How unprofessional. We originally said we were giving them $5 tip each. They literally laughed in our faces and demanded that we give more tip because they "massaged" us for 70 minutes. So when we asked how much tip they wanted, the witch in front said "it up to you." If it was up to me, you wouldn't get a tip at all. They got an undeserving $10 tip each. 25 PERCENT! Bullshit. not even sure where to start here since it was such a haphazard experience . . . .. -of the three staff I had contact with, it was abundantly clear that none of them spoke english. this includes the man who massaged me. - there are multiple types of massage which require varying degrees of skill acquired by training and study. this location provides the short, deep, and literally choppy type of "massage". I honestly hesitate to even call it actual massage. - masseuse did not offer any type of communication before starting the massage (I.e., which areas to avoid due to any number of factors, which areas I wanted him to focus on, ect.). - first portion of the service was a warm foot bath and foot massage, followed by hands, arms face, and head. all anterior. this part was not conducted in a private room. during this part of the service, I could hear the loud, harsh pumping of lotion from this dirty, one gallon container. tacky. - as he moved to "massaging" my face (which is an area i would have greatly preferred he skip altogether) I quickly detected the unmistakable scent of nicotine on his hands/fingers. this goes beyond tacky. this is flat out disgusting. he was literally rubbing nicotine remnants onto my face. - when he finished chopping and slapping at the anterior of my body (which was in a reclined position), it was time to move on to a private room to have the back of my arms, legs, back, ect. done. this was about the same caliber as when he was working on the front side, though perhaps a little better. the main issue here was when he abruptly left the room without notifying me. I heard the door of the breakdown (directly across from the makeshift room I was in with only a curtain for a door) open and close loudly. after the door closed, I heard him hack into the sink or trashcan. Less than ten seconds later he reappeared to continue with me. nice. - service complete. now time fo pay. for what exactly, I am not sure . . . as I am standing at the narrow counter near the entrance, I realize I am loosely surrounded by three staff including the man who provided the service. that is REALLY tacky to just be hanging out 5' away from your customer as they are paying. I realized it was a scheme to pressure me into a bigger tip but I did not let it influence me. I confidently handed him a fair tip based on the price of the massage ($35), smiled and thanked him politely as I walked out the door never to return. read more

Where can you find a whole body massage with no back massage. Wnen we went to the front desk to pay, we asked the manager who took our payment Why didn't they massage our back? I received a nice postal card at my front door announcing the opening of this establishment. I finally walked in today and too my amazement it is WONDERFUL! Having spent a year in China and experienced the foot massages and body massages, this place was perfect. It was not your typical stuffy cookie cutter massage business. I love the open area where you receive your foot massage. Very welcoming staff and you will experience a serene feeling during your massage. I opted for the 30 minute foot massage, and a 30 minute body massage. The foot massage also includes a chair side massage massaging the head, neck, face, arms, and legs (all while your feet are soaking). Afterwards I proceeded to a private massage table. The business has 3 massage tables that are separated by curtains. I loved the set up. The awesome part about this is all of this for only $30.00. Lisa was so wonderful I gladly gave her a $10.00 tip. Terrible. They are shady and try to steal your money. I paid for one hour upfront and the lady halfway through kept saying something that I couldn't understand. Eventually I just gave the woman a thumbs up and put my head down. I realized it had gone past the hour but I figured they didn't watch the clock. Once it was over they tried to take my to 70 and the lady argued over and over until I just walked out. If you want your lady to ask for an extra 30 minutes than make sure she can actually speak English. Never going back to these thieves. I have had a few massages here (out of desperation) when my regular girl can't get me in. A couple of the massages were decent, a couple were down right awful. It is really hit or miss. It isn't quiet or private, but that's to be expected in this type of establishment - it's why it's so cheap! My biggest pet peeve isn't even the hit or miss service; it's that they ask me if I have cash when I hand them my credit or debit card - EVERY TIME. Visa and Mastercard logos are displayed in the window and at the counter, so why ask for cash? The last time I went the credit card machine wasn't working, and I only had enough cash for the tip. I wrote a check to Palm Massage, but he handed it back and asked me to write another one, but leave the "To" portion of the check blank. Shady. I won't go back. read more

