I purchased a brand new Kia K5 2025 off the showroom floor! I have three tires that have like golf balls sticking out of the side of them. Palmen service department said "you hit something and you damaged three tires! You hit it a bump and it's your fault we will not replace any of the tires!" we understand you only have 13,000 miles on your vehicle, but you cannot hit bumps with these cheap Korean tires! recently had my jeep gladiator in for a warranty repair. this was for corrosion on the doors and other body parts. at almost a month i was told it was ready and could pick it up. finding several things wrong at pick up the biggest was the leaking driver door. it was not leaking when dropped off. was told due to the model of jeep i could pay them to fix it or in other terms deal with it. i stated the door was not leaking when dropped off and shouldn't be when picking up. was told i could buy a new seal and have put on. again, how do i know the seal was not damaged during the repair. contacted jeep and was told i would have to work it out with the service manager. no help there also. so now a warranty issue is going to come out of my pocket. learned my lesson read more

I've been going to Palmen for service for years. The last two times I've gone service is down. Last visit they forgot to put the mileage sticker on my window not a big deal but come. Then this last time the service advisor is arguing with me about how often I should rotate my tires I asked him to check my records I do it every other oil change he said I have not had it done on my last visit but I did I checked my receipts at home I keep them. Then I asked them to replace lights that are out they just blew it off did not change them out. Maybe it's time to go to another place for service. read more

Took my car in for an oil change tires and an alignment. Got the car back and brought it home leaking antifreeze. Wasn't leaking antifreeze when i brought it in they would have seen it. My husband had some planned maintenance, tune up type done here in February. Note the tires didn't need to be touched. They stole all his close ended lug nuts and when he noticed and called them on it he was told the cameras would be checked and he would get a call back. Buyer beware of "Appalling Motors." 1990's Sales tactics here create bloat on pricing and treat the buyers like dolts. I went in to look at jeeps and jeep gladiators... I noticed right away that every Gladiator was carrying an extra set of post-delivery dealer add-ons that do nothing but inflate the vehicle's price while not giving you an option to choose them as add-ons or opt-out. If you had a choice, you might say no to the ~$2300 minimum in underbody coating, paint, and upholstery protection which equates to about between 4 -6% added to the price of the vehicle. If I wanted underbody coating, I would take elsewhere to have it done by the shop at the dealership. Additionally, as a negative option meaning you don't get a choice, it is by definition only favorable for one party - the dealership - because anytime you don't get to choose or select what you want - you lose. You get no choice selecting and no discretion on price/spend. The conversation I had with a rather poorly performing salesman only reinforced this point. I asked, do you mean to say I have no option of opting out of such add-ons, even for a recently delivered car to the dealership? He said, Correct - All of them get it. He also answered - or only if you order from the factory. The dealer also explained they have to charge that cost because it's expensive. Yeah, which is why you should allow the buyer to choose- duh! Proof they add that on as an internal dealership policy from management to inflate the prices in their favor. If it's such a great option, give the consumer the choice of adding it at their discretion. Maybe the next time Mr.Palmen goes out for dinner, he can order a steak and get fish instead because that's what the house wants him to eat -they know best! Lastly, no matter how much you scour their website, there is no mention anywhere of these additional add-ons being included anywhere nor anywhere on a particular automobile description. That's right - You get to find out about it after you get there, learning they made the car nearly $2500 more expensive than it needed to be. Oh, remember you didn't get a choice. read more

Bought a Jeep Renegade from them about 3 Months ago the engine coolant was below the minimum line which I should have mentioned as soon as I noticed. I also regret not checking the paperwork shortly after getting it, because the website said Jeep Renegade Altitude, and they told me it was an Altitude but after reading through all the paperwork and finally getting the title it says Latitude so seems like they sell it as Altitude to make more money. read more

My father bought a used car here and 2700 miles later it needs a $5000 transmission replacement. They offer a 3 month 3000 mile warranty but at 70 years old my father didn't drive it enough before the 3 months expired. The car has been driven only 2700 miles in 5 months and they refuse to help at all stating "it's a used car, sometimes it happens". At the very least they could have offered a discount at the service department for the transmission replacement. Be wary shopping here. read more

