A little off of the beaten path (and by beaten path, I mean touristy streets like Las Ramblas)...but not too far away. I have been to Palosanto twice (on different trips to Barcelona). If/when I am fortunate enough to visit there again, I hope that I can get to Palosanto for another meal. There is nothing fancy or over the top about this place...it's just good food in a lively atmosphere at reasonable prices. The menu is fairly standard for the area...the burrata salad is really good. So are the croquettes. Will it be the best meal you eat in Barcelona? Probably not. Will it be a place where you think " we should go back here"...probably so. read more

This is a great restaurant! We are staying in the hotel next door and we were lucky this place was there. They have a great patio that opens to a square on the backside. Service was excellent and fast. All the food was amazing, we loved the mussels! They have seating inside too and a full bar. Highly recommend. read more

This place was very good with standard service and care! The shrimp was to DIE for the seasoning were really something special however the portion was a bit small. OUTSTANDING FOOD!! The best sangria i had the whole trip. I am so thankful we stumbled upon this small tapas on our walk from Las Ramblas. Loved the outdoor seating across the street from the restaurant and being among all the action in the rambla! One of our favorite places we went to in Barcelona! We were lucky to be staying at the hotel next door and even came twice! But, I would recommend it even if it's not as convenient. We had excellent rice (paella, but it's not called that here), and these were our favorite patatas bravas we had on our whole trip to Barcelona. They weren't fussy, but had the traditional sauce and were super fresh and crispy. The service is also super friendly and efficient. Amazingly at 9:50pm on a Thursday we were able to walk right in and get a table on the patio. Come here for great chill vibes where plenty of locals are coming to eat!! read more

Nasty experience. The place was hopping with clients on the plaza. Manager was terribly rude and the service was horrible. Two of the 4 things we ordered arrived way too late, then after way too much time, the 3rd item arrived. We asked about our order and the waitress/ manager was very rude. Waited over 45 minutes for the 4th item and again were treated rudely when we asked about it. Decided to leave and go elsewhere. This was a very disturbing experience and the first we have had in our more than 10 visits to Barcelona. Really poor experience and I would not go there again. Nasty service. read more

One of the better restaurants I visited during my vacation in Barcelona. The restaurant is nestled on the Gothic Quarter, making it a real treat to walk through in the evening. The restaurant itself is quaint, and mixes modern with classic art. The decor was my favorite. As for food, it was traditional tapas, so we ordered several items from the menu. The pork shoulder was good, but I couldve done without the potatoes. The eggplant was my favorite- you could taste all of the flavors. I also really enjoyed the grilled calamari. Going on my second week in Barcelona during a w month stay. This restaurant happens to be downstairs from my rental. So far we've been here twice. My only complaint is the sangria is weak and has a ton of ice. The food has been good both times. Bravas are good. Mussels were good as well. Paella was decent, but not wonderful. Calamari was decent as well. If in the mood for a burger the burger is good too. Croquettes were good, but too similar to other places which makes me think they all buy them and don't make them. Olives were just fine. Eggplant was good, but still deciding if like them enough to get again. read more

If I had to go back to one restaurant in Barcelona, this would be it. Casual but chic ambiance, attentive service and reasonable prices are all good reasons, but the real reason is that the food is terrific: amazing grilled calamari, the freshest ceviche, tangy green peppers and the most delicious fried anchovies ever. It was easy to get an early reservation, and there seems to be plenty of outdoor seating in the courtyard behind the restaurant, though we chose to sit inside. This chicken croquettes were freshly fried and crispy. My daughter, who claims to not like eggplant, actually enjoyed the fried eggplant with honey. The burrata cheese and fig salad did not fail to disappoint; the pesto sauce was a nice touch. One of our favorite dishes was the streaky bacon, David Chang-style. We are big fans of David Chang so we had to have this. We were in heaven. This dish is reminiscent of Peking Duck without the duck. Don't miss this!! The tuna belly with tomato and cucumber was OK, not that memorable. (The tuna actually tasted like canned tuna.) Bread with tomato sauce was a hit; the bread was crispy and warm. We loved the salmon tartare. By the time our last dish came, the cod confit, we were full but still enjoyed the dish. We were not tempted by the dessert menu and decided to pass. The eggplant with honey is thinly sliced fried and gone too fast. The chicken wings came right off the bone and was herbal-ly (is that a word) seasoned - notes of tarragon and Rosemary.