I went there for a massage tonight. I selected the full body one hour massage for $40 which admittedly is a very low price and so I had fairly low expectations. The massage itself was competent if not good. She did cover most of my trouble spots, but she is the type of masseuse that runs on autopilot and did not adjust to me as she worked problem areas. I am somewhat hairy (at least by Asian standards) and while she did use oil it was not enough and was not refreshed as she worked so she pulled my hair uncomfortably somewhat on my upper back and quite a lot on my legs. (Places like my lower back where I have no hair were fine.) The facility itself is crowded with many small massage areas which are just partitions (about 6.5 feet high, not even to the ceiling) with cloth hanging for a door so while it is reasonably private it is quite noisy. Their tables are the very basic kind with just a hole for your face as opposed to the nicer kind with an adjustable headrest and it left me with a sore face after ~40 minutes face down. My face is still a bit sore now 90 minutes later (and that is not from massaging my face). I'd probably have given them three stars, but when I was paying and told them I wanted to give a $7 tip (on $40 so that's 17.5%) which I felt was fairly generous for somewhat mediocre service, they told me it was not enough and asked for more. The massage was decent, so I said they could do a $9 tip so with there $1 credit card surcharge, the total was $50. I probably won't go back, but if I ever did, I'd be sure to have exact change and would NOT negotiate on tip. So, if you're happy to give a 20% tip and are after a "autopilot" type massage by someone with modest skills for a modest price ($40 for an hour) then this may be the place for you. Just don't go there expecting the same level of service you would get at a more professional place. read more

I was in need of a deep tissue massage specifically for my knots. I specifically told the front desk lady to only work on my back. She took me back to the sketchy looking tables and started messaging my back with a towel as a barrier. She then left and a male came in to take over. 1) I wish they told me that they were switching my masseuse because I wouldn't have agreed to a male. 2) The guy who took over had no idea what he was doing. He started massaging my legs and I told him to only focus on my knots. However, as he found many of my knots, it was like he didn't know what to do. Long story short he didn't RELIEVE not one of my knots, he would find it and then switch to another part of my back. He also left and then came back with steaming hot stones which he immediately put on my back with no warning. I gasped and he giggled. He did the same thing with hot towels. I've had about 50+ massages in my life and this has been the WORST massage of my life. I believe that he was not trained in the slightest. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please save your money and go to a professional massage place. He defiantly messed up my back and now it hurts worse then ever. I have become a regular client and try to go at least once a week. The massages are awesome! I like deep tissue because I work out alot and need it. I get the 30/30 combo. I have the punch card, too. After 10 visits, you receive a free 30 minute massage. Its only $30 for the hour long massage, but the quality of service and nice staff is so great, so I always leave a $20 tip. The massage is nice, but the service is lousy! This was my second time there and I had called earlier in the day for an appointment at 3 pm. I was a couple of minutes late, but when I got there no one was available and I would have had to wait an entire hour. Then the only person who could understand English argued with me and told me it was MY fault that they didn't plan better! Absolutely NOT what you want to deal with after a hard day at work. I left in a huff (I'm sure all their clients heard this exchange because there are no walls between the lobby and the massage chairs) and proceeded to Massage Eden down the street, where I was treated with class and respect even though I was a walk-in. I think this place is awesome considering it's 20$ for an hour foot massage, they actually massage ur head arms then legs. Very comfortable recliners and just a nice escape. I go to this location about two or three times a month. It is the closest foot spa to me and I am very thankful that they have opened one that is closer than the ones I used to drive to in Fountain Valley or Rowland Heights. The massages do vary depending on who the masseuse is. I tend to like mine firm but not too hard and sometimes they can get a little painful, especially on the back. But I might be more sensitive than others. I will tell the masseuse to go softer but their idea of "softer" and mine are not always the same. Regardless, the price is great. I always get the $20 foot massage. Their "foot massage" is actually about 10 minutes on the head and neck, 10 minutes on the arms, 30 minutes on the feet and lower legs and then another 10 minutes on a table with an intense massage of the back. I always tip $10 so I budget for $30 total when I go. They do have a stamp card. When you get 10 foot massages you get one free. read more

