First one is around 7 years ago when I need to fix my transmission on my 1998 Honda Accord. The transmission was overhauled. I drove more than150,000 miles with no problem. I still have the Honda. Recently, I had a problem with my 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL transmission. It did not go back in reverse. I was only able to drive forward. So I took it to Don's Transmission for a repair. It was overhauled. It has been more than a year and I do not have problem with it. His price is very reasonable. He is a honest mechanic. It is not easy to find a honest mechanic whom you can trust. When you have transmission issues, you can be sure that he will take care of you.

Communication was clear and direct and they even showed me the horrible state my breaks and rotors had been. My only complaint was the exspensive cost I had to pay because I used a card for my method of payment. I was qouted $899 however because I didnt have cash I had to pay a processing fee which was a ridiculous amount bringing my total to $932. A person not being told that prior to service is very upsetting to shell out extra money because I didnt pay in cash seems unfair. Please explain to your patrons the difference or give the rates for cash vs card up front as this would help people decide if it is financially doable. Regardless I feel minus the extra fees on my car I will continue to return but will only pay cash .

The repair bill was far less than the other shop and I don't know how long I would have been without a car. The car gave me trouble after I got it, so I took it back. The mechanic looked at it and told me it was an air flow problem. I am very familiar with that term. The part was cleaned and I was told it might work, and it did for 2 days. I found a repair shop that was fair and the car seems to be running fine now. I don't blame the repair shops, my car is a problem car, but its the comfort and ease of getting into it that has me going to repair shops ,very few cars are senior sensitive.

After oil change was done, they did a free multi-point inspection and sent me a comprehensive report - including pictures to prove the inspection was actually done. They told me about an alignment that needed to be done, and was very honest about the situation. They said it's not a huge emergency to fix yet, but I decided to do it anyways to save another trip to the mechanic. They did the alignment in another 2 hours and picked me up when it was done. I had a very disappointing experience with California Transmission. I came in looking to swap Chevy Astro transmission and the high selling point with California transmission would be completed in a one day turnaround. However, unfortunately, I found myself having to call the shop multiple times for an update, and we're constantly hesitant to update me. In the end up having to wait three days to get my vehicle To make matters worse, they failed to properly reconnect my oil dipstick to the engine block, which is a basic but critical oversight. I know that mistakes are common, however, granted to the fact that Israel emphasize how professional they are 25 years of experience, I am surprised something like that went unnoticed so I went ahead and give them a call today and after the vulgar conversation, he gave me I decided that I ultimately had a write a review.
