There is nothing special about the coffee here. Regular size latte and macchiato drinks are around $7 when they add $1 for whipped cream. Not understanding the extra charge for whipped cream when the picture on the window shows it and the price on the board doesn't indicate an upcharge. The picture of latte on the window shows two pieces of chocolate on top of whipped cream. But ours didn't come with chocolate and we joked how expensive that extra charge would be. Bottom line you aren't getting what is advertised and they should advise you of the upcharges before committing. A few sips and I was done and disappointed. The shop is at the tail end of Wiregrass Mall right in front of Dillards. Couch and 6 tables to sit at inside. Outside are three tables with umbrellas and metal chairs. The lady, assuming the owner, was nice and helpful with a couple questions. She speaks in a French accent so that is authentic. They also have gelato, pastries, macaroons and milk shakes; all a bit high to help offset the high rent at a mall. read more

Macarons make a terrific special treat as they are naturally gluten free and can also be dairy free depending on the filling. Sugar is another thing so it was a rare treat for us to share a few. I love all the flavors of the macarons but I actually come here for the pistachio eclairs. They are unreal. The brownie truffle was okay, it almost tasted like a fruit or almond flavor was hidden in it (not my cup of tea). Lastly, I tried the roasted marshmallow coffee, which was fantastic! Cute shop, employees behind the counter are always so pleasant. I have visited this shop multiple times and can definitely say everything we've had has been great. While searching for a place at home here in north Tampa with similar offerings, we decided to give Le Macaron store a try. Just as authentic!!! And that's exactly what they did. Located in Wiregrass between HWY 56 & Bruce B Downs, this French dessert shop opened to rave reviews. It's a very "French" shop-- complete with chrome, pink, & a wall hanging of the Eiffel Tower. There are signs throughout w/ info on all the cake pops, cookies, colorful macarons, smoothies, gelato, & everything else specifically made to add sweetness to our lives. (There's even a No Sugar Added vanilla gelato that is very good.) The female owner Valerie (pictured) was so down-to-earth. She answered my many questions w/ a smile. Unlike some French-owned businesses (that I've personally visited), here there was no arrogant tone. She was genuinely friendly. This is a clean shop w/ wonderful creations to satisfy a sweet tooth. It was my first time in this french dessert spot this past weekend, and my family and I really appreciated what this shop has to offer. We ordered their french macarons, which were really better than in Paris! We then had a caramel macchiato, and an iced pumpkin spice latte, which was made by a big lavazza espresso machine. The staff working there were really friendly, the owners I believe. They explained their story when they moved from France to America to open this beautiful store. I fell in love with this shop. What a wonderful place for a nice treat. My family and I came in on a Sunday afternoon looking for a sweet treat for my toddler... and we struck gold. My wife ordered the triple chocolate ice cream cookie sandwich, my daughter got a cake pop and we shared a small box of macarons. There are a number of different flavors of macarons. My favorite was the raspberry. The macarons have that wonderful crunch when you bite into it and great flavor. If I remember correctly, the exchange went something like this: Me: Hey, there's a new macaron place at the Wiregrass Mall. I'm interested in checking out. I saw it featured on some fitness blog the other day. You want to go? J-Fur: Baby, tired, Bruster's, grumble grumble. Normally J-Fur doesn't turn down sweets so I was a bit taken aback when my suggestion was met with resistance. I didn't bother bringing it up again. Instead I decided to sneak off and visit the shop myself. I entered Le Macaron French Pastries and immediately caught sight of a sign that said "Happy Macaron Day." Hmm...perfect timing. The man behind the counter greeted me with a "Bonjour" and then proceeded to tell me a little about macaroons. He said they are the finest pastries that France has to offer, that they are little cakes made from almond with icing in the middle. He thanked me for stopping by on national macaroon day and then left me to peruse the desserts at my own pace. At this point I turned my attention to the cases in front of me. One had all kinds of ornately designed chocolates, the other a bevy of colorful macarons. Seeing as it was national macaron day I ignored the chocolates and focused only on the macarons. There were so many different macaron flavors to choose from that I wasn't even sure where to begin. I knew J-Fur was into chocolate so I started there. I ordered a Belgian chocolate, sea salt and caramel, a passionfruit and dark chocolate and a raspberry. I was intrigued by the lavender and the basil so I asked for those two as well. Six macarons in all, totaling 13 dollars (Le Macaron is definitely not cheap). By the register, they had a display of Pan Au Chocolat so I got one of those for J-Fur as well. All told, I spent seventeen dollars in Le Macaron. I brought my bounty of desserts home and handed them to J-Fur. She bit into the passionfruit macaroon and exclaimed "These are amazing. The macaroons I had in the past must've been really bad because I remember not really liking them." So that's where the resistance came from. J-Fur wolfed down the remaining macarons and the Pan Au Chocolat. The macarons were sweet but not overly so. The flavor of the cakes were subtle, enough to know they were there but not so much that it overwhelmed. This was especially important for the lavender and basil as too much of those would've been problematic (the basil was excellent, by the way). Inside, the macarons were creamy and offered just the right amount of icing. The cake part of the macaroon felt crispy on the outside but was super soft once you bit into it. I loved the variety of flavors that Le Macaron offered. There were options for the fruit, vanilla, coffee and chocolate lovers. There were also off-the-wall flavors like basil, lavender and rose for someone looking for something a little more adventurous. I think it is safe to say that I won't be returning to Le Macaron French Pastries...alone. J-Fur is already planning her next visit (Black Currant anyone?). read more