I agree with others that the therapists are uninterested. On my first and only visit here this week, the customer service was terrible. There was no greeting or introduction, no questions about my preferences, no explanations about what was going to happen. My therapist started by pointing to a reclining table with a blanket on it where I laid down. She gestured to me to put my shoes in a bucket. Then she brought in a bucket of water and asked me to put my feet in it. It felt a bit slimy. Then she left again and came back and started rubbing my face with oil. Not just my forehead, temples, or brow; but my whole face. I didn't expect that (I asked for a foot massage) and didn't really care for the oil on my face. But, I was not asked if that would be okay. The therapists hands didn't smell clean either. Then she put more oil in her hands and slicked back the front of my hair and gave me a very poor scalp massage for a minute. I did not like the oil in my hair. She massaged my neck for a few minutes by rubbing her thumb up and down one line on each side and then pinching the tops of my shoulders. It wasn't good. Then she left the room again for a few minutes (to get a towel I assume). When she came back she dried my feet off, sat down and started on my foot massage. She rubbed one spot repetitively with pressure rapidly decreasing until she would just stop. After several seconds she would start up again, decreasing pressure until she stopped again. She stopped about every minute. When I opened my eyes and watched her, I confirmed that she was nodding off to sleep. It was a complete waste of 40 minutes. The whole thing was so unprofessional that I will never go back again. If the massage had been great, I might have been able to look past the fact that the place is run down and the rooms aren't private so everyone can hear everything (grunts and groans, "oh yea", "ouch that hurts", "harder", therapists talking to each other in their language, reception answering phone calls, etc). i was able to walk in to this establishment and get a massage without an appointment. I was needing just a "cheapy" massage, and that (unfortunately) is exactly what I got. I'm sure not all the massage people at this place are like the one I had, but I don't know her name because she speaks no english. i knew I wasn't going to get the best massage because I was going to get what I was paying for ... $35. I don't think anyone is licensed as a massage therapist. oh, and they charge you a $1 extra if you use your credit card. the massage was ok... but when I told her it was "too hard"... she didnt' change the pressure much. some areas are sore and bruised. the kicker was that she talked on the phone 3 (THREE !!!!!) times during my massage. what? So, then i'm thinking, "this completely sucks." I was also thinking of how much am i going to tip this incredibly unprofessional masseuse? $5 was what I was thinking. As I was leaving and I handed her the $5... she looked at me and said, (in her broken english) "you give me more tip." I have had a lot of full body massages at some very nice places. Kaidy did a deep tissue massage that was the best ever. Strong, firm, and most important, a real deep tissue. Not someone just jamming on the muscles and hurting you. She went the full hour and had worked up a sweat. She is a very hard worker. I don't know how you give massages like that all day. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I decided to check them out due to a coupon for a foot massage. Plus I'm pregnant and my tired feet needed some attention. Pricing reads $15 for 40 min foot massage. That's a LIE! They waste time by soaking your feet and "working" on your neck. In the middle of my massage is where things got interesting: they started painting and vacuuming. The paint fumes got me light headed and my session was cut short but I still decided to pay full price. Initially I wasn't going to tip but decided to give 10%. And Oh boy when the lady heard me she turned red with anger and couldn't believe it. She kept questioning if I knew how to do math and went on to mumble things in her native language. I will NOT be returning to this establishment! I entered the store for a foot massage (had a coupon) and the lady at the desk spent about 2 minutes trying to get me to buy more expensive services. I said I'm just here for the foot massage. The massage was what I expected, but when I asked the gentleman to be a little more gentle, he didn't really tone it down (language problems?). After the foot massage portion was completed, he and the lady from the front tried to motion me to a back private area, and I said NO, that I had to go and that my hour was up. A lot of confusion, but finally paid the coupon price and left. When I was 1/2 way to my car, the gentleman and lady ran out to the parking lot and said it's not enough money! I reminded them I had a coupon, and with MORE language difficulty, the lady yelled at me "TIPS, where's our TIP??" I had totally forgotten about any sort of tip, which I normally leave, BUT there was NO way I was going to leave them anything when they run at me in the parking lot yelling for one! I said I don't have any money to leave. I had to say it a few times before they moved out of my way and I left. The lady grunted her disapproval of me, and I responded in a calm voice that I guess I won't be coming back again. Inside, I had already told the fellow (James I think his name was) that I would see him again...Unfortunately, these folks don't know how to run a service business.
