I've invested well over $100,000 with this dealership over the years, including the purchase of two vehicles valued at more than $50,000 each, as well as service work on multiple vehicles. That's why this review is so disappointing for me to write. Overall, I've had positive experiences with the dealership itself, but my experience with the service department has been frustrating due to ongoing communication issues. During my most recent visit, my vehicle was accepted on May 26, and I did not receive a meaningful update until June 1. I also had difficulty obtaining the diagnostic paperwork and had to follow up multiple times before finally receiving it. I was initially told the paperwork would be available when I picked up my vehicle, but that did not happen. One issue that contributed to my decision to seek a second opinion was the lack of clarity regarding the diagnosis itself. During conversations with the service department, I received what appeared to be a more specific explanation regarding the possible cause of the issue. However, when I eventually received the written documentation, the description was much more general and referenced only a complaint of blue smoke from tailpipe. The verbal explanation I received appeared more definitive than what was reflected in the written documentation. As a customer, I was left uncertain as to whether both were intended to convey the same conclusion. That lack of clarity made it difficult for me to fully understand the dealership's assessment and ultimately contributed to my decision to seek an independent evaluation. I appreciate that the dealership accepted my vehicle and did not charge me for this visit. However, the lack of communication and delays in providing documentation significantly affected my confidence in the service process. Because of these concerns, I ultimately had the vehicle towed to another repair facility for a second opinion. What was particularly frustrating was that when I followed up regarding my paperwork and other questions, I felt as though my concerns were not being taken seriously. After investing this much money with the dealership over the years, I expected better communication, better follow-through, and a greater sense of urgency when addressing customer concerns. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that neither my time nor my business was being valued appropriately. Note, Online pickup review only. Ah Palmetto Chevrolet, located across from Stella's Ice Cream in the town of Conway, SC. Before coming here to pick up a online order on Monday September 15th 2025, sometimes if we were at Stellas, we would look at the cars that are parked in front- eyeing the new equinoxes for instance. But We will look at cars in the future. Went here with my dad to pick up an item that he ordered online since he had some points to use. Not sure when he ordered it, but we picked it up, and there was no wait. Easy pickup as well- once we found the parts pickup building, which was near the front where there was a nice corvette parked. Only thing is the person who helped us seemed a little tired, and quiet. Important to be friendly. We also had to ask someone who was fixing a car where the parts pickup office was- and he was a little rude. But maybe he was busy and didn't understand. Easy pickup once we found the place, and hope to do business with them again soon! read more

So I have been waiting two weeks for a loaner car to become available so I could drop off my 2012 Corvette for a repair. I decided to call them and follow up on that and low and behold they sold the dealership to a new owner that decided if your car is older than 2016 which changed the VERY next day - older than a 2015 they will NOT work on it or touch it! They are a DEALERSHIP people!! My car is a show car and is kept in immaculate shape! I own 3 CORVETTES and all of them have been there for repairs! So I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS POLICY!! Letting all my Corvette folks know this is NOT OK!! So I asked where should I go to get this repair done? They referred me to a garage that DOES NOT do this particular repair! Way to go DEALERSHIP! Very pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews--the service was truly great! I really appreciate that in a pinch and needing to take a road trip, they were able to get my truck in for service quickly, provide air conditioning service reasonably priced since I was just out of warranty, and take care of recall and routine service instantly. The communication was great, turnaround fast, and they seemed genuinely interested in helping. I tried them out after other area dealerships, lacked availability, frequently canceled service appointment, and didn't seem genuinely interested in customer service. Will return. read more

I bought a used Tahoe from them. Had problems the day I drove it off the lot. They made an appointment for me to get it fixed. Three appointments later and nothing was done. They tried for over two hours to program a second key before they realized that it was the wrong key. My salesman Thomas has not followed up with me since the second key was finally done. The sales manager Mr. Rabon is the only one who tried to help me. He is the only thing I like about Palmetto Chevrolet. The service department doesn't know what they are doing. As someone who works from 7:30 to 4:30 M-F, it is difficult to accomplish tasks without taking time off of work when businesses essentially work the same schedules (no fault of the businesses). Yesterday, I had a day off from work. I scheduled an appointment with the service department at Palmetto Chevrolet to have my truck window motor replaced as it is no longer working. I scheduled this appointment for 10 am. Palmetto Chevrolet called me and asked to reschedule my appointment until 2 pm as they were booked up in the morning time. Again, I don't have many days off from work to fit this in, so switching until 2 pm was not a big deal as it needed to be done. I came in around 10 am and asked if I could leave my truck there until they were ready to work on it. The guy at the desk (didn't catch his name) said that was fine. I gave him the information about my truck and warranty. He said he would call me and let me know the estimate on how much it was going to be to fix it. I said that was fine and he could call me at whatever time. By 4:50 pm I had not received a phone call from them about my truck, so I decided to go back up there as I know they close at 5:30 pm. I approached the desk and asked the same guy if my truck was finished. He asked my name and looked up my truck. He initially couldn't find the information. By this time, I knew there was an issue. He then told me my truck had not yet been looked at as someone in there had not moved some cars inside the shop so he could get it in to be looked at. He said he left my paperwork on top, but that someone had moved it to the bottom of the pile. I could tell he was frustrated, but nonetheless, my truck had been sitting there all day and had not been looked at or fixed. I asked him, "So, I guess my truck won't be looked at today since you all close at 5:30?" He stated that was correct. A woman and a man were standing on each side of him, but none of them chimed in to try and help the situation. I then asked for my keys so I could leave since nobody had done their job. He retrieved my keys and said, "Sorry about that." I grabbed my keys and left. Not only is this terrible customer service as no one called me throughout the day to know it wasn't being looked at or that it was taking longer than expected, but no one there apologized for this (unless you count "Sorry about that." as a true apology). They didn't even ask me if I would like to reschedule the appointment. Obviously, I was not a priority or concern to them. They could care less about the customer. This was the first time I had been there, and it will certainly be the last. Again, I don't have many days off to get something like this accomplished without taking time off from work. I will now have to try and find another day I can accomplish this, but it certainly won't be at Palmetto Chevrolet Service Department. read more

