Excellent service through and through. I called in for a standard oil change for the next day, first thing in the morning and they were able to accommodate. They offered free shuttle service (drop off and pick up), which was really nice as well. After oil change was done, they did a free multi-point inspection and sent me a comprehensive report - including pictures to prove the inspection was actually done. They told me about an alignment that needed to be done, and was very honest about the situation. They said it's not a huge emergency to fix yet, but I decided to do it anyways to save another trip to the mechanic. They did the alignment in another 2 hours and picked me up when it was done. Yesterday, we brought in a vehicle we had purchased from a dealership for an inspection. We decided to give Shige's another chance and booked a same day appointment. Cruz was extremely accommodating to squeeze us in even though they were booked. We are so grateful to have given them a second chance. The following is why: Cruz and the service technicians at Shige's found that the car we purchased was considered in very poor condition with more than 20 problems that would have cost us $6000+ in repairs. Luckily we purchased from the dealership what is called a CCOA, or a Contract Cancellation Option Agreement. It is a contract which gave us the option of returning the car within a 48 hour window. This is a requirement in California of all car dealerships to offer this contract option to customers purchasing a car, typically a used car, that is purchased for less than $40,000. Our purchase was under $10,000. Well, we did the return of the car to the dealership in less than six hours, well within the 48 hour window. A full refund, less the cost of the non-refundable fee for purchasing the CCOA contract option, is pending from dealership. A huge thank you to Cruz, and to John the owner of Shige's. You saved us from making a very costly car purchase. This service was comped to us to make amends for our previous experience with Shige's for service of our other vehicles. Thank you for doing this for us. It shows us that you truly indeed take great care of your customers. I was more than happy to write this five-star review on Yelp. Shige's always provides excellent service when I bring in my vehicle. Diana, one of the service managers, left me a voice message about a month after I had brought in my RAV4 for service. She invited me back to have the recommended work items done that the shop had told me about and had shown me pictures of back in April (front lower control arms and front sway bar end links had some badly work out bushings). I called her back and made an appointment. I really appreciate their complimentary drop off and pick up service. Thanks to Yelp. I know Yelp isn't perfect but when you see a car repair place with 130 reviews and a five-star rating, you have to figure it's a good bet. So even tho it's almost a half-hour from where i live I thought I'd give it a try. (Two places closer to me couldn't identify the problem and actually I don't even know if they understood the problem.) I called ahead to say, "Look, someone needs to get in the car with me and go for a short drive before I leave my car there.. I need to know you understand the problem". They said no problem. I got there and the place is so clean in the bays and the office and parking lot... impressive. Well, it costs manpower to keep a place that clean and that probably means they are charging a bit more... the told me the inspection would be $189. That didn't seem too bad since the first two place couldn't even identify the problem. Final bill was like $500 (including the inspection) but the problem was fixed. They drained the differential fluid and refilled... sounds basic but I'll bet the Audi dealer would have found a way to bill me over a grand by the time they made up other bullshit. They (Andrew, Brian and Francisco) also looked over the car and gave me the heads-up to some other issues to keep an eye on and got one of the tire pressure warning lights back to normal. As usual... it's personnel and vibe that make the difference between 4 and 5 starts and this place was great on both counts. read more

Great guys, great service! I needed to get work done on my new 4Runner. Safe to say I'll be coming here for all maintenance going forwards. I knew walking in the door that this was a good mechanic. The facility is clean and well-maintained so you know the shop takes pride in their work. The service advisors were kind and respectful and the waiting area is well stocked with water and coffee. Work was done very well and efficiently, got my inspection, oil change, and driveshaft serviced all within 1.5 hours of dropping off my keys. Prices are very competitive. My AC unit didn't seem to be blowing as cold as usual during the last heatwave and I was driving out to Vegas so I decided to get it checked out. I usually go to Autoplex but they were booked up and wouldn't be able to help me before my trip so I called Shige's. My friend had recommended them and we had them do some work on my wife's car before when Autoplex was booked up so I knew Shige's does quality work. They do tend to run a bit on the expensive side but they are no nonsense and do work correctly so I had no qualms about taking my car there. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. They were able to diagnose my AC system quickly and found it just required a good cleaning and that it was functioning correctly. Everything done in less than a day. I was impressed with their offer to call an Uber to take me home if I needed that service. It is offered as long as your destination is within a 5 mile radius. They pay for this service. Fortunately, my wife was able to pick me up so I didn't need to inconvenience them. Shige's is an excellent shop that is even trusted by Gardena PD to service some of their vehicles so that's a pretty good endorsement. If you need a trustworthy mechanic in the South Bay, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shige's to you. read more

