It was truly one of the highlights of my trip and I would highly recommend visiting to anyone in the area, and I hope to go again in the future! The parking nearby was a short walk but nothing crazy, and once we got to the Market it was shaded very well and had such a variety of stands both inside and outside of the buildings which I loved. It was a little hot outside so it was nice to be able to rotate between both areas. There was also such a great mix of stores, restaurants, snack stands, and artisans and crafts throughout. We grabbed some aguas frescas to sip on while we explored and they were delicious and a great price for how big they were. We had a big breakfast but it would be nice to try some of the many lunch spots they had throughout the market. The stores had everything but I loved the amount of talavera pottery to choose from and stocked up as much as my suitcase would allow. Prices are super reasonable as well considering these are handmade artisan pieces. I use my tazas everyday and they are the best coffee cups I have ever had. The merchants are super friendly and helpful as well. Everyone was very welcoming and made it a great experience. I hope to be back in the future!

Unfortunately, the vendors' food was underwhelming and expensive. I was coming from California and was excited to compare Mexican street food in Texas, but the options were very bland. Esquites - $12, 5 street tacos - $18, Chicken Gorditas -$11, Agua Fresca -$10 I did enjoy looking inside the markets (don't forget there are 2 different buildings for you to do your shopping). I saw items I wanted and continue to play so I can get them. It did get busy fast. Some of the machines were low on item. You do get the choice to keep what you won or upgrade them for a larger price. We choose to keep ours. But imagine the splendor of viewing it filled with thousands of lanterns in multicolored hues floating downstream. This year's Wishing Lantern event was truly a sight to behold. It only happens once a year, but this is one event you should try to experience if you're visiting the Alamo City or just a local who has not had a chance to take part in the Confucious Wishing Lanterns ceremony held annually in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The 2nd Annual CWL event took place February 9 of this year (2019). Eco-friendly rice paper lanterns and lotus flowers of all colors were placed into the waters of the San Antonio River at dusk. The tone of the evening was reverent and reflective as masses gathered along the riverbanks. Messages were written on many of the lanterns to honor and memorialize loved ones who have passed on, and many of them had wishes and dreams scrolled along the sides. The experience was quite magical. The Parade of Lanterns is also taking place each evening from 7-9PM now through February 23. Riverboats carrying life-sized lanterns will be floating through the downtown portion of the Riverwalk; so if you're dining at a restaurant with the view of the river, request a window seat! See it on the HUGE screen! These guys have a gigantic…read moreinflatable screen that they show movies, presentations, etc. on. This is like the Imax screen of backyard inflatable movie screens. They started up setting up their equipment at La Tuna, but also set up at the Pearl, Hemisfair, SAMA, and other places around town. The city has a deal with them this summer where you can see a bunch of free movies. They were putting on a James Bond film series, every week with a different movie. When you go check out their movies, generally you can take your own blankets, food, drinks, chairs, etc. There's no bad seat in the house, since the screen is so big! I love what these guys are doing to make new use of public spaces around SA to turn any park into a movie theater! SA has so many pleasant evenings, it's a great way to get outdoors and still catch up on a movie.

We went here as part our tour of the plaza where the attractions are located. We did the mirror…read moremaze first and got completely lost and could not find our way out. The kid kinda freaked out and it was scary thinking that there is no end and no way out. I seemed like we were really trapped with no way out. We finally, somehow, got out, and the cashier was surprised when we popped out where we stated. He said we were not supposed to come out that way, but both of us were relieved to be out. Then the wife went back in with the kid and also got lost but the kid was calmer. I think the maze is fun but you need to have a tolerance for feeling totally lost with no way out. The wife and kid then did an escape room and could not get out in the 10 minute time limit. But they enjoyed it. Finally, the kid did the laser challenge and liked that the best. They let her do different levels and she was happy to emerge an"expert." Overall, this was a fun attraction and worth the time and money. One note: when you first arrive they will try to sell you the most expensive package, but if you keep asking you will finally get to the package that you want that is cheaper.

This was a fun date night experience, definitely worth the money. We had access to the amazing…read moremirror maze, all of the escape rooms, and discover zone. The mirror maze was very enjoyable and took some time to figure out, we also made it last a little longer to be sure we explored as many of the halls as possible. Once you solve the maze they send you back through with 3d glasses which led to a lot of laughs as we tried not to run into others. There are 6 escape rooms and you are given 10 minutes to escape each of them. There are two for each easy, medium, and hard levels. It wasn't very busy when we went so we were able to choose the order we wanted to enter the rooms. One or two of the rooms had broken panels or messed up timers so we had to keep time on our phones. I was still impressed with the puzzles and one room had us completely stumped. The discover zone had an entirely dark area to climb through that was fun to navigate. There was also a room with a light wall and magnetic wall to put together tube mazes for balls. I would definitely recommend the mirror maze and discover zone for families with all ages of kids.

I was very impressed! They also do tarot readings and have such fun events. I'm thankful I came today for my first time as they were doing a "make your own honey jar" event for only 15$! We ended up being very late for our reservation but Cristina let us in anyway since we were the only group that day (it was a Monday). Nick came in after-hours to open up the axe throwing for us and was very patient with all of us, teaching us the ins and outs of axe throwing. Cristina hosted the escape room (The Orient Express), which was a murder mystery adventure. She was very accommodating and helpful even though we made her work late--on her birthday no less! This escape room was intense and anxiety-inducing, but such a great time. My friends and I did the…read morezombie room, and the actor playing the zombie was amazing. We were genuinely terrified the entire time. If you do this room, definitely pay attention to your surroundings. While trying to dodge the zombie, we ended up with a lot of self-inflicted injuries and bruises from running into things like a metal breaker box on the wall. Despite that, it was a 10 out of 10 experience and I highly recommend it.