I left work an hour early just to make this appt. on time only to find that when I came in I was told it would take just a little over 2 hours to get my car in. I explained I had an appointment scheduled and she let me know she would try to get it in a little earlier. After figuring out that was not going to happen I left. What is the point of scheduling appointments when you do not honor them? If you own an Alfa Romeo, DO NOT bring your car here for service. Those service techs do not know what they are doing. I have been dealing with low engine oil level issues for about a year and a half now. The first time my low engine oil light came on my husband had put some oil in it and immediately the light went away. I decided to bring in my car to have it checked. At the time my car was still under warranty. Ryan Williams was my service advisor and honestly I don't have anything bad to say about him. He always called and left me messages with any updates on my car. He also explained thoroughly anything that was being done or needed to be done and the prices. He explained to me that because oil was added, that if they did find any issues it would not be covered under warranty. Of course that is understandable. They ran my engine for hours with a dye and could not find any leaks or issues. I received my car back and was told If the problem came back to bring it in right away. Of course I kept an eye on it for months and noticed gradually it was getting lower and lower. I brought it in before the light would turn on again. This was in March of 2022. My service advisor was Ryan again so he knew of the issue. It took them a while but eventually they diagnosed the issue as a timing cover leak. I had it fixed under warranty and got my car back. Fast forward to July 2022, and the engine oil light comes back on a third time. At this point I am frustrated because I thought the issue was resolved back in March. I had to have my car towed to the shop because I didn't want to risk driving it and ruin the engine. Ryan the service advisor took care of me a third time. It took them a while, again, but this time around I was told that it was a sensor malfunction. I have the issue fixed and I'm back on the road with my car. Fast forward to now April 2023 and the engine oil light comes back on a FOURTH time. Now I'm pissed. I refused to take it back to the service center in Kenosha because I was convinced those service techs know nothing. I instead brought my car in to Glenview Luxury Imports and the service advisor there called me within 2 hours of dropping off my vehicle that there was a TIMING COVER LEAK. Unfortunately my car is no longer under warranty and I have to foot the bill for a part that was supposedly FIXED at the Palmen service center last year in March! read more

Tera from the service department displayed discourteous and abrupt behavior when I contacted them to schedule a car service appointment. Upon requesting to speak with the manager, Mark, the call mysteriously disconnected. Subsequent attempts to call back resulted in the phone being answered, placed on hold, and then abruptly hung up. Eventually, I managed to connect with manager Mark, but the call was once again abruptly terminated. Unfortunately, they did not make any efforts to return the call. On the positive side, I appreciate the sales consultant being upfront with me via email. It saved me a trip to the dealership. On the down side, the dealership engages in sales practices that are simply NOT good for anyone including the dealership. I'm talking about forcing the customer to purchase the "Environmental Package" for $2,595. I call foul on that. I also say they are not being truthful when they say the package is applied to every vehicle when hits the lot. If that were true, they would not be able to trade vehicles with other dealerships, which happens all the time. I have a friend who purchased a RAM truck from a different dealer in Wisconsin. That dealership traded one of their trucks for one of Palmen's trucks because the truck on Palmen's lot was a better match of the features and color he wanted. Would not be able to do this if there was an Environmental Package applied to the truck. I think the Environmental Package is just an overpriced warranty that they are forcing customers to buy, and claiming that once it's "applied" it cannot be removed. Andy Palmen, if you are reading this, can you explain how a vehicle you claim cannot have the environmental package removed, but yet you are still able to trade vehicles with other dealers? This is a bad practice you are engaging in at your dealership Andy. My gosh, watch the movie Fargo if you haven't. I went for an oil change there because where I had gone before, also not my regular place, told me they couldn't change it because plug for oil pan the threads were worn, so I thought go to the dealer for my Dodge Journey. Palmen also told me the same & I would need a new oil pan if they removed the plug, which would have been close to $600 for replacement. I said no thank you! I took it to my regular place & they with no problem removed the plug, changed the oil and installed a new plug!!! Palmen is only out to get your hard earned money!!!! read more

