We ended up leaving because despite having had such a long time with the school, it became obvious to us at the end that we weren't valued as a family and that our little one wasn't truly seen as a whole person. We had one child start in the Bambini (baby) room just before COVID, went back after COVID and continued all the way through until starting Kindergarten. We had another child that spent a couple years here before just leaving this year. On a whole, Aspirations feels like a Instagram dreamspace - the Emilio Reggio style learning emphasizes the environment and it truly shows. As a parent, you know your child is surrounded by beauty. The art show feels special (although you eventually come to realize how much "teacher guidance" the final auction pieces actual reflect). The gala is also exciting and fun (when it happens). The playground is spacious and beautiful. Our years through Aspirations meant our kids have been in almost every room and in reflection there were great teachers and there were so-so ones and almost every year there was at least some unexpected teacher turn-over in the middle of the year. We ended up leaving because the first time we had any issues, we were surprised at the inflexibility of the administration and unwillingness to work with us. We requested that our little stay with friends in transitioning to a new class, shared the difficult family/life events that were affecting her and had the admin team tell us that they were not going allow her to change classes that despite the fact that the requested class was not yet being filled (they wanted to keep spots open for newer families/kids). Additionally, they weren't even willing to come up with a alternative plan (ie she could move to that class if someone transitioned out). The finality of "administrator knows best" was a slap in the face and made us finally look around and realize that this was one of the most expensive schools around, does not provide lunch, and its premium for the "extended care" (4-5pm where all extended care kids get placed with another teacher for that last hour, sometimes a different one daily) was not the standard everywhere.

You are not working side by side with the teacher so much as you are taking over for the teacher. They literally hand you a teacher's edition of a subject and expect you to without any training or education in it to be able to do exactly what the teachers are doing for the students. Actual teachers are trained all summer long and given so many tools after they gain their early education bachelors. The fact this school t the way they do so they can double up the amount of students each teacher can have is deplorable. Administration does not follow legal guidelines for special needs, accommodations and meetings. After multiple meetings, my daughter needed an evaluation further and was offered it. They never followed through and claimed later that they didn't know they were supposed to even do one. Wasted our entire year. Going to this school was absolutely pointless for my family and one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. I regret everything about finding this school. Unless you want to literally have a unpaid job brimming with expectations and lack of support do not bother.

The supervision rate is much higher here so we didn't have any drama. They were supportive of alternative curriculum on C track to cater teaching approaches to your kids' needs. And even though with C track a lot of the days they are home with me, they have on campus social events, clubs and field trips. The leadership at this school is phenomenal at making people feel like they are part of something and that they belong. Thank you so much for such a great experience. My son is 16 now and in all AP classes on his way to become a brilliant engineer. My daughter is 12 and exudes confidence both in school work and in sports. We are so lucky to have so many options locally and I'm grateful for the wonderful and well rounded experience my kids had at community. The school is small and the volunteer aspect is a huge plus. I volunteered for basically everything including book fairs, field trips, and in class events and it was a special experience filled with hard working staff and great kiddos and familes.

