If you are looking for something fun to pass the time away adults or children this is it. They have so many choices of things you can do, which is to paint pieces already done, or paint canvases. My daughter I chose to paint cups. I love owls, so I was glad to find one. You choose your paints and just have at it. You only pay the amount of your item. Once you're finished, you leave it with an instructor who was actually great. They will put it in an oven to glaze and call you in about 4 days or less to pick it up. I can't wait to see the completion of our art.

The young lady was of good help and very honest and straightforward with the prices, and process .she was very helpful to the kids. They painted I even went in the store next door while they painted their pieces. I picked it up in less than a week. Everything looks good I will be visiting again prices are kind of expensive but they do have items that cheaper $5-$15.

went here to try it out since i see it every time i go to the mall, honestly loved the experience and will definitely go back! Everyone was super nice and helpful, the only thing is when my item was being fired it was fired too close to another item thus resulting in a chip but overall loved it so much and i can't wait to go again!!

I honestly don't know how this place is still open. It's always empty and the one interaction I had work an employee was not a positive one.

We had a ton of fun painting our ceramic pieces for a chill activity! I'm glad I saw this…read morerecommended by someone on TikTok because this wasn't something I would have spotted driving by. The art cafe mentions it's better to make reservations so we did about a week or two in advance. A table was set up when we got there but there were only 2-3 families in there when we were there. I can imagine it'd get a lot busier on a rainy day though, so I wouldn't risk not calling ahead. I think the charge for each person was $8, plus the price of your piece. I had seen some people say they thought it was a pricy activity, and without any prices listed online I was a little anxious about how much it could end up costing. When you get checked it you're told to pick a ceramic piece off one of the shelves, and there was so much to look at. They really do have so much; big pieces, small pieces, bowls, plates, mugs, figures, ornaments, decor pieces, etc. The smaller pieces can be pretty cheap, I think the small bowls me and my daughter picked were around $10, but most definitely under $15. My son picked out a little race car and that was was probably around $15. But I saw much larger pieces that were $30+. So this can most definitely be a cheaper activity if you keep is small and I think the $8 fee for supplies, glazing and firing your pieces is perfectly reasonable. After you pick your pieces you can pick your colors off a chart on the wall that shows what the colors look like once the whole process is done. This was a fun way to spend an hour or so, and I love the little bowl I made. The staff was friendly and checked in on us frequently. I was able to get a color refill at one point. They give you the pick up information on your receipt, the turn around time was about three days and I'm pretty sure I saw it mentioned on their site that they'll pack and ship it to your home if you won't be around long enough to pick it up. We will most definitely be back next summer, I can see this being a great yearly tradition!

I recently moved back to Summerville so I made the trip to North Charleston to get a few items. Overall this is pretty much like any other Hobby Lobby with one exception, which I'll bury somewhere in here if you keep reading. Walking in a week after the doors were unlocked for the general public, the experience is almost exactly similar to all other Hobby Lobby's; the space wide open yet filled with shelves of knick-knacks, art supplies, nostalgic themed items and many other items. The place is very clean and sterile while being well stocked and thoughtfully displayed, playing on the casual shoppers innate impulse shopping with "Oh I might need that one day" mentality. Therein lies my personal weakness as I headed back to the front to grab a cart to load up with items, I really didn't need but I could justify in my mind. I could drag the review out but, it's Hobby Lobby and you know what you're getting. Clean and safe stores with all sorts of items, and generally good employees. But that is one of the flaws of this particular store, the people were slow to respond and weren't well trained as they seemed to be missing a clue or two. While I'm ignorant of the inner workings I'd wager management isn't exactly up to par here. That said for the general public I don't think that would be an issue, just my knit picking. I'll end my review with it's not a bad store and it just needs a little TLC in terms of customer relations. Stop on by and take some time to relax and walk around a little and enjoy life while shopping.
