This morning, while sitting in traffic near Boca Raton, one of JVAC's marked service vans aggressively used the express lane exit to bypass traffic before forcing its way back into the travel lane. The driver continued all the way to the plastic delineator posts and nearly clipped the mirror off the pickup truck in front of me. It was an incredibly aggressive and disrespectful maneuver that reflected poorly on the company. As a business owner myself, I know employees don't always make the best decisions. I own an electrical contracting company, and if one of my employees was driving one of my marked vehicles like that, I would absolutely want someone to let me know. Insurance is expensive enough, and your company's reputation is too important to have it damaged by careless driving. I called the number on the back of the van expecting at least a little defensiveness, but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner answered, listened to my concerns without making excuses, thanked me for bringing it to his attention, and assured me he would address the issue with the driver. That level of accountability deserves recognition. We all know how difficult it is to find and keep good employees, and one employee shouldn't necessarily define an entire company. Hopefully this becomes a learning experience for the driver and helps prevent something more serious from happening in the future. While I can't comment on the quality of JVAC's HVAC work, I can say I appreciated the professionalism and accountability shown by the owner when a legitimate concern was brought to his attention.

As a result, they could not turn the gas back on. I called 4 Star Plumbing around 1:30 pm and by 2:20 p.m. they had someone at my house. Derek was very nice and I felt horrible for him to climb the roof in this heat. Word of advice: ask for the price ahead of time so you don't have a sticker shock. It cost $500 to snake two pipes they... the cost is the same for one or two or three pipes if they have to get on your roof that's the cost. If you know where your cleanout is it is slightly cheaper. Derek asked me where they sneaked it last time and I told him that they came down the roof. The entire process took about an hour Derek took his time, ran the water, snaked again, Etc. I also asked them for an estimate for a water heater and replacement of cast iron pipes. Besides the sticker shock, I was very impressed by their services! As a homeowner, I relied on 4 Star's expertise to properly diagnose and resolve the issue. Instead, I spent thousands of dollars, suffered water damage, disrupted my tenants, and ultimately had to move forward with a major sewer replacement project through another contractor. What disappointed me most was the lack of accountability when I raised my concerns. I understand that underground plumbing issues can be complex, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend 4 Star Plumbing. I would strongly encourage homeowners to obtain multiple inspections and opinions before proceeding with expensive sewer repairs.
