted to get a base before my trip. I had a credit since my account was on pause, the manager used the credit to activate my account. We didn't spend any time going over ALL the restrictions this location would have but I should have known. Ruthy wouldn't let me tan over the 6 minutes and said her computer would allow her to add any additional minutes for my first tan. She said I would need to tan for 3 sessions all at 6 minutes before adding time. So I returned for my second tan....thank goodness Ruthy wasn't there. I was able to tan for the full 12 minutes. My third tan, I returned to find out I was less than 30 minutes short of this 24 hour tan restriction. Had Ruthy gone over ALL the restrictions when I reactivated my account I would have made sure to log the time so I didn't make a special trip into the store. 4th tan again couldn't tan, Needless to say I'm not impressed. read more

On July 12 I wrote a review saying how much I was appointed with the service provided in this establishment. On July 15th Penelope M reply apologising and asking me to send some data by email and immediately someone would contact me. Apparently she uses the same reply to everyone who writes a complaint. The same day I sent the information requested and I'm still waiting for contact from them, as she said it would happen. In those 15 days I've been on Palm Beach Tan countless times, because the upgrade I paid only expires on August 15th and no one spoke to me about that. I had the WORST experience here yesterday. They sent me a coupon via email, then refused to allow me to redeem it until the manager came back from the bank. I had to wait for 20 minutes. I finally sprayed in their new Versa machine and my tan is ridiculously dark. Like laughable. I did level 2 out of 4 levels of darkness. I look horrible. I have been a member there for years, but canceled my membership yesterday. The manager didn't seem to care. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

Their Mystic Tan machine is the new version, where you do quarter turns and it air dries you. I have a large package of spray tans. I went in for the first time in a year last week and they were super friendly. My tan lasted for a few days and looked really good. read more

Aggressively rude manager!! . For billing issues or complaints you will not be referred to anyone else and refused alternative contact information. - Check your monthly statements regularly ! I hadn't for a few months and found I had been billed consistently full price when I had put my account on hold as I had done in the past - I simply wanted a refund for the difference of wrong billing. Their website is convoluted and this is a franchise - so here is the benefit of my intense research for anyone who needs it in the future so you don't have to go through my nightmare of trying to find a person who might actually help you. PBT tends to be pushier with sales than other tanning salons. A girl Lindsey pushes REALLY hard and it can come off as intimidating. The stupidest thing though is PBTs stupid tanning "law" (AKA rule) about waiting a full 24 hours before you can tan. Upon signing up, it was explained to me that this was a tanning LAW. They used the word "law". If you tan at 3:59 one day, you cannot tan until 4:00 exactly or later the next day. You cannot tan at 3:55 or 3:58, you must wait. This is really stupid and inconvenient because traffic varies when I get off work. Come to find out that this is only THEIR rule, NOT a "law", and that other places allow one tan per calendar day as normal. I immediately terminated my membership here and opted for Tan Republic instead-- which has more competitive pricing, same if not BETTER beds, many convenient locations, clean salons, non-pushy sales employees, and no stupid 24 hour "law" AKA rule. Oregon law is once per calendar day, but thanks for misleading me during my initial sign-up, PBT. read more

I have had endless issues with this place. In agreement with one of the previous reviews, it is run by very young UNprofessional girls. The only reason I go is because they have the only Versa I can find in the area. Issue 1: The first time I went in, I asked for the darkest spray tan, one of the girls asked me repeatedly if I was sure and when I said "yes" the final time, she rolled her eyes. Issue 2: I bought a tanning package of 6 spray tans. It was to expire within 3 months of being activated. The lady I bought it from said that I could activate half at one point and the other half at another time and that she would leave a note on my account since I wouldn't be using all 6 within the 3 months. When I used my first tan, they activated all 6 and when I confronted them at the counter about it they said I would need to speak with the manager who was not in at the time. So I called in, spoke with the manager who told me there was nothing they could do because it was something in their system they couldn't change. At this point I'm extremely frustrated... Issue 3: I give them another chance and go in. I am standing *naked* in the versa and it blows nothing but air (and a few uneven squirts of spray) on me! So I get dressed, go out and explain the situation to the girl at the desk. She comes in, restarts it and tells me it's good. I get undressed again and it does the same thing! I get dressed and go explain the SAME thing...she comes in and finds out it's out of the spray lotion! HELLO! Even though it was working fine the THIRD time, my tan was not even at that point... Issue 4: I was really pressed on time, but I got in and was really anxious to get on my way. The versa isn't working! I get dressed and go out to tell the girls at the desk. While spending 10-15 minutes of trying to figure the machine out, they decide to call their manager, who DOESN'T answer. Not to mention the employee is making comments like, "she never answers when you need her". OK...well, this is no help to me. After about 30 minutes, we finally get it running again. At this point I refuse to go over there. I WILL NOT buy a package from them. They have received way too much money from me for the service I received. I hope they read this and improve their customer service because I will be telling everyone about my experience(s) here. My friend has a girlfriend that works at another tanning salon, I'll now be going to her or another salon in the area. Improve your game ladies. Not impressed the least bit. read more

