The computer was showing several redundant overrides with multiple problems That's when they were finally able to diagnose the problem they are very efficient They do not want to just throw Parts at your car . I have had my not so new Ford Focus st worked on and smog checked at Brian Palmer's auto shop also my F250 diesel 4x4. The crew is knowledgeable and honest. Both my vehicles are old but low mileage. They are on top of the latest requirements and my specific situation. I trust them 100%; and that is a rare quality in Mechanics. I have noticed that Brian has a relationship with his customers, other mechanics are more adversarial programed just to drain money from your wallet. Not Brian. He is direct but not pushy. Was out of town and on a family trip with toddlers and 3 huskies when my jeep started overheating. Pulled over cranked up the heater and was able to make it to our destination. Yet I knew I needed fixed 911 as driving with it overheating could case bad damage to my vehicle. After checking with 2 other local mechanics with no luck on getting it even diagnostic tested as it was a Friday, I found this small business locally owned. Upon calling them, Owner was up front and honest said if I get it to shop he could at least check it and run diagnostic test. Got there and owner Brain got it in and tested right away sure enough thermostat needed to be replaced. He said it take 30 minutes for part to get there, explained he couldn't get a mopar thermostat in as they are on back order would have to be aftermarket one; I was just grateful he could get it repaired and the huskies and babies didn't have to ride running the heater full blast in already 100 degree weather 2.5 hours home. Thanks to Brain and his crew I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip without stressing off my jeep and problem fixed. I like to learn and observe by listening to someone explain how my car and its many complex parts function, so I was appreciative when Brian and his team went into detail about my car. Brian diagnosed the problem and went to work right away, fixing the vibration that had been plaguing my car for miles and getting me back on the road and back to work within a day. Tried to schedule an appointment through their online tool and was never contacted back. Called in the next day to talk to the shop. Spoke to Brian. Asked if I could describe the problem so I could see if they had the tools to diagnose issue. About a minute into conversation, Brian informed me that their shop policy is not to work on cars of "backyard mechanics". Super condescending attitude. Was not trying to get any free advice, just wanted to see if they thought they could help me. To me, it seemed more like they don't want to work on cars of people who know what is going on. The most honest, efficient and reasonably priced mechanic I've ever had. Brian has been taking care of our cars (all 5 of them!) for over 6 years and he always does great work. He clearly explains what is going on with the vehicle and all the options we have to repair it. He never "up sells" unnecessary work - he explains what we need to do to get the car back on the road, what we could do that would potentially prevent a problem in the future and gives his assessment of what would make the most sense. He is extremely trust worthy. When my daughters car broke down a few years back I was ready to pay the $600 to fix it and he advised me that I should really consider buying her a different car because it was likely that her car would need additional expensive work in the near future. The first time we had him work on one of our cars he repaired it for $700 after the dealership quoted me over $1300. Again today I had recall work done at the dealership (only because it's recall work and it's free at the dealership) and they identified a problem which they said would cost $600 to DIAGNOSE - not including any repairs- and so I had my car taken to Palmers Automotive where Brian diagnosed AND repaired my car for $800 (all new spark plugs and 2 fuel injectors!). I can honestly say that although car repairs are expensive and can hurt the wallet, I always feel happy spending my money at Palmers because I know I'm getting top quality service for a very fair price. AND they always get my car fixed in a very timely manner! No matter how extensive the repair it has never taken more than a couple days. This local, family owned small business will take great care of your vehicle and save you a ton of money as compared to other shops. I really can't stress enough how great they are! read more

He was a average business man for his time. 45 years later, and a ton of problems and ripoffs from auto repairs shops, I get lucky and stumble into a rare treat and happily discover that honesty and fair business men are still out there. I'm a disabled Viet Nam veteran on a limited income. As the owner was totaling up my bill he gave me a "vet discount" after discovering my journey's in life via small talk. I wasn't expecting this and as soon as he said, "you get a veteran's discount", I immediately thought of my uncle, and the ways he use to dream up to help people and make them feel "special". This shop was amazing! Pretty much knew exactly what was wrong with my car over the phone. When my car got there they fixed it in a very timely manner especially considering how busy they were! They ordered the parts and got it put back together as soon as they came in!! I was in quite the pinch being as this is my only vehicle so I really appreciated their hard work to get my car back to me as soon as possible. They were recommended to me by a friend and they have been great to work with every time since my first car mishap, so not only have I recommended them to all of my friends but to all of you as well.
