I would NOT RECOMMEND buying or servicing a car with this dealership. I purchased a used vehicle here just a few weeks ago, and within days I noticed problems: noisy brakes, a faulty light bulb, and rattling from the underside whenever I went over speed bumps. The car came with a 3-month/3,000-mile powertrain warranty that was supposed to cover transmission, engine, and axle components. I was clearly told, "If anything happens, we'll take care of you." When I brought the car back in, the dealership tried to charge me $170 just to look at it before even deciding whether it would be covered under warranty. My sales rep checked with the manager, and the answer was the same: because I didn't buy the extended warranty, I still had to pay the fee. That's ridiculous. A warranty is supposed to cover you -- not come with hidden charges before they'll even lift the hood. I fully understand that a used vehicle will not be perfect, but demanding $170 simply to investigate potential safety concerns--while the car is supposedly under warranty--is misleading, unfair, and reflects poorly on the dealership's integrity. The sales staff were friendly, but this policy is shady and shows they care more about squeezing money from customers than honoring their word. His name Adam King . I don't know how he said this. And as expected they found nothing . I told them to compare to other the same car . They don't want to do it they just look by their eyes. Came here after hearing some bad noises and unsure of the problem. Bill in the service department couldn't have been more awesome! After dropping it off, he called me about an hour and a half later with an update. Some of the parts for my heat shield were available but not all of them. He would have to order the straps that attach the heat shield to the fuel tank and the work would be done the next day. Total cost approximately $500. Ouch! Literally, 45 minutes later he calls me back and told me they found the straps in salvage and that were perfectly good to use and the cost would be much less. In the end, my wheel alignment and the salvaged parts...$340 (with a $40 coupon). Still a good chunk of change but much more easy to swallow. It's recent short-term second owner discovered it was in an accident upon inspection, brought it to their attention, and Classic Toyota refused to give the customer's money back upon return, while only offering to trade out of the unsafe Lincoln for another car. Thank goodness for Classic Toyota. All of these years, I've been driving my vehicle without proper equipment - a penis. I can't believe the 150,000 miles on my 2006 RAV4 were all accumulated without the benefit of that extra appendage. How did I steer? How did I signal lane changes? But Jerry didn't want to risk that I would be smart enough to figure that out on my own, despite more than a decade of oil changes under my belt. No, he felt the need to not only talk over me on the phone when I called for an update on an unrelated issue -- he also treated me to a public chastising while he was helping another customer when I came in to get the car. I go in and I am asked what I am there for. I tell them I need new keys made. I am asked if I spoke to anyone. Um...no I did everything online. What is the point of setting an online appt if nobody bothers to check the appt log? So I am told that keys would need to be ordered for the service to be done. I've had my Highlanders maintained by Classic for over 15 years. The service group is exceptional. They have always treated me fairly. The service managers are always friendly and helpful. The recommended service has always been fair and necessary. I have only had to have one repair on my 2012 Highlander when the heat shields on the muffler system rusted out this year after 145K miles. I sent my wife in for an appointment (5000 service) service writer was Mohammed. She was told it wasn't due until 10,000. She left with a fresh oil change sticker saying it was due in 5000 miles. It would appear that the oil change had not been serviced , oil found to be dirty and at minimum on the dip stick just 400 miles after. So much for the Toyota Care experience at Classic. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! About a few weeks ago, I noticed my tire pressure light on and took my Toyota RAV4 Hybrid to a gas station and filled the tires up. The light stayed on. A few days later, I took the truck to a Walmart Tire shop and they filled my tires up. The light stayed on. I finally decided to take it to this dealership. After waiting for about an hour, the Technician said "I was good to go". I assumed they did all their necessary checks to make sure I didn't have a leak. I left and about a week later, the light came on AGAIN. I took it back to this dealership today and was told by one of the technicians ( with an KIA shirt on) that it sounded like I have a leak and I would have to wait "all day" for them to check it because their were several customers before me. I politely explained I was here a week ago and asked why the technician didn't check for a leak then and this tech shrugged his shoulders and said " I wasn't there". Very unapologetic! My point was, If your technician had done the necessary checks when I came last week, I wouldn't be here today. He looked at me like "Too bad too sad for me". I either wait or leave. I left. I drove to the Toyota Dealership in Libertyville and the service was like night and day. I was greeted IMMEDIATELY by a technician who took 5 minutes to check the pressure in each tire, sprayed water on the one with the lowest pressure and FOUND THE LEAK. I needed a new tire. It was on back order so He ordered one and made me an appointment for next week. Topped my tires off, washed my car and I was in and out in less than an hour all the while, there were just as many customers here as the one in Waukegan. Libertyville Toyota has better service and more competent technicians. I WILL NEVER GO TO TOYOTA WAUKEGAN AGAIN!!!!