We have been coming to the Palomar College Child Development Center as soon as our daughter was 18…read moremonths old and finally eligible for this amazing early education experience. My son and daughter both now attend and we could not be happier. I came for a tour before my little one was even born because I had heard so many great things about it from other parents, many of them CSUSM professors just like me. The curriculum is play based, nature, and exploratory. This place was built for adventure and curiosity. I was glad that there were NO computers! And, no worksheets! Also, this is a *learning laboratory* with the Child Development Department at Palomar College -- so, lots of "hands on deck" and students conducting their hours with supervision. Their fresh ideas and close interactions with the kids to help with play and activities really enhanced the child-adult ration. Also, I liked that professors also visit the center to to supervise and grade the college students. You would think it would feel crowded but the yards are HUGE and lots of space for play. Room 1 is for the 18 month and older set. The classroom is attached to the main office and so you develop a a nice relationship with the office staff. (They are super busy but always very receptive and warm.) When it's decent weather, the shaded hilly yard is where the kids have snack, play, and do all sorts of activities. There is so much imaginative areas and nooks for reading or playing. Perfect. The Boy Scouts built a little river in the yard that the teachers run water through on hot days. My kids now always want to visit the Room 1 area because of their fond memories. I loved the photos we received from the teachers -- our daughter in water play and also lounging with friends on a blanket outside. Perfect for their age! Room 2 seems to be for kids who are on their way to potty training -- maybe two and three year olds. The two main teachers are nurturing and fun. They have a ton of experience and have a great program for the kids. Our daughter has really learned about friendship, conflict management, and communication. Through Room 1 and Room 2, the kids seem to be learning counting, colors, and letters but all seamlessly through play. My daughter has a developed a love of doing puzzles in this classroom. So cool. Room 3 is where my son started at 3.5 years old. A great classroom space with a loft and lots of tactile stations. My son seemed to really learn so much from the reading and games they played. This yard is also an amazing "lab" for them to explore plants and insects. The teachers -- in all the classrooms -- really follow the interests of the kids. The old trees have caterpillars doing their "chrysalis" (sorry for the non-technical use of this!) and so the kids are watching butterflies be created. Again, so cool. The teachers are awesome and super experienced. (While we waited for my daughter to turn 18 months, he was at two different schools, CSUSM and a Montessori, which were both fine but - for us - not as fabulous as Palomar.) Rooms 4 and 5 are the last rooms and have pre-kindergarten aged kids. Once again, lots of exploring, science, art, and reading. Another amazing yard with a trail/track to ride and lots of grass for tumbling. My son is there now and we love the things he is learning. They do math as it emerges in the play-based activities; he knows how to do simple adding and subtraction. (We do not do any of this math prep stuff at home!) We realize that he is already nicely prepared for kindergarten - both the social and academic. Cost --- Each month, the tuition is a bit different because they charge you by the days there are in the month that your child attends. Palomar College students and community members across North County can enroll their kids. (The parents who are PC students have different fees and have to work with the office as to their school and study schedules. Community parents decide on full day - 5 days a week OR some combination; I think you cannot do half days if you are not a student.) For us, the diversity of race, ethnicity and abilities at the center is exactly the learning environment we want for children. And, as we enroll son in kindergarten this year, it was nice to hear from educators and the elementary school office that they really admired the work of the center (as in "oh, that is a good daycare!"). Sorry this review is so long but I wanted to give our perspective on this wonderful developmental setting. :-)

this center is amazing!…read more I've come here to do observations for my child development classes and they are so friendly and love anyone who comes to their center to help them out or just even to see how things are set up there. they currently have three males working there, one in each one of their buildings, and I think that it is awesome that they have male working in this setting along side with the children that attend there. all the teachers teach with a hands on method and let the children provide their own independence. this is an amazing center, and I will totally bring my children here, when I have my own!!

Amazing Staff and pre-school!…read more I love this Preschool! They have amazing teachers, who teach the children to love, respect ad make good choices. A little over a year ago I was searching for the perfect pre school for my son. I am so happy I had the opportunity to visit and enroll my son. Koehn loves the teachers and he says his favorite is Mrs. Candice :) He has shown so much growth and I love that he shares his knowledge with the world. When people ask him why he is so smart he says "well I am a big boy and I go to Noah's Park Preschool!" He always shares what he learns and enjoys going to school. I can't put into words how grateful I am to have such a strong director over seeing Noah Park Preschool, who engages with the children daily. The classrooms are always kept neat and clean. The projects and schedule for curriculum, makes me feel at ease that my son is left not only in good hands, but in the best! Everyday we get a sunshine report, to tell us what we learned and how my son's day was. I appreciate the communication level between parents and the teachers. It is important for me to build a relationship with the staff whom I a trusting my son life with. No other preschool he has been too, provided the care and communication level like Noah Park Preschool. For that I am so grateful! I wish they offered more grade levels for enrollment so that my son can continue to strive under their care.