Well, I realized a month or so later that they were still charging me. I attempted to contact their corporate office for a "real" cancellation and a refund, but no response. Totally annoyed. First, they sign you up for a package but they don't tell you all the rules. I bought a pack of 3 sessions but wasn't told it expired in 21 days. I used 2 of the 3 sessions but had one left. Came in yesterday to sign up for another pack thinking I would have 3 plus the one I had from before. No Bueno! Luckily, the girl that signed me up for the 3 gave me a free session. Now I'm here waiting 22 mins because of 24 hour policy??? Which I totally get but I know for a fact that when I was on a monthly membership for in past years 2012, 2013, 2014, I know I came less then 24 hours. Anyway, I tried coming at noon today but couldn't find parking so I gave up. I then came at 7:15 but now have to waiting till 7:36pm to tan. Sassy girl tells me that the 24 policy had always been in affect since 2014. Ugh!!! I finally get in, no towel, not even sure if it was cleaned. read more

The girls that work here are mentally challenged and unprofessional. 75% percent of the time I go in to get a spray on tan they don't have the booth set up. Walked in the store and the girl up front was talking to a different customer. The customer turned and said would you ike to check in this girl first? She said umm i have someone else here and then proceeded to help the other customer. Fine... i waited and listended to a long conversation about how fun mexico is. About 5 min of standing there awkwardly and then the other associate cory comes out. Says hey... so i walk up to the counter as he mumbled something that i thought was asking my last name. So i said it and he replies while throwing his hands up "give me just a sec i just got done cleaning 10 beds" WOW. ok... then he proceeded to only look at the computer screen. No smile. No eye contact. After we established that i wanted to tan he says "where's your goggles? Can i see them?" I said you really want me to rummage theough my purse and get them? "Yep" he replies in a curt and stick up his a** manner. After not finding them initially and wanting to keep personal items in my purse and be courteous of the line forming behind me i said how much are new ones. Bought some. Found my other goggles when i was in private and got super irritated at how i was treated, I thought to myself, if he is at the counter and doesn't say have a good day or acknowledge me I'm going write a review. So here it is. Cancelling the membership becaise of all together bad customer service. I've tried many many places for spray tans, and I've settled on them! The workers aren't super nice (kinda hit and miss on whether they're nice) but that's not really a big deal for me. I haven't bed tanned here, but I have figured out I like the Versa spray tan machine better than the other one. It lasts a little less time but it's less orange on me. Also Versa will not clump when coming off, as the other one does. Overall a good experience and priced decently. read more

First time at this location I hurried fast to make it and got there 20 minutes before close - I don't like to be one of those customers who shows up right at closing - not cool - I know the employees have to clean the place and still wait on customers who are tanning past close. But one of the employees was rude when I had driven half an hour out of my way after work before my 2 hour commute in the opposite direction - home in WA just to get one spray tan I wouldn't bed tan and spray because I knew they were closing soon - I didn't care if it was versa or mystic. But the girl said no sorry there's a person in line - I said I understand I'll just get a spray either one I don't need to bed tan. But she seemed so annoyed and just like she wanted her shift to end and letting out a sigh while she clacked her sparkly gold nails while looking at the computer. But she was clearly unhappy there and I know we all have our bad days but there's no way I'll be supporting this location again. Right when I walked in the vibe seemed tense and uncomfortable with the customers too. I'll stick to my usual Vancouver (most used location on 192nd) they have the best customer service and I've never had someone seem annoyed or upset- they always have a great attitude and seem happy to be there and I'm always excited it's my treat to go there on the weekends after my 60-75 hour work week. I know I'll be treated great and I've seen several different employees at that location I hadn't seen before and no matter who it has been to greet me they have a wonderful attitude and smile and are just kind and patient even with a room full of customers. Even if they're having a bad day or had a rude customer(s) it doesn't show - I love this location and every employee I've had the pleasure to meet. read more

I bought a big spray tan package back in 2008. I only tan a few times a year so it has taken me a long time to use the tans. I called today to find out how many tans I had left and I was told I had 3 left but they expired last December and they would not reinstate the tans. I bought the package a long time ago but I believe I was told they would not expire. I have enjoyed my tan experience at Palm Beach but I am not happy that I have lost 3 of my spray tans due to a policy I was not made aware of. read more