Shige's Auto Service is the type of business you can depend on their service work and professional staff. I was referred to them by my cousin that lives in the community and his father was a auto mechanic for a major bank. He praise the work and personnel of the company. I have a Toyota Sienna 2012 and the timing case seal developed a oil leak and they have to remove the motor to reseal the timing case cover. This is a major job and I wanted to make sure the company I have do this type of work on my engine had the experience and technicians certified to perform this repair. Being a referral and first time customer I could not have had a better experience with Shige's. My first call to explain my issue with my van I spoke to Diana the service advisor. Immediately she spends the time to listen and give you all the necessary information you are inquiring about. She cares about helping you and to make sure all questions are answered in a professional manner. Andrew the service manager is a pleasure to work with. He will answer any technical questions and makes sure all the repairs are done as quoted. They are very detailed in giving diagnostic reports, and estimate quotes. The repair facilities are clean and organize with all the equipment to perform repairs. After the engine repair was completed in a timely manner the work was excellent and all repairs were done as quoted. They will go that extra mile to make sure the customer is completely satisfied with the repairs. This is how you build a relationship with loyal customers. I've been going to Shige's for my Honda CRV for many years now. They are hands down the best in town. They are extremely professional, knowledgable, trustworthy and kind. It's clear they take pride in their work and care about the work they do as well all their clients. I've mainly worked with Andrew (Advisor) who is a true professional, friendly and goes out of his way to explain what work is recommended, why, and how. Andrew and all the guys there go above and beyond to answer any of my questions or concerns. I went to them first with a list of work the Honda Dealership told me I needed and they told me I didn't need most of it and they were right. I always feel relief after leaving my car with them because I know I have a renewed feeling of safety when I get back behind my wheel of my car -- you can't put a price on that, especially in business where customer service is subpar and can feel left unsure of the quality of work that was done to your car and if it was necessary in the first place. My dad had been bringing his cars here for years, and my family followed him here (he's 95 and doesn't drive much any more). We brought my son's 2013 Prius in for maintenance this week, but they called my dad to approve the estimate instead of me - $4700! My dad is deaf, which the staff knows after dealing with him for years. They padded the estimate with completely unnecessary things for a 12-year-old car, like a $600 tire pressure monitoring system, and got my dad to 'approve' all of it. He had heard the estimate as $400. Interestingly when the car was ready and Shige's wanted payment, they called me, not my dad. I felt they acted unethically and told them so. Andrew clearly felt bad and said he'd call John, the owner to see if there was anything they could do, but John said they did nothing wrong and refused to do anything. Shige's may not have done anything illegal, but it sure was unethical and morally dubious. read more

First of all, Shiges Premier Auto Service is the by far cleanest auto repair facility I have been to. They are thorough and fast for the amount of work I had done. You get photos of what needs to be repaired along with your estimate by email and text. They close at 5 but they waited till about 5:30 for me to pick up my repaired car. They are also very friendly and patient in explaining what repairs were needed. I wish I had found them earlier. read more

I would like everyone to know the owner John is a fraud and takes advantage specially if you are a woman. Take your car elsewhere, unless you are willing to waste your money paying them to damage your car. He had my car for almost 2 weeks and couldn't fix the problem and still damage a part of my car. He used aftermarket parts when I paid him for original parts. At first he said he was a certified and works on German cars but that was a lie. I don't understand how he remains open. I'm definitely letting know my family, friends, and my customers not to go there. I do customer service and manage a business. The difference is I don't take advantage of my customers. In order to have loyal customers, you take care of them not ripped them off. He argue he didn't have the tools necessary for my car. What kind business is he running without the proper tools. The clutch assembly on my 2005 Corolla needed replacing, and they did a terrific job. I appreciated how they were very thorough, and went ahead and had my oil changed and a needed brake job done, too. They were professional and very accommodating, and even offered the use of a loaner car because they needed to keep mine overnight (although I didn't need it).
