My technician was extremely nice. However, it took 30 minutes to get the existing gel nails off of my toes. I have never had my nails (fingers or toes) wrapped with acetone soaked cotton, wrapped in aluminum foil to remove the gel. I did not receive the services I had requested, and the employee who did my pedicure said she had only two tools. My toenails were not cut, and overall the service received was sub par and not worth my time (we drove an hour one way) or the money paid. Again, the technician was extremely professional and kind. Wonderful and calm atmosphere, I enjoyed that the seats for pedicures were entirely separated from the seats for the manicures. Kasi did an amazing job with my pedicure and she was an absolute sweetheart, very kind and didn't try to force conversation like some nail techs do which was amazing because I am an anxious person and usually not one for a lot of conversation. Amazing salon with a very personal feeling. The salon is beautiful and peaceful, with an excellent variety of polishes and embellishments. I had a beautiful gel manicure done and was so pleased I booked my next appointment as soon as we finished. Brooke is excellent and will take very good care of your nails. The salon has a sign hanging up that says they've won best nail salon for 7 years in a row. I can definilty see why! Highly recommended!! read more

I booked my acrylic nail appointment with Kasi. The total appointment took 2.5 hours. While Kasi was doing my nails she was very emotional due to her lack of sleep the night prior which she made me aware of numerous times. She filed my nails to the point that I had 2 sores on my pinky and one on my ring finger. After she realized she did this she proceeded to tell me about her anxiety, especially related to people leaving her bad reviews. She commented on another review I made and stated she told me that in confidence. I have never met Kasi before, she provides a service to the public and she never asked me not to tell anyone. So that's just to cover her butt because the only reason she brought it up was so I didn't get upset that she hurt my finger. Once the nails were done I tipped and booked another appointment because I didn't want to upset her knowing she said her anxiety was very severe. I Cancelled the appointment that same day. I texted Kasi about getting a pedicure for myself and my friend not knowing she would be the one that would have done it. I assumed they were different technicians for fingers and feet As that's how it's done at the place I normally Go to. She didn't have an opening anyways before my trip to Florida which we discussed in great detail during my appointment. Even with the owner that was there during my appointment, the owner denies knowing where and when I was going but she talked about her florida trips in the past. That very night my thumb nail broke. I asked to have it fixed but they insisted Kasi had to do it. I didn't want her to since she had caused the sores on my fingers and takes a long time to do the nails And after i complained about how she did it, it just made me feel uncomfortable. I went to another salon to have it fixed. A few days after that my nails started turning this nasty rust brown color. Mind you the one I had fixed by another salon never changed color. I asked for a refund because I didn't want to go to Kasi. They then told me another person could do it, I asked to fit me in before I left for Florida but they couldn't. While on vacation the color worsened and another nail broke. I again asked for a refund. The owner then proceeded to state they weren't aware of my travel dates and location after I explained I couldn't just go in to have them fixed, therefore wanted a refund. The owner then stated I message too late, again on vacation. And that they wouldn't respond to any more messages and they refused a refund. I had another place take the nails off. They came off so easily without soaking, he pulled them off with his fingers. This technician was very surprised. My new set of nails by another place have not changed color at all. I have had acrylics for years and never had issues like this. yes the owner offered for them to fix them but I was out of the state and they were aware of this. Even though she denies it. I have proof by messenger photos. I wasted $80 for nails that looked nasty on my vacation. i Got them done because I wanted them to look nice for my trip. I then had to pay another $75 to get my nails taken off and redone, the thumb nail fixed for $10 and to do the new set during my vacation. I highly recommend you do not use this salon. read more

If it was possible to score this place with a negative number I would. I went to see Jessica after my daughter had her long, healthy, natural nails manicured and polished there. I thought the polish looked a bit thick but assumed this was just me being picky. I decided to give it a try since my nails are short, thin and desperately needed some tlc. I noticed they have received Bangor Best awards so how bad could it be? There were no openings for two weeks. (Long wait time for appointments.) And walk-ins are discouraged. The day I got my nails done the polish was thick and appeared old as it was being applied. Jessica was literally glopping the polish on the brush and onto my nails. Clearly, she should have taken a moment to get a new bottle or offer an alternative color. She abused my cuticles while giving the manicure resulting in hang nails for days. TWO days later, at work, the polish started to peel, chip, and crack. I had to remove it at home as my nails looked and felt awful. I called to cancel my next appointment (follow up) with Jessica as a result of my general disappointment with the service. I did it well before my scheduled appointment day and per their policy. I was called the day of my canceled appointment and told I had NOT called even though my phone record indicates a minute and a half call made to p&p on the day I canceled ( the time it took to listen to the greeting, press the correct ext and leave a brief message.) I was told I could not have made the call recorded on my phone as their service was down for two plus days. I know I made the call. I know I dialed ~3 to be transferred to Jessica's ext. I know I left a clear message. I followed their policy. I do not like having my integrity questioned. I have now been told they have a one time "oops policy" for no shows. I will not be taking advantage of that. My daughter's and myself won't be back again. Not a Bangor's Best for us. read more
