They have a wide variety of candies, unique items you won't find elsewhere. Some of the stuff is too unique and I suppose people don't want to try it so we have found from time to time to purchase an expired candy and find out later. It's a pretty neat place, they could use some friendlier workers and to unload their stock. Getting around the store with a stroller when the floor has boxes everywhere needing unloaded was annoying today.

My husband found a strawberry Charleston Chew and I was taken back to Junior High in Michigan. Might have been the last time I had one. Speaking of Michigan Faygo is available! Red pop, Rock N Rye, all the favorite. My kids were like a kid in a candy store...wait.... Ok literally "A kid in a candy store!" They picked out their must haves. 2 each and a drink. Great stuff, I wish they had prices posted or something. That was the one bad thing. Totally worth checking out. That Charleston Chew was pretty great while sitting on the couch watching Halloween. Kind of like the 80's all over again! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a bit of nostalgia!

As soon as you walk in to the store you are transported to a magical land of candy. You can find one of a kind sweets and candy you haven't seen since your childhood. Aunt Laurie's carries a wide variety of confections including house made chocolates, nostalgic favorites like moon pies, pop rocks and wax bottles, novelty candy like gummy Lunchables, candied nuts, taffy, fudge, truffles, rock candy, chocolate roses, caramels, popcorn, and children's toys and beanies. The candy may be filled with sugar but nothing is sweeter than Aunt Laurie who wants to be everyone's favorite Aunt. She greets you with a silver tray of candy because you are family and no one can walk around her store without eating candy. I wanted to purchase a chocolate dipped pretzel covered in Rolos and she insisted on gifting it to me along with a freshly dipped chocolate covered Oreo. I had to insist on buying something so I purchased a chocolate dipped pretzel covered in Snow Caps. The chocolate dipped treats were amazing. I wish I had gotten more but I had a long day ahead of me in a hot car. Next time I visit I will be sure to bring a cooler. Auntie Laurie also does gift baskets and party favors. If your child is celebrating a birthday be sure to bring them in to visit Aunt Laurie for her special love and attention. The candy is wonderful but just being around Aunt Laurie is enough to put a smile on your face.

I grabbed a few things, the person helping me was friendly but didn't really know what was the chocolates they were selling. I asked for what looked like it was a light caramel chocolate covered pretzel and she said it was caramel however it was peanut butter. That was a bummer! They do have ice cream as well but it looks very processed and full of food coloring. The chocolate tasted decent compared to other chocolate shops. The pretzels were also fresh, I did grab white chocolate covered cashews and those tasted old. We got about maybe 5 chocolates for $8.00

It's a good drive from where we live and I usually stop if I have other things in the area the vet we use is near here And sometimes I combine it with a trip to them, but this time was after a medical appointment. This is a really long building and when you first stop in, you might think there are multiple businesses, but it's all open inside with one store. Every time we stop here the people working are friendly and helpful. They always have free samples on some of the candies and occasionally on some of the Preserves that they sell. I'm a big fan of their jellies, jams, preserves, and conserves and more. On this occasion, we picked up an assortment of their candies and a couple of jars. One is a raspberry jalapeño jelly and the other one is a blueberry conserve. These are both new ones for us to try and they both sound delicious. I like shopping here because you get to support a local business and everything is tasty. The places well lit and always clean. If you're traveling, they also provide shipping on many of their products. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area.

Dundee is a small Central Florida town along the Lake Wales Ridge, 50 miles south of Orlando and 30…read moremiles from Kissimmee. This is where you will find the most uniquely Florida candy store. Back in the early 1900s T. W. Davidson grew oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines near Dundee. In the 1960s his son, Glen, planted his own citrus groves and started Davidson of Dundee. Glen had a career with the large candy companies up north. In Florida he created his own version of the citrus candy, based on a recipe his mother used to make with sugar cane and citrus juice. He used the fresh juices from his groves so the candy retained its full citrus flavor. Davidson of Dundee is now run by Glen's son, Tom Davidson. The candy company has been featured on the Food Network, Fox, CBS, ABC, and has also been featured in Smart Money and Southern Living magazines. The process of making delicious jam and candy starts in their own 200 acre citrus orchard where they grow Valencia oranges, tangerines, and key limes. The harvested fruit is then taken into the kitchens at Davidson where the it is cut and juiced. Jelly is made from juice, jam contains the pulp, and marmalade contains the peel. None of the fruit goes to waste. The juice is also used in the candy. You can watch the process from the large glass windows. Whole fruit is shipped to people all over the country. One of the highlights of a visit to Davidsons is the free samples. Tom still makes the citrus flavored jelly candy his dad created but he has also experimented with new flavors. You can buy the candy in small bags or in different gift basket combinations. In addition to the jam, jelly, spreads, and candy, Davidson also sells chocolate alligators, tea, sauces, dressings, and Florida souvenirs. I couldn't resist the pecan logs and strawberry delight jelly candy. If you can't make it in person they have an online store.

It's located on the second floor of the casino space and easy to locate. If you're wondering, the parking garages that are closest to the restaurant are Lucky Street and Winner's Way at the 2nd Floor/Casino level. After walking into the casino, it's a straight shot to the Sugar Factory as it's hard to miss with its bright and dazzling lights. The Sugar Factory takes a super playful approach at the dining experience as it truly makes everything a photo op. From the physical restaurant to the food itself, the patron is immersed in a "gram"-rich environment (light weight mad that the food here is more photo-genic than I am). It appears to be great for large groups and parties/celebratory events. There is a small candy/sweets section from where you can purchase those delectable morsels by the pound, along with other small trinkets. The menu is similar to other bar/grill-type restaurants (comparable to a BJs and even the Hard Rock Cafe). One main difference is in the focus that they place in their dessert/sweets section. The smoothies and ice cream go hard when it comes to flare and accoutrements (as mentioned before, they look more like art work than food itself). These treats do run on the sweet side... (4th wall break - c'mon look at the name). So, if you want to do it for the gram bring yourself and/or the group to the Sugar Factory at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Tampa!