I have never written a review at any dealership before for any reason, good or bad. BUT, this review has been earned, unfortunately. I recently brought in my 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia to Palmen Alfa Romeo for a flat tire and left with my car damaged. When I brought it in initially, upon arrival, I was surprised that the Alfa dealership only consisted of a somewhat empty building with big windows. There is NO specific Alfa Romeo servicing center. Instead, you have to bring in your car to the CJDR servicing building next door. A little surprising, but sure that's fine and don't have a problem with that. Because I had to order a specific tire and wait for shipping/receiving, I left my car there for the week. Now, Alfa Romeo is considered a luxury brand which means there's a higher standard of service one would expect. Just like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Porsche, Maserati, etc. With that in mind, that standard was not met here. In fact, it's safe to say I will never again be returning nor will I be referring anyone here in the future. I was without a car and needed a loaner vehicle and requested one like one would normally do at any other dealership, but if you want one from here you'll have to pay a hefty price of $40 PER DAY in order to be loaned one. Not even at Chevy, Ford or Toyota do they do that. Non the less, that's just unheard of at this level of standard. I've owned cars from Porsche, Maserati, Mercedes, Subaru, and even Jeep in the past and whenever I needed a loaner the dealership always made sure to have one ready for me at no additional cost. The standard was understood at those dealerships, not at Alfa Romeo Palmen. Anyway, prior to leaving my car in the dealership's hands I made sure to record a video of my tire/rim to document exactly what the tire/rim looked like as per past experiences. When I received my car back the following week I was upset to find that the rim had additional curb rash and large zigzag etching on the side of my rim. Not only does this devalue my vehicle, but it is also damaging my property. To top it all off, they didn't even wash my car and presented it to me dirty covered in dust. As you read this I need you to know and understand that I've worked as a porter, a salesman, and a service writer at a couple luxury dealerships so I understand the level of customer service required and the high standard our customers expect from us. That level and standard was not met here. When I spoke to the manager about this it felt like my only options were to deal with the damage or have it fixed by a specialist that only came to the dealerships on days that I unfortunately would not be able to bring my car in due to work scheduling. I asked if I could receive a loaner in the meantime but was denied one. I felt as if this was being made out to be my problem to fix on my own unless it was convenient to the dealership. This was not my problem to resolve as I'm not the one who created it. I am the one affected by it. At this point I was really upset with my experience as I felt stuck and felt like the dealership wasn't willing to work with me unless it was convenient to them. Again, the standard was clearly not understood here. I asked to speak with a higher authority and was asked for the video as proof that I was not lying. This is exactly why I always recommend documenting your vehicle/property before leaving it anywhere. Once the proof was validated and confirmed I was not lying, the director was willing to work with me and give me another option that was convenient to me. The customer should not have to go through this no matter the brand or quality of the vehicle in order to have a problem resolved. This review is a direct message to the owner as this experience reflects on you, your business, and the experience you allow your customers to leave the dealership with and express that to potential future customers they come across. read more