I wish I could give them a negative rating. They botched a simple oil change and less than 1,000 miles later my engine nearly jumped out of the hood. They refused to take any responsibility and GM offered pitiful assistance to a substantial repair estimate. DO NOT give them any business, they just want to botch your basic maintenance so you return and get charged thousands of dollars in repairs. I will never buy or give GM my business as long as I live. read more

Terrible response to a mistake they made when rotating tires claims the sensors just "die" but it was just fine when I asked for a simple oil change and tire rotation. So I'm warning you don't go here before checking everything and make sure to take pictures because they don't take responsibility. read more

Where do I even begin? If it was possible, I'd give a negative started review. This company is so unprofessional and an absolute nightmare to deal with. I chose Palmetto as the place to take my vehicle after someone had side swiped my car, and this was a top rated place their insurance company offered to cover my claim. After going to Palmetto for my initial estimate appraisal on 4/12, I was told it would take approximately two weeks for all parts to arrive. I gave the shop plenty of time to get the parts in before calling in for a check up. I did not hear from the shop, the ENTIRE month of May, so I called first week of June. The tech who answered said they had received all my parts and they had been there for a bit and they were waiting for me to come in. How am I supposed to make an appointment when I haven't been told my parts have arrived? When I asked why I hadn't been contacted, no one could give me an answer. I finally got my appointment set for 6/22, when dropping off my vehicle, I was told it would be a week, week and a half TOPS. So I let that time pass, to again no contact. I reach out after a week and a half and am told that they are still not complete and they could not give me any answer as to when the work would be completed. The women who I had spoken to, said she would get information and call me back. To no surprise, I never heard back yet again. Finally I am told my car will be complete 7/13, the day comes and goes, to still hear nothing. So I call for yet another update, and I am told that the crew is waiting on a part to come in for them to be able to complete the work. Yet I was told all the parts were there back in June...? To make things even better, the following day, I am called at 4:53 to be told my car was FINALLY completed. Now keep in mind, the shop closes at 5! I asked if someone would be there late for me to pick up my car, I am then told by the "shop manager" that he is off at 5, and has other obligations to take care of, but if I give him time to call and make arrangements he could stay for a little bit over for me to get there. But of course I am called at 5pm, with bad weather, and heavy traffic I would have to fight just to get there and it would be easily half an hour or more, the guy definitely makes it known that it is quite the inconvenience for him. So I told him to not worry about it, and that I would get it in the morning. THE. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. Save yourself the time, money, and headache of dealing with this unprofessional, disrespectful, and arrogant staff. read more

Entire process was low pressure, easy to understand the necessary events to make sale happen. Everyone was very personable. I made an appointment a week prior for a windshield wipers motor recall at 8 am .I was told it was a 20 minute job. At 10 am my car was brought in , obviously they need to Google the word appointment .was told they are backed up , not a good way to start the day, had to cancel more important appointments that were made months ago , not a happy customer ! read more

I have always gotten decent service although it may take a few visits due the complexity of the computers on cars these days. I have a Volt took 3 visits to finally nail down the right module and they followed GM protocol ( I told them the screen was bad on the first visit But GM had the start at HMI module and work up to it) In the end fixed and happy. Literally the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. And I wrote a review about a dealer who quite literally told me off the day before I went here. My wife spent an entire day 5+ hours selecting and negotiating a fair price. First they mess up the way they processed our trade which to be honest they said they would eat that mistake and make sure we got the price they promised. Because THATS HOW THEY DO BUSINESS. We thought this was great but it gets worse. They then made a mistake when processing my credit and tried to tell me they were raising the price of the car from 300-360. When I told them that they made a mistake and not 15 minutes before this conversation they told me that they honor their commitments they tell me to take the 2000 dollars I gave them and spend it elsewhere. Their salesman clay did the best he could and even told us how he agreed with how obnoxious they were being by not honoring their agreement they literally put us in such a bad situation with no care trying to be deceptive or do bad business. Took my car to the service department while visiting friends in the area. Was quoted a price for a diagnostic for an electrical problem and decided to have it looked over. Later in the day they called and told me they wouldn't be able to get the parts in until after I'd need to leave town. I agreed to pay them for the diagnostic and would get the problem fixed later. When I went to pick up the car they charged me double the quoted price, and said "you have two problems with your car, so there are two charges." There was no mention of this when I agreed to have the car serviced. After I left I realized they even broke a screw cap off of one of my doors and didn't replace it! So I have now payed them double what they told me for them to not fix my car and to break something else. While the mechanics seemed knowledgeable it's obvious the customer does not come first here. If you make the same mistake I did and decide to have your vehicle serviced here make sure you are VERY CLEAR of the price before any service is performed. read more
