This place has true character that you can tell they have put their heart and soul into with taste and class saving this building from dereliction and destruction. This is definitely NOT a bored housewife weekend warrior type of B&B who has filled this place with a mismatch of unfitting antiques and Pier One chotchke. Having had to travel for a good part of my career I have stayed in many B& B's. This place will stay in my top 10 for sure and definitely hope to make the pilgrimage at least once a year. The hostess and her husband are amazing people and in the conversations had you can tell they are very genuine and have a love for the place. I can only hope that their children take up the same affection and continue on. It would be a definite loss for Jonesville and anyone who is not experienced it.

The guest innkeeper, Rachel was amazingly available for questions throughout our entire stay. Nice restaurants close by and if you enjoy antique shops, there is a complex in Allen, MI, about 5 miles away. No matter what time of year you choose to stay here, it will be worth the trip. I cannot wait to return to this destination.

However, no true British chippy would serve battered and shaped filets for fish & chips -- that was disappointing. I expected an authentic full-size, flakey cod or haddock stretched across a bed of chips with bits of crunchy batter everywhere. The filets were crispy and tasty, but not genuine English fish & chips. Our server was young and inexperienced (didn't know what a pale ale or IPA was), but was very attentive and cheerful. An older gentleman, who may have been the bartender, came to our table and gave us an oral history of the building, its owners and various quirks. The only drawback was all the stairs. It's not ADA accessible getting to and from the pub, where we had our reservations. There was a full flight of stairs to go down from the main floor. It was recommended that we leave through the back door to avoid the stair case. Outside, on the terrace, there were some low steps and no handrail to get to the path leading to the parking lot. No one using a wheelchair or walker can access the pub. The building itself, the decor, and outside grounds are beautiful. The gardens are lovely.

This place is so beautiful, majestic, and some of the nicest staff I've ever encountered! We went to the pub side of the restaurant and it was small but also the feel of walking into a pub in England! The staff was so courteous, knowledgeable, and on it!! I ordered the prime rib dinner and my friend ordered the fish and chips. You really felt like you were in England enjoying the amazing food! We opted out on desserts (we had dessert at the hotel waiting for us). I would highly recommend this place if you're passing through. Also you can walk the grounds, we did and we got to watch an outside wedding - beautiful. Highly recommend.