Horrible customer service! My husband made an appt to fix my car play. He called to confirm the appt. when he got there, he was told they didn't have him on the schedule. How could that be when the appt was confirmed? He asked if they could squeeze him in and they said no. He was not treated very well. They even sent him over to their other site to see if his appt was there, but it wasn't. The tech kept saying how busy and behind they were. My husband finally left. Want to get screwed by the sales and finance department com on down to Palmen. Not only did they try to swindle me into a car that I was not looking at, but they tried to switch prices on higher to make the car I did look even more expensive. I came into the building with a internet price of 23,500 that included the incentives. After speaking with a new sales person whom did not know anything about the extra incentives, he brought his manager who told me I did not qualify for half of them as the Palmen discount had hidden qualification that were not listed at all. I asked for the sales manager if he could show me the qualifications that he had mentioned and I was told that he does not have to provide anything at all, but could haggle on the price. I finally reached a good price with the sales man and the manager on a Jeep Cherokee to only hit a brick wall as the finance department totally screwed up my application. Both my wife and I have scores over 700 with an annual income of 105K, yet they said I can get a loan for 8.9%. When they told me that I started to laugh and told them to come back in couple min. I went online and applied for a Capital One Auto loan for the exact car matching the VIN number and it came back with 3.8% with a bonus that Palmen can offer that car for $500 cheaper. So I called the manager over and showed him the pre-approval and new amount I want to buy the car. He throw a child like tantrum and said I was not comparing apples to apples, even though I told him it was the exact VIN number of that car. That's when things got even better. Not only did he start to raise his voice, calling me a liar and a cheat. He kept telling me I was trying to scam the dealership and I would not qualify for a $1000 discount because I was not getting the loan from the dealer. At this point I told my wife to grab her stuff because this place wanted to cheat us out of money, upon walking out, two customers followed and asked him about the website I went to. At the end, the dealership lost 3 customers that day as they tried to screw over everyone who comes in by inflating the car prices as well as the interest rate. WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN ADDENDUMS! I found mine in the console of the truck. They quoted us a price, we accepted and then they added the "addendum". Not good business. Google says the "addendum" is a car dealers scam. Look it up. Why would any business want to scam their customers? I wrote this review about two weeks ago. I have since contacted Andy Palmen (owner) and he has resolved this issue for us. We were given a refund of the addendum and we were also given an apology for the misunderstanding. The service that we received up until we discovered the addendum was exceptional. When going to pick up our refund at Palmen GMC we were treated with nothing but respect. I made an appointment to come look at a car, I show up 1 hour later and the car 'has been sold'. Since I was already there, I looked at the other cars they had which were similar to the one I made an appointment to come see. I looked at another car, and after chatting I decided not to buy it that night. Regardless, I called back a few days later and they told me the car was still available. (Monday) I told them I will come buy it tonight, but it was already 8pm and I live an hour away so the dealership said oh don't worry, make an appointment to come buy it tomorrow. So I did, for 7pm the next day, Tuesday. When I spoke with the dealership on Monday about me buying the car, both the manager and salesman were involved and knew I had full intention to come buy the car... I thought that with their suggested appointment, that was clear. Tuesday morning I receive an email saying the car has been sold. The salesman claimed he was going to call me and take down credit card info for a deposit but 'he was too late'. If this is the case, why didn't he take down a deposit from me Monday night... Not sure how he was able to fail at his job that bad .... And clearly he doesn't know either because I asked him and he ignored my question. This dealership just plays the customers. read more

After the exact same symptoms as what I spent $1400 to repair a MONTH ago began this week, I called to schedule an appointment and specifically clarified that there would be no fee to take a look and determine if it was the same issue. Was told there would be no charge to look at it. Again I asked when I dropped it off and was told, "no, sounds like the same problem so there's no charge to look at it." There were in no way ANY exceptions made to these statements. After tech looked at it of course is diagnosed as a different, unrelated issue. And I was charged $133. If I had been told in any way shape or form that there were circumstances that I would incur and fee I would NOT have brought it in as I did not have the funds available for such. I will be filing a BBB complaint as I feel this was beyond bad service and actually a deceptive business practice. read more

Reviewing the oil change service: There's good and bad - The bad: despite having called ahead to reserve a time for a change, the attendants pushed my car to the back of the line and I'm currently looking at a 40 minute wait. Frustrating when I was expecting a quick change and now I'm trying to figure out how to rearrange my day. The change is pretty expensive at 32 dollars. Without a coupon, I would take it to Jiffy Lube. The waiting lobby is quite cold, I wish I would have brought a coat. It is also out of cookies and regular coffee. It's only 12 pm. The good: The waiting room has some pretty inexpensive vending machines, flavored and decaf coffee left and two small TVs. The bathrooms are oddly opulent when compared with the surroundings. The whole building seems to be kept pretty clean and I'm currently writing this review on their FREE WIFI. That was a pleasant surprise. In the end, I don't think the small amenities make up for a 32 dollar change,, but whenever they send me a coupon, I'll be back. read more
